Not sure if anyone here likes the Ninja Gaiden Series, but I Certainly do.

It's one of the most challenging and hardest games made, alongside Demon's Souls.

Anyways,

I was just browsing G4TV.com (also a channel for me) and my eyes caught this -

http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/7...Gaiden-3-According-To-The-Games-Producer.html

Ninja-Gaiden-II.jpg

Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi is looking back at Ninja Gaiden 2 to decide how to improve Ninja Gaiden 3. Hayshi, the producer of Ninja Gaiden 3, said he was keeping the criticisms Ninja Gaiden 2 received in mind while making the next game in the series. He told Videogamer.com, "That's why it's important for Ninja Gaiden III - we want to have it brand new, and we're going to create a Ninja Gaiden III from full scratch and change the paradigm." For more on what to expect from Ninja Gaiden 3 keep reading."The good things we want to improve more and bad things we want to change," Yosuke Hayashi said. "Most of all, basically, for the previous series - Ninja Gaiden II is already outdated, I feel. That's why, as you see, the industry evolution for game creation and game development already has been changed and paradigm shifted." Worried this might mean NG3 will be less gory, less action packed or less over-the-top? I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. While details were sparse he did say Team Ninja would be "focusing more on how to cut people, and the sense of cutting" this time around.
We can expect to hear more about Ninja Gaiden 3 as the convention season gets started. What changes do you want to see in the Ninja Gaiden series.

Shan't be purchasing this. Ninja Gaiden 2 was a heap of shit, way too easy to beat and basically ended up just being a button masher. Shame, 'cause the level designs and the weapons were awesome.

Reports are coming in that the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine is full of new info about Ninja Gaiden 3. NeoGAFfer RatedRSuperstar summarized the article, noting a few salient points about the Team Ninja sequel.

Reportedly, the difficulty level "won't be toned down for casual gamers," which means Team Ninja is making the game "more accessible" in a different way. In addition, it packs competitive and cooperative multiplayer, with at least one mode supporting up to eight players. There's also a possibility of Move support. The weapons store is gone, in favor of weapons that "upgrade over time."

According to RatedRSuperstar, "Blood is back" as well. Having seen the purported scans, that's an understatement. Imagine a ninja covered in melted Twizzlers.

Update#1

Here is the first trailer of Ninja Gaiden III from E3 2011. Enjoy!

Update#2

Ninja Gaiden 3 To Have Downloadable Characters And Missions

At E3, Team Ninja publicly revealed a few details on Ninja Gaiden 3 this week. The game will have two multiplayer modes — a cooperative one and a competitive mode — for up to 8 players. Ninja Gaiden 3 will also allow you to download new challenges, characters and missions when you connect online.

As far as the story is concerned, Team Ninja are remaining rather tight-lipped. The antagonist of Ninja Gaiden 3, they say, is a masked man — presumably the one in the trailer — whose motivations and goals are unclear. Ryu will apparently find himself undergoing a few changes during the course of the game, and you’ll get to learn more about his past.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, and is currently slated for an early 2012 release.

ill admit I dont care about the story or anything on ryu hayubusa howeve ri watched my uncle play the whole game in part 1, I brought the game part 2 "only" for my favorite doa character ayane, I liked her chapter 11 and challenge modes with her, Im pretty sure they said kasumi might be in the enxt one. Even though I know the game is about ryu since Ive seen the games story I might as well continue...but if anyone knows if Ayane will be playable again let me know asap ;) if she's not playable then Im not wasting my money for a ryu only playable game (the only thing i do with him is spam izuna drops like on doa anyway wont matter what combos he have, izuna drop is a one hit kill xD)

Ninja Gaiden 3 gets March release date

Ninja Gaiden 3 will launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March, Team Ninja lead Yosuke Hayashi told journalists including Joystiq yesterday. The latest entry in the famously difficult hack-and-slash series will also appear on Wii U when the system launches next year, and a Vita game is expected in February.

