Oppression: RP

"There's someone here. I think her name is Serenity, but she can protect us. There's something bad coming and we need to get away from it."

The situation was tumbling out of hand. The girl had led her down an alley, supposedly to a wounded person, but the said alley was empty. Now, the girl request, or almost demand that Dies follow her into the building to some woman named Serenity for protection. Normally, her patience would have run dry about 5 minutes ago, but today, Dies was in a good mood. She would escort this young lady to what Dies thought should be her guardian. Clearly the girl is a bit disturbed and the least Dies could do is take her to her carer.

"Please follow me. I'll tell you why later, but we have to move!"

Again, the girl sped off, leaving Dies only the option of following or leaving. Rolling her eyes, Dies trotted after the girl. As she left the alley, one thing that bothered her was the fresh patch of blood and the shattered glass where the girl initially brought her. That much blood, any person would be dead, or at the least, so wounded that they shouldnt even move. There was no one there however.

It didn't take long for Dies to reach the girl again and a minute or two later, they arrived at Serenity's apartment.

Alright. Let's find your guardian so i can go. Miss Serenity? Are you here? i have your charge here. You really should keep a closer eye on her.

An unsettling feeling sunk to the base of Dies stomach. Casually, Dies placed her hands at her hip, in the perfect position to draw her gun if she needed. Dies wasn't particularly fond of highrise battles, as was evident last night.

Hayden looked down at the city of New York from the Empire State Building. His expression was fixed, determined and there was a passionate fire burning in them. No one knew he was up here, but that did not mean he wasn't cautious at the same time. For someone who had been on the run for some years now, there was no room to take chances when it concerned his life being on the line. He ran his hand through his motorbike, feeling the smoothness of the seat. It was funny how he'd acquired this vehicle.

In one of the towns he lived in when he was younger, there were jocks who would try to bully him into doing things he didn't want to do for a year or so. Since discovering he was in possession of the element of air, Hayden had always wanted to get his own back on them. Soon after graduation, he broke into the head jock's dad's shop and stolen a motorbike. It was just one of the many crimes Hayden was accused of, although he thought that wasn't necessarily wasn't the one he was always chased for.

"Time to gear my criminal record up a notch!" he boomed.

Jumping on to the bike, he started the engine. It roared with such power. Aided by the air, Hayden rode the bike to the edge of the building and allowed himself to fall hundreds of feet downwards to the ground. When it may have seemed he was about to come to his death, the air aided him and he soared across in the air above the other vehicles. When he dropped on to the sidewalk, he swiftly moved on to the roads and hoped that there would be another chase coming up. He loved thwarting the government each time.

OOC: Okay, after much discussion with Diar, we’re carrying on under the pretence that neither Miki Hoshii or Subeinu have ever posted, so, as far as the story goes, only Dies and Lily are in the apartment.

Serenity opened the door and smiled, the girl had returned, and she’d brought company. Serenity glanced at her new companion, raising her eyebrows

“I have your charge here. You really should keep a closer eye on her.”

Serenity noticed that the girl’s hands were on her hips, moving towards the gun. Serenity felt a burst of anger and snapped

“Don’t even bother, you silly little girl, I’m not going to hurt you. And, just F.Y.I. Bullets can’t hurt me, so I’d appreciate you not drawing your weapon in my house, nor do I appreciate your little lecture. If you’d seen the dangers we faced… you wouldn’t be too quick to judge.”

Serenity took a deep breath, calming herself, before smiling again

“Thank you for bringing the girl back, I was worried I’d have to go out searching for her again.”

Serenity paused, before letting her eyes rest on the girl

“Look, I won’t ask why you ran, I’m sure that encountering that electro-bitch wasn’t exactly reassuring. But, please understand, I’m on your side. I’m not going to hurt you. However… now that the government is aware that you’re an elemental… we may face more like her. You must be prepared. I might not be around next time to help you”

Plus, I’ve given the game away throwing that woman out of my home, the government will be tracking me down now too, Serenity groaned inwardly.

Serenity gave some time to allow the two girls to process this new information before carrying on.

“Look sharp, we’re going to visit an old friend of mine” she then rounded on the new character “You’ll be coming with us, of course. I don’t know who you are, but until I know I can trust you, I’m keeping my eye on you.” Serenity paused, and started chivvying the two girls out of the apartment “Now, if you’d be as kind as to follow me, I think we'll be able to grab a taxi and be on our way”

Serenity began to smile as she locked her door and began walking down the hallway, although these circumstances weren’t ideal she was looking forward to seeing Rhiann again. She stopped mid-stride and turned around to address the two girls once more

“I’m terribly sorry, I’ve been awfully rude. I’m Serenity Elwood, and what would your names be?”

