I find it surprising that most of us forgot about Jump Festa this year. Even more surprising though is that a new Final Fantasy Versus XIII gameplay trailer has been shown there. Of course it was only a short trailer and it was shown in, you guessed it, Square Enix's infamous Closed Mega Theatre. I can't help but feel a little nostalgic at the moment.

The trailer begins with Noctis waiting on a highway and then being picked up by a car. It then speeds off. The entire trailer is in real time and apparently looks stunning (especially the lighting).

The tiny trailer ends with "Revelation will come next time". Let's hope we don't have to wait for the next trailer as long as we did for this one.

Urgh- the closed theatres- I absolutely detest it when they do that :rage:

Then again it's not surprising they would use a closed theatre when actual gameplay footage will be shown. I'm really looking forward to seeing Nomura's and his team's genius being at work here. I've had my attention on Versus for a while now :ryan:

Next time will probably be E3. If they hurry up and prepare something for it of course- which will probably be in another Closed Mega Theatre :rage:
 
I think I ended up losing my interest in Versus about a year ago :wacky: The amount of info been released over a year is stupid, then we they do it's in a closed theatre D:
Closed theatres are stupid anyway, people end up secretly videoing what's inside, so it's only a matter of waiting for an upload :ryan:
 
Square Enix Teases Final Fantasy Versus XIII Reveal

December 21, 2009 - There's good news and bad news to report today regarding Final Fantasy XIII sister project Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

The good news is that a new trailer for the game was shown at the Jump Festa event in Chiba over the weekend.

The bad news is that the trailer was a total tease, lasting just about a minute. It showed main character Noctis waiting for a car on the side of a highway on a bright, sunny day. The car arrives, Noctis gets in, the car speeds off, and that's it!

There's more good news, though! That one minute of footage was all real time, and looked absolutely stunning, with detailed character and environment models, and realistic lightning.

Even better news came at the end of the trailer, which contained the text "Work in Progress. Revelation will come next time." This sounds to us like a hint that a full unveil for Versus XIII is coming soon. Final Fantasy XIII is now out in Japan, so wouldn't be too surprising.

But when is soon,? A likely candidate for a full unveil would be E3, but that would mean a half year wait for more information.

Let's hope the revelation comes before that.

I am so excited for this game, it's not even funny. I wish I could show you the trailer, as it was leaked to gametrailers, but gametrailers removed it so no dice. Still, something to look forward to!
 
Why are they constantly doing things like that to the fans?! It drives people like me nuts!!! I'm going to go crazier waiting for this game, I just know it.
 
Both threads dwindling on the same thing so I'll merge them. Y'know, I have this odd feeling that a release date won't be far off being announced, I know that might sound odd with the lack of news and FFXIII just being released but FFXIII was delayed because of it being ported to the 360 and a lot of effort seemed to be going into the advertising area over the past few weeks rather than the game whereas the development of FFXIII Versus just seems to have been plodding along nicely without any distractions :wacky:
 
It's absolute bullshit the way that they do this to the fans. We've been itching for some Versus XIII news for awhile now, and they turn around and tease us with a trailer and won't even release it for the fans to see? It's fucking ridiculous. It's like dangling a toy in front of a cat who wants the toy and can't get it. :rage:

inoerite :mokken: I don't even see the point of the closed theatres since it'll only get released in a few weeks anyway >.> It's hardly even closed, they tried to enclose it with a huge canvas of the Birth By Sleep logo, but the canvas was pretty seethrough. Epic fail. :wacky:
