Other Square Enix games section?

So, I was just wondering...would having a section for those other Square Enix games that are released be possible/a good idea?

I mean, any Square Enix related news can be put in the news section, but the games that aren't FF get their discussion threads put into Rocket Town. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a sub-forum where those other Square Enix games that aren't related to Final Fantasy could be discussed? There are certainly enough of them to warrant it, in my opinion.

I know this is an FF forum first and foremost, but the Kingdom Hearts series gets a section to itself, and the connection to Final Fantasy is pretty much limited to just cameos. Yeah, it's a popular series with multiple instalments, but so is Dragon Quest, and that doesn't have it's own sub-forum. Granted, there aren't any FF cameos in that, but still...

This is probably a bad/stupid/already discussed idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I think there was a section like this before, or certainly similar. When it comes down to it though, I think it is entirely dependent upon popularity. Kingdom Hearts is a pretty big franchise and popular too on western shores, but then Dragon Quest, for example, is a fantastic game but isn't overly popular in the west. I'm sure the reason the last similar section was removed was because it was pretty much a dead forum bar the occasional post.

It's already been discussed recently in this thread, where the answer was pretty much a no.

From what I've gathered, we used to have a sub-section for other Square Enix games, but due to a combination of dupe threads in both that section and Rocket Town as well as the sparse amount of discussion on other SE games, it was seen as being rather unnecessary and removed. The example you have there: Dragon Quest, it's very rarely discussed here anyway and wouldn't look too out of place in Rocket Town.

I wouldn't be opposed to this idea anyhow, but at the moment I'm not convinced that there's much demand for a sub-section, nor am I really convinced that it will have much in the way of activity.

Like Fleur and Argar stated, FFF used to have it's own sub-sections for other games created by Square-Enix and SquareSoft. However, those sections, contained topics where there would be 4 or 5 months gone by whereas the discussion was abandoned. Sure maybe a wave of 3 or 4 topics would hit at once to spark life into a Radiata Stories or Sword of Mana topic, but then it went dormant for another couple months.

So, the decision was to move those topics and direct any newly created topics to be created in the Rocket Town section. Or, for the topic to be created in the sub-section dealing with whichever platform it was released on.

Overall, it was to take an un-popular sub-section and moved it to a more trafficked area in order to cut down a bit on an already pretty huge forum layout.