Lily sighed in relief as she came across Serenity. Even if she had fled from her before, this new woman was like an anchor to her, something secure to stick around for. It was odd, but Lily couldn't remember having someone around she felt she could trust for a long time, if at all. It wasn't a bad feeling. Realizing that Serenity was done with her companion and was now addressing them both, she answered.

"Oh, ah, I'm Lily. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Dies was a bit irked at this. She had no idea what the hell was going on, and the woman's attitude was a bit too... school teacher-ish. She had gone against her own prinicples more time than she had last year in the last 5 minutes and graciously taking the woman's charge back to her, she gets this.

Fine, ill just mind my own business next time. Jeez, do a good deed for once and this is what you get...

“Thank you for bringing the girl back, I was worried I’d have to go out searching for her again.”

Right, well, whatever. I'm going to jet.

Dies flicked her hand to her face, checking the time before checking her other possessions. It was policy to never move out of a safe zone without an inventory check. Just as Dies had finished and was about to turn and leave, the woman spoke to her once again.
“Look sharp, we’re going to visit an old friend of mine. You’ll be coming with us, of course. I don’t know who you are, but until I know I can trust you, I’m keeping my eye on you. Now, if you’d be as kind as to follow me, I think we'll be able to grab a taxi and be on our way”

Wha...? What the hell?

Already, she and the other girl was getting lead out of the apartment, much to Dies' chargin. Things were going over her head and here she was getting forced to tag along with people SHE didnt trust.

Ditto that feeling. I don't even know you! Why the hel....

“I’m terribly sorry, I’ve been awfully rude. I’m Serenity Elwood, and what would your names be?”

"Oh, ah, I'm Lily. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Dies gave up. So adamant was the woman that Dies came to the conclusion that the faster she... cooperated with the woman, the faster she would be allowed to leave. Dies crossed her arms. She was not happy. Not once was she told why she had to follow, but there was no other choice.

Dies. Dies Irae.

Justice

Hayden wiped the grease off his mouth, smirking. He had just stopped by his favourite diner in the city, having ate some waffles. If he hadn't been on the run, then he would've given the pretty waitress his number. It was a shame, but he had business to attend to here in New York. When he walked out of the building, he noticed a familiar face in sight. He felt his insides burn on fire and the wind started to pick up.

Running as swiftly as he could with the aid of the wind, he grabbed Harrison's throat and slammed him into the nearest brick wall in the alleyway. The agent choked for a few seconds and struggled to break free. Hayden kicked him in the gut and let his broken body fall to the ground. It pleased him to see that his worst enemy had been unprepared this time. It almost seemed too easy.

"Didn't think you were expecting that, punk!" exclaimed Hayden.

"Ouch ... my, my ... Hay ... Hayden!" gasped Harrison, looking up. His glasses had fallen to his side, but he didn't need to his sight to hear that voice. "I thought ..."

Hayden grabbed his hair and dragged his face upwards.

"Well, you thought wrong, didn't ya? I know what you did all those years ago, Harrison. I know it was you that organised the murders."

"And what ... what proof do you ... have? Who will ... believe you?"

"You put me through hell all those years ago, Harrison!" yelled Hayden, slamming the agent's face into a puddle.

It wasn't like him to be violent and dark, but he would prefer to usually bottle his emotions up. In front of his parents' murderers, there were no exceptions.

"I don't care if the government's so screwed up it won't deliver justice. But let me tell you now, it's taken me years to come back here. I'm going to find those other elementals you were talking about. We're going to take over this city and stop you from whatever it is that you want us for. Until then, looks like you won't be making the action, old man. You're just going to have sit ... or rather, lie down on the sidelines ..."

After what seemed to be an hour later, Hayden looked down at Harrison's severely injured body. Spitting on his face, he turned to his motorbike and got on. The engine roared and off he was again.

Lily sighed as she sensed the tension between Dies and Serenity. This was no time for fighting. Especially over something so petty as this.

"You have to come with us," Lily said coolly to Dies. "It's for your own protection." She was surprised, to say the least, at the maturity in her own voice. But she had to take advantage of it, to get this ridiculous animosity out of the way until later. So she spoke again, saying what she knew to be true in the hopes of getting out of here.

"It isn't safe to stay here for long. The government will be sending someone else shortly. We need to get moving. Now." She looked at Serenity. "Lead the way."

