Anime One Piece???

The only part of it that repeats is that Luffy's usually the one to take down the "final boss", but if that were a case for criticism of repetition, might as well slam all shonen anime :p
Yea, I guess if that were the case, also, they did say (Don't remember if it's an actual line in the manga) that Luffy always knows who he has to fight.
This was me a year and a half/two years ago. I could barely get past the first fight with Buggy, and later on when someone on an old forum I visited insisted that Enel was the most amazing character of all time, I went and did a lookup on the guy and well...edged further away from the series.

Then I gave it my third (or fourth or fifth?) attempt at reading, got up to Arlong Park and HOLYSHITEVERYTHINGWENTUPHILLFROMTHERE.
lol, I know what you mean, Skypiea arc really got on my nerves especially Enel, he really annoyed me.

It was mediocre/bad when I made that last post. It hit utter shit level when Aizen started having more transformations than Frieza and Cell combined.

I lol'ed.
This. Everyone in the crew's gotten a flashback/background (I find it especially fascinating that Luffy was the LAST of them to have such a flashback) and Oda just about never seems to forget characters (seriously, the number of times Makino, Buggy, Kaya, and all the other early-arc characters pop up, to say nothing of the occasional "what's going on in Alabasta" moment is amazing).

Yea, he doesn't forget about them, since they all serve a part later on, so it's really not good to neglect them and then they show up out of nowhere.
In fact, I think the only detail Oda's since completely ignored/faded out on is the fact that none of the crew has the X-mark on their left forearms anymore.

Didn't the X-mark on their left serve it's part, I know they only drew it on their hand to prevent getting tricked in Alabasta's arc. That serving it's purpose, I don't think it's needed anymore, iirc they only drew it with paint so it can be easily washed out.

I can't recall the specific chapter number, but it's shortly after Luffy takes off after Lucci and Nami mentions that he'd always known he'd be fighting him.

Best parts of Skypeia:
1: Robin joining.
2: Events surrounding Mock Town (Luffy meets Blackbeard, curbstomping Bellamy).
3: The connection with Roger at the end.

It did, but with lines like "No matter what happens, from here on out; our left forearms will bear the symbol of our fellowship" and the scene where they all give Vivi the farewell salute with the mark...

I dunno, I get that she was a temporary member, but with lines/scenes like the ones mentioned above, it felt like the X was going to be a permanent thing for the crew.

Bellamy's getting beaten to the ground by one punch, epicness. :mokken: Though, I really wanted them to kick their asses right when they started the fight in the pub, Although, I assume Luffy didn't fight when they laughed about the whole Skypiea thing is because of what happend with Shanks when he was a kid. Think I'll go watch mock town part again. :awesome:

Hmm... I guess from the lines, they should have still had it, even if Vivi left. Though, I don't think it would have served a major part now (Apart from Luffy and Chopper stupidity of telling people's faces, timeskip chapters), after all, there's only 1 kind of each devil fruit and that person is already a friend now.

To quote Zoro: "There's no feeling of victory with people like those when you beat them; only pity."

I guess actually, that quote holds true for the way Luffy beat Bellamy. He didn't use any named techniques (pistol, bullet, whip, etc.), didn't even use devil fruit powers (except to land safely). All he did was sock him in the side of the head. He didn't dignify him with effort.

"One of each devil fruit at one time." was Oda's wording. By that logic now, I expect with
Ace gone
, it's entirely possible that someone else out there could find and eat the mera mera no mi.

This. I never heard about this, as I don't follow what Oda says, unless it was mentioned in the manga but I didn't pay attention to it. If going by that logic, this
could explain how Blackbeard got Guru Guru fruit power, though I think there's more to Yami Yami fruit than what he said.
It's gonna take a long long time for the whole thing to finish.

Bumpin' thread because holyshittimeskipappearancesandkrakens

So anyway, I have to say that this has turned out quite well.
I'm still not entirely sold on Franky's new appearance (it's the arms really) but it's nice to see that people haven't changed too much. It's going to be really interesting to see how the others have changed in abilities as well. Apparently Robin can now sprout up to a thousand arms (her apparent limit before was one hundred) and Chopper's guard point is...um...huge.

Oh, and it looks like Luffy doesn't shrink to kid-size anymore from Gear 3.
...

Nipple lights, my god...

Yea, the recent chapter were quite good and entertaining. :mokken:

Also Luffy's gear 3rd is equipped with haki, he made his punch like iron or something, though typical of Zoro and Luffy, to get lost. <_< Sanji might find his way back, but the other 2 are just beyond idiocy in the matter of directions and what not.

Nipple lights, lol. That was epic. :'D

I still think Oda is a genius. Can't wait for those chapters to be animated, though it will take about a year or so. :(

Luffy has a directional sense in the most basic of terms (North is cold, south his hot, etc.) and Sanji tracks people (ie; girls only) by scent, though he may have developed some innate compass-like sense having been around the Okama for so long.

Zoro has no directional sense whatsoever but it would be funny if he suddenly picked one up now.

LOL, yea Luffy's directions are messed up. =P

You know what I'm still wondering about? The random shark that showed up, I mean what the hell was that? Though, I hope they get to Fishman's island faster. I don't want that guy Caribou to join the crew, I don't even want him as a possibility. D:

I won't spoil it, but I was very happy with what happened in the last manga chapter. :) I know a lot of people weren't happy with the latest arc but I liked it. It wasn't as epic as Marineford or Enies Lobby, but since the Straw Hats are technically not in the new world yet, I think that it would only make sense that they would be much stronger than the current enemies.

Really? I didn't even pay attention to the latest arc. I tried to get into it but I just couldn't. But I called what happened FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. The title was very subtle indeed. xD

I expected what happened in the latest chapter even before the time skip. Also, really, no one should have expected Fishman Island arc to be on big scale it was there to show the past of Fishman island and the reason of Arlong's hatred and to show off how much stronger the crew has grown.

Honestly, though, I think Oda dragged it on quite long... Also, he took like A LOT of breaks, every 2 chapters or so. =/ Anyway, I'm looking forward the next chapter, I'm just gonna watch the newest episode of the anime. xD

Yeah I figured it was happening. I was debating people for the past year or so (when ever Impel Down came out) that it was happening so when Luffy popped the question, I was like FINALLY!. (And some people were arguing for some other random characters) I did like the commentary on racism in the current arc. Also, here's hoping that Nami takes out Caribou, because I was disappointed that she didn't get her own one on one. (Not that she missed much) But I want to see her new abilities. (She's also my favorite character)

Should we make a One Piece club where we can talk about spoilers with out censoring them?

Yea, it's better to have a One Piece club. It's kinda annoying when you have to worry about using spoiler tags for every little thing you will mention.

I really want to see who till take out that Caribou. He's way annoying with his I-am-so-strong attitude. Also, yea it was kinda disappointing how Nami didn't get the chance to show off her powers.
