Okay i just started to play FFXII, and was just watching the opening of the game, it was really... really, irritating, i mean really irritating, i just was sitting there saying please let me start playing, or is it just me that thinks that, but the part with the book there and some guy just talking about what happened, did anyone else hate that part or was it just me, plus i didn't like the chocobos in the game either

If i'm wrong please tell me, and your reason, if i'm right, tell me why as well

lol u did no that u kud skip that bit?
i didnt find the book bit that boring, it was just telling u wat had happened. i thought that the wedding and all the fighting with the 2 guys on the chocobos was pretty weak tho. it didnt realy have any point

Wow, you hate the Chocobos in this? They pretty much looked the same as the ones in X :O :O :O

..dear me.

I thought that FFXII has the best opening to date. At first it was boring with just seeing Ashe and Rasler getting married, but then the second half with the battle was interesting. I'll admit that the bit with the book and the guy talking was a tad boring, but bearable

I loved the opening. As Ive mentioned before anything with politics and war ususally confuses me, so I re-read whatevers written in the book. Sometimes it sinks in, others its still eh ...
But I love the opening anyhoo.

is it just me that thinks that

Why yes, yes you are. lol The introduction was incredible. I can understand some people don't like long FMVs... but that one was incredible. Seriously, great introduction. And as for the narration, it happens quite a few times after significant events. I think it was one of the coolest things in the game. It's very cool too because it's like you're playing through events that already occured. That you were, in a sense, writing history as you played is also a deep tie-in to the game.

The narration surprised me a little, but I can't say it bothered me.

The FMV itself was outstanding in all ways an FMV can be. I'm a fanatic for war, so it soon enough ensnared me.

The intro was rather class to be honest. Very well done and it was dark and twisted.

Something Final Fantasy has never really jumped into much before you know?

It was gruesome and serious. I really enjoyed it.

I'll admit Ondore's journals was a bit boring but ah well, it was necessary when you look at it.

I really liked the opening. It was what I've come to expect from FF games. I reallly look foward to the FMV's in all FF games and the begining and the end I value as the most important. I do remember thinking "come on come on" because I wanted to play but I wouldn't skip any of it because I wanted to know the story. As far as the book part I liked that as well. At the time I started yelling at my dog "shut up!!" because I wanted to hear it. After it was over my dog had jumped up on me and was quiet just as it ended. lol figures.. I love that dog:P

he's just being emotional... he misses the old 3d chocobos bad made.
The first time I saw the opening, it was like...the same stuff...and also I thought this movie was like a fusion between star wars and the lord of the rings =.= , but anyways...

I love the opening, if you think open minded and also about that this is ivalice and stuff, I think it rocks :)

I actually love the opening. The whole Rasler and Ashe marriage was my favorite FMV. I love the whole petals falling down; it was so beautiful. And then the battle; talk about suspense and action. Hmm, I kinda agree with you on the guy talking though, but I think it's because I was excited to play the game more than anything. I didn't find him annoying at all. The chocobos were cute as always too.

I just didn't like the part with the book, i dunno, i just found that irritating, as for the chocobos, i liked them better in FFX, they actually look different, if you look at the comparison, as for the FMV, yes the war and fighting was good, just got a bit irritating after a while, but still intersting, and the wedding, moved along a bit fast, so i dunno, make it longer it wouldn't have been good, make it shorter wouldn't have either, so its kinda stuck

I LOVE the part when the book with the history appears, because that reminds me Alazlam Durai reading his memories in final fantasy tactics ( psOne )

The sad stuff is that the background music is from the ending of my favourite final fantasy: VIII T_T

Oh man I loved the intro to the game. Starts off with an instant casualty rate of like 1 death per second once the invasion starts. The FMV was amazing and the action was packed to the brim. I had seen the Intro FMV way before the game was released, but even when I saw it when I first bought the game, I was very impressed.

It was alright. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't find it horrible or even bad, I just can't say I 'loved' it. It was okay.

I liked the battle part, and the fmv itself was very pretty to look at. It just didn't wow me as much as the fmv's later on in the game.

:O Wow... I've heard a lot of good and bad about the game itself including some of my own comments, but this is the first time I've heard that someone didn't like the opening.

I absolutely loved the opening in this one and IMHO, it's hands down one of the best I've seen thus far, including Ondore's narrations.

I think the opening scene(s) did an excellent job at laying down the framework for the game. It was edited really well, the war scenes were fantastic, and you get a glimpse of the poilical structure that follows into the rest of the game (as far as I can tell... I haven't gotten far into it yet.)

Man, I want to go play it now.

I thought the opening was alright. It didn't make me excited about playing the game though. It was a little too much like a big budget Hollywood movie for my taste complete with killing someone off someone important so as not to lose the audiences attention. And it felt like I had seen it somewhere before. The book part was alright. I kept thinking show, don't tell.

I don't like long FMV's though.