Turning away as a splitting headache accosted her, and she broke out in a cold sweat. The price of acting like a grown up. An adult. How delightful.

Luciana listened hard to what Nathan had to say. She was still intrigued what this new partnership would bring, but she decided to leave her questions for another time. Harrison would have wanted to know how the meeting went down before any further progress coul be made. His constant staring did not put her off the glass of water in front of her. She sipped more of it, grateful for once that the soothing liquid did not shock her like it would do when she was a child before the ... tests.

As she initially suspected, the conversation was never private to begin with. Luciana sighed under her breath, frustrated that Harrison would send agents to keep an eye on her. Did he not trust her? Or did this happen to be the work of his superiors? Whatever the case, Luciana did not appreciate the chance to have some privacy with Nathan. She made a mental note to personally electrocute those agents. Agents were never ever meant to cross her. She would make them fear her.

When she looked at Nathan again, she picked up the piece of paper. So he'd given her his phone number. His real one. The personal one. Hmm, this was most interesting. No one had ever been able to pull that one before. Luciana was going to love the priceless look on Harrison's face when she saw him. Now that they were partners, things were most certainly about to change.

"I'm assuming Harrison should be lurking around the neighbourhood," smirked Luciana. At that precise moment, she felt her cell phone vibrating violently in her jeans pocket. Scowling briefly, she answered it without checking the caller ID. "Sanfield here. Yes ... Harrison? What? Slow down ... what do you mean? Where? Ok ... I'll be there soon as possible." There was a tone of worry in her voice.

She turned to face Nathan again.

"Seeing as how we're partners, I bet it's safe to tell you that Harrison was just attacked two minutes away from here," she said sternly, crossing her arms. "By an elemental. I need to go and help him. He's been injured."

"Seeing as how we're partners, I bet it's safe to tell you that Harrison was just attacked two minutes away from here," she said sternly, crossing her arms. "By an elemental. I need to go and help him. He's been injured."

Nathan remained silent for a brief moment and pondered on the possible perpetrators of this unexpected assault on a government officer. Sure Nathan knew this was bound to happen eventually yet he didn't felt compelled to share it just yet. He couldn't risk to let other elementals know that he was tracking them by using the disturbance their powers create in nature. Not even Luciana could know...and for a moment he felt guilty because he knew another elemental besides Luciana and himself was nearby yet he couldn't yet tell where...

It appears that the government no longer has this sector under their control if they are having rough elementals attacking their agents.

Curiously enough, it hasn't been long since reports concerning an increase in elemental activity have been intercepted by Nathan's spies. What's even more confusing is that the government is being hesitant in applying their countermeasures to control the current situation.

Nathan sighed, he took a sip of wine and then rested his index finger on his chin as he immersed himself in a web of possible ideas and scenarios. Suddenly he snapped after realizing the severity of the situation. Harrison has been attacked. Even though Nathan usually never trusted Harrison there was one fact he could not deny: Harrison was the only way to know more about Luciana's background.

Curiosity sparked once again in Nathan's eyes the day he first laid his eyes on the dangerously powerful Luciana. He needed to know why she was so needed by the government and how they managed to keep her under control.

"Harrison was attacked?"
Nathan feign ignorance as he finished consuming his wine. He then laid the cup on table. "I see...well it seems the government is no longer fit to handle this situation. And here I was thinking that the elemental project had accomplished anything...human experimenta..." Nathan then realized he was about to say something completely out of place. In his mind he knew there was....even if it was a slim chance, that Luciana was the result of these experiments. He didn't wanted to emotionally hurt her more than they already have...

For some odd reason, Nathan felt sympathy for Luciana. A weapon of the government, never given a chance to be "alive". Nathan then pulled out his cellphone and began to send several text messages. "You go up ahead Luciana. My men were given orders to clear a path for you. Whoever manages to track you down must be a real professional. These agent rookies need not to be any concern. Go, I'll catch you up later..."

Nathan knew he had to find out who was behind the attack against agent Harrison. He needed to make haste if he wanted to find the elemental before Luciana.

Luciana had to agree that the government was beginning to become unfit to handle the elemental situation. Not only had she beeen so foolish to allow herself to be attacked by another one of them, crashed to her death and be untimely resurrected by her powers, but now Harrison had been attacked. If it happened to be the same one, then Luciana most certainly began to feel a personal vendetta against them. No matter how she felt about anyone else in the government, Harrison had been the one there for her. He was her mentor, having taught her everything ... a father figure, perhaps.