Ninja Gaiden 3 pre-orders higher than normal in Japan

Team Ninja has stated through the magic of Twitter that pre-orders for Ninja Gaiden 3 are a bit higher in Japan than what is normal for the series. Likely, this has something to do with folks getting a Dead or Alive 5 demo with their pre-order, and due to this, the firm has suggested everyone pre-order early to ensure they get the trial. The firm has also noted that if you press select when playing the game, you can open up a real-time move list, which changes depending on skill you’re using at the time. Ninja Gaiden 3 is out in March on PS3 and Xbox 360. Thanks, Andriasang.

Five straight minutes of Ryu Hayabusa messing dudes up in Ninja Gaiden 3, right here

Starting your morning with a murderous ninja (is there any other kind?) feels so right, especially when a giant flame dragon is involved. The five minutes of gameplay from Ninja Gaiden 3 seen above deliver on all of that and so, so much more. Bonus: We've dropped an extra Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus trailer just below.

Ninja Gaiden 3′s Regent of the Mask wants Ryu to suffer

Team Ninja has released a new developer diary for Ninja Gaiden 3, which gives the viewer a look in the thoughts process behind the development of the game as well as its story and characters.

ninja-gaiden-3-ryu-and-regent.jpg

In the game, Ryu will be haunted by many people he’s killed in the past, thus the reason his right arm is cursed with the aptly named Curse of the Dragon Sword.

Ryu will be tormented by inner conflict which is a result of karma coming down upon him due to all the deaths he has inflicted. This inner conflict will reveal itself in both a human and more savage side, providing players with a bit of drama.

According to the developers, other characters in the game will play important roles in the story, such Regent of the Mask – Ryu’s rival in this game. The fella is not only a Master Alchemist, but pretty damned good with a sword as well and wants to see Ryu suffer.

Another character, an Air Self-Defense Force member named Mizuki, will also play an important role which according to the developers is one of the “greatest secrets of Ninja Gaiden 3.”

Ninja Gaiden 3 is slated for release on March 20 in the US March 23 in Europe.

Thanks, Siliconera.

Update

Ninja Gaiden 3 screens show blood, fighting, swords, the usual

New screenshots for Ninja Gaiden 3 are posted below, and they are lovely to behold as usual – even if this batch looks like someone went insane with the sharpening tool in their photo editing program. Still, they’re nice, and you can thank Andriasang for bringing them to our attention. Ninja Gaiden 3 is slated for release on March 20 in the US March 23 in Europe.

Ninja Gaiden 3 video shows ten minutes of London action

There may not be any dismembered limbs, but this Ninja Gaiden 3 gameplay footage has plenty to offer.

This is a Japanese promo, but hack and slash is a universal language.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 20 in the US and March 23 in Europe; a Wii U version will follow. It has four-player competitive online play and includes an easier mode for those unable to cope with the franchise’s legendary difficulty.

Thanks, Siliconera.

Update

Ninja Gaiden 3 Clan Battle and Ninja Trials detailed

Ninja Gaiden 3′s multiplayer isn’t just about cutting up other ninjas. Oh, alright, yes it is.

20120313ninjagaiden3.jpg

Ninja Gaiden 3′s multiplayer mode is called “Shadow of the World”, according to the blog of Tecmo Koei European community manager Chin Soon Sun.

One mode, called Ninja Trails, can be tackled alone or in co-operative play. Players must complete trials such as using specific skills to score kills, and will be rewarded with Karma, which allows for character progress.

The second mode, Clan Battle, pits two groups of four ninjas against each other in team deathmatch. Interestingly, players will occasionally receive orders to stalk and off their own teammates, adding a nice paranoid twist. This mode also allows for the collection of Karma.
There’s a training mode, and players can customise their ninjas.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 20 in the US and March 23 in Europe. A Wii U version is to follow.

Thanks, Siliconera.

Update#2

Ninja Gaiden 3 launch trailer released

The launch trailer for Ninja Gaiden 3 has been released. Watch it below. Ninja Gaiden 3 is out next week on March 20 in the US March 23 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Retailer lists Ninja Gaiden 3 special edition with bloody sword Move accessory [update: it's real, kind of]

ng3313.jpg

One week before the release of Ninja Gaiden 3, a previously unseen special edition has popped up on the website of Canadian retailer Video Games Plus. The set inclues a PS3 copy of the game and a special "Dragon Sword" accessory for PlayStation Move that mimics the appearance of Ryu Hayabusa's sword. Or, to put it another way, is a tiny bloody foam sword.

We haven't seen this edition for sale anywhere else, so it's potentially either a Canadian exclusive or something that didn't actually make it to production. It's different from the known collector's edition, anyway. We're asking Tecmo Koei now. We just want to know if we and other mature adults will be able to play this M-rated game with a toy sword.

Update: Tecmo tells us the sword is a real item, "okayed" by Tecmo but not 100% official. The bundle, from what we understand, is not an official Tecmo thing. We've asked for more info about its availability.

Ninja Gaiden III to receive free DLC packs

Tecmo Koei will push out free content updates for Ninja Gaiden III fans.

20120314ninjagaiden3.jpg
http://andriasang.com/con0a4/ninja_gaiden_3_dlc/
Andriasang reports the DLC was briefly mentioned in this week’s Famitsu.
Although details are slim, it seems the packs will mostly focus on new weapons for Ryu Hayabusa’s arsenal. A claw and a scythe were mentioned.

The packs have not been confirmed for western release but the publisher is usually quite thorough in bringing extra content over. No word on further updates or paid packs, but as Ninja Gaiden III sports a multiplayer mode it seems quite probable.

The tough-as-nails Ninja Gaiden 3 releases on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on march 20 in the US and March 23 in Europe. A Wii U version is to follow.

Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC screens are bloody marvelous

Ninja Gaiden 3 hasn’t even been released yet, but screens for the game’s DLC have already surfaced.

Andriasang is reporting that the screens you see here are of free DLC that will come out before the paid DLC. The new weapons are Moukinsou and an Eclipse Sythe. There are also screens from new clan battle stages. Try not to get blood on yourself while looking at them.

Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC videoed, screened for PS3 and 360

Team Ninja has announced the release of Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360. The content should be made available for each system as it updates. The DLC includes the Falcon’s Talons for use in the single-player campaign and the Metal Claws for the multiplayer modes. In addition, the Ninja Trials packs, additional equipment items and a new multiplayer stage are available for download. There’s also a new Ultimate Ninja difficulty coming on April 24 which will remain free for a month. Check out the video below as well as the screenshots.

[h=1]PSA: Ninja Gaiden 3 'Ninja Pack 2' DLC swings a big scythe today[/h]

Swords are a bit too inefficient for our liking. We enjoy weapons that can kill dudes by the dozen in one massive, sweeping motion. The Ninja Gaiden 3 "Ninja Pack 2" DLC adds an enormous scythe to Ryu's arsenal and the multiplayer side of the game. There's also new armor and headgear, and 20 new trials to conquer, for 800 MS Points ($10) on Xbox Live and $9.99 on PSN.

Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC adds Ultimate Ninja difficulty – for free

This week’s content drop for Ninja Gaiden 3 includes a much requested feature – a hardcore difficulty setting.

20120426ninjagaiden3.jpg

The new feature is likely to put a few noses out of joint, as many series fans mourned the lowered difficulty of this latest entry, but as it’s entirely free until May 24, it’s hard to complain.

You’ll have to grab Ultimate Ninja difficulty through your console network storefront, but the game will also benefit from an automatic update adding in a whole new multiplayer mode.

Tecmo Koei has also pushed out a bunch of new items and ninja trials; you can grab all of these bonuses individually or in the Ultimate Ninja bundle for 800 MS Points or the regional equivalent of $9.99.

Thanks, GameInformer.