However, as distracted as she may have seemed in that moment, Luciana caught Nathan's words in the midst of it all. She heard the words "elemental project" and "human experimenta". What did he mean by them? Was he hiding something? Whatever the case, she tried so hard to push it to the back of her mind. Harrison was her main cause for concern, Nathan's orders being issued bringing her back to exactly that.

"I'll see you soon," she said quietly, rising to her feet and walking out of the restaurant with her jacket in her spare hand.

She pushed the door open and she was back in the city again. Some things weren't adding up. Harrison's mysterious attack and then what Nathan said ... what did it all mean? Flinging her denim jacket on once again, Luciana felt anger boil through her body. This was so NOT her day today. She rolled up her t-shirt to examine her stomach wound. It was all patched up with white bandages around her waist, but it still stung like hell. And to think that she was the incredible Agent Lightning, too ...

She's coming back one way or another, Luciana thought darkly.

She ran towards the nearest ladder and climbing up to the top of the nearby building. She'd have to take this route through the rooftops. After all, Luciana still had to be cautious of the elemental that sent her tumbling to her death now, didn't she?

OOC: A real crummy post, just to keep things rolling

"You have to come with us. It's for your own protection.
It isn't safe to stay here for long. The government will be sending someone else shortly. We need to get moving. Now."

Dies was about to snap off another response when she stopped her tongue. There was no point to being difficult. She was not 12. It was best to be mature about it and just cooperate. Plus, she was as involved as she could get. If the government was involved, then her best guess was that they saw her interact with the girl. She did not need another thing on her record. Dies resigned to their demands

*Sigh* Fine. Lets get going then. To where ever we need to go. Just make it fast. I don't want a run in with cops.

OOC : Shortish post, just need to get things moving and I'm not quite sure how to do it xD

Serenity smiled, finally things were moving and she was back in control.

"Dies. Lily. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. However, no time for chit chat, we'll do that when we get to Rhiann's house. Follow me"

Serenity walked out of the building, trusting the other girls to follow behind her. She walked out towards the pavement, hailing a cab. When one stopped, she slid in, and told the driver where to go, before motioning for the other two girls to join her.

Flipping open her phone, Serenity hit re-dial, and began speaking as soon as she was sure either Rhiann, or his voicemail, would hear her

"Rhiann, it's me. I have two other girls with me, we'll be there shortly. Make sure you have a private room prepared, we have much to discuss"

OOC: Anyone seen Diar? Again, just to gete in the cap to get to Serenity's secret room

Without complaint anymore, Dies slid into the cab that pulled up. Constant practice with escaping crime scenes unnoticed had been burned into her head and body and since this tower seemed to be under surveillance, it was only natural to leave similarly.

"Rhiann, it's me. I have two other girls with me, we'll be there shortly. Make sure you have a private room prepared, we have much to discuss"

Once again, Dies tensed. She did not like going to some mysterious place for "private talks". Reeked too much of interrogation and the like, but she steeled herself and told herself that the enemy of her enemy is her allies and these people were no friends of the fuzz, so it should be alright.

After changing into a more presentable set of clothing, Rhiann flipped his phone open to call Serenity back. Before he could even think about dialling her number, the phone started vibrating in his hand. Flipping it open and putting it to his ear, he didn't bother saying anything, knowing Serenity wouldn't have the time or patience for formalities in her current state.

"Rhiann, it's me. I have two other girls with me, we'll be there shortly. Make sure you have a private room prepared, we have much to discuss"

After hearing a very final sounding click, he closed his phone again and slipped it into his pocket, starting down the hallway towards the stairs. There was a room on the second floor, sound proof and comfortable, that would suit their needs quite nicely. Upon reaching the room he had in mind, he rested a hand on the doorknob and allowed himself a moment to think about what could bring Serenity out of her self-imposed exile. She had always stayed near the city, watching unseen as life went on around her, and he couldn't think of anything that would shake her from her ways.

Several minutes passed as Rhiann thought, but before too long, he shook his head and opened the door, flicking the lights on and grabbing the keys off the hook inside. A quick survey of the room told him that it would fit their talk nicely, and he shut the door again, locking it behind him.

What felt like a lifetime but in reality was only about five minutes later, Rhiann settled himself in the foyer. Just as he was removing his cell phone from his pocket to make sure he hadn't missed another call from Serenity, he heard the crunch of gravel outside that surely signaled her arrival. Leaning back slightly into his chair, Rhiann looked expectantly at the door.
