Cloud is definitely a role model, I'd say for the FF franchise, because he is truly a well rounded character. He matures throughout his stories, and I find that very remarkable.

Haha, yeah! Cloud is pretty... clueless at times. That's one of my favorite signature actions of Cloud's. His headscratch it's so boyish and cute.

i always liked how Cloud can be so completely awesome but then so adorable when he does stuff like that or gets nervous about something. it's so unique. I love seeing the soft side to a bad-ass.


Also, did anyone else notice, Cloud's a bit of a sexist D: oh well, at least he's a cute sexist.

Five words to describe Cloud Strife in my opinion and why:
1) Determined-He shows over and over in VII, as well Advent Children that he's determined. He faces the unknown and his own fears to save the world and to confront his demons. He is determined to do what ever it takes to reach those goals.
2) Brave-The fact that he's so determined, and the way he shows us he is makes him brave. The way that he faces his demons, even if it brings up a troubling past, in order to face the truth and to stop his own personal nightmare takes a lot of guts to me!
3) Sexy-Come on now, look at that bod, and that hair! If he was a real guy, you'd definitely want to get with him and stare at those big blue...eyes. Those big blue eyes!
4) Funny: Sure, he can be a pretty serious guy, but it just adds to his humor! The way he tells people to buzz off can be just hilarious sometimes, especially when done to good 'ol Barret.
5) Loveable. Come on, look at that face? It's so sweet and loveable! Not to mention he put himself on a limb just to help those he cared about most!

My favorite cameo of Cloud in another series is probably his cameo in Kingdom Hearts. He appears to be a real rigid, tough guy, but he's really looking for his 'light' (Aerith? ) and he's determined to find it. He's really a softy! Also, I loved his outfit and the little bit during the credits when he and Aerith reunite. OH man!

Favorite Cloud weapon...gotta go with the good 'ol Buster. It's been passed around a lot, and has served itself well with all of its wielders (Angeal, Zack). It just has a long history of kicking arse!

Favorite Cloud hairstyle...gotta go with the original FF7 look. The spikier the better, I always say! It's Final Fantasy, not boring Americans living on the farm game.

1. Stealthy Since he almost never says much in comparison with other FF protagonists you never really notice when hes around. Hes like a ninja.
Rebel Hes always fighting the man and fighting the powah.
Tragedy His lover got sucked into the time space continuum or some jazz.
Hero Always has to save the world or the whales -- something.
Utilitarian Not much about Cloud appears ostentatious or excessive. He has no vices, no apparent weaknesses and no major personality faults. Just 100% kick ass.

2. Cloud in Final Fantasy Tactics. Mainly because I haven't played dissidia, kingdom hearts & other games. I don't game much & am very careful about how often I game as its addicting enough that I'll wind up putting 12-18 hour straight gaming days in if I'm not careful.

3. Buster sword. No need for frilly gimmicky weapons, only the bare essentials.

4. Super saiyan afro is super saiyan afro to me. I'm not one to harp upon petty details -- for the most part Cloud's hairdoo looks fairly consistent to me.

Five words to describe Cloud Strife in your opinion? And why?

1.Manly.
This counts, right? Good. I pick manly because, before AC came out and showed Cloud as some flawlessly hot guy, I always assumed he was supposed to be like some hard-shelled-cold guy physically. And I know some say he's... *grits teeth* "girly looking"--but I think Cloud carries a lot of manly attributes to him. He corrected Barret's orders when they were building seventh heaven (shows he's a man that knows how to fix things), he has a tire in his room (means he likes to tinker on vehicles--and oil covered Cloud is always manly ), he drives a motorcycle (if they're not covered in tats and leather--this is so manly), and... I think his rudeness to people is kinda actually manly. Usually Japanese video game characters are kinda happy-go-lucky like Tidus, and Cloud is far from happy-go-lucky, that's for sure. I like how with his friends he's kind, but to others he couldn't care less. Example of this, when Reno says they're buddies and Cloud kicks the door.

MAN-LY

2. Sweet.
Okay, I know he's a jerk to some people sometimes. But I love how Cloud has a soft spot for kids. In VII, he gave a flower to Marlene--which is too sweet. And even though he didn't want to at first because of obvious reasons, he did CPR on Priscilla. In CoT, Cloud really takes such an adorable roll in their lives. I love how Cloud will sit with them and teach them how to write and read and figure out maps--it's so adorable. And then in AC, he's so sweet to Marlene and Denzel--saving them like that even though he didn't wanna go to that place.

3. Strong.
Now, he's strong in two different ways. First being physically. The man can swing around two heavy weapons at once and kick butt--but I do like how Cloud shows a bit of realism in how he shows difficulty in doing so. But he's also strong because even when he's failing or has no chance of winning, he always pulls through and manages to win in a believable yet epic way.

And, he's strong because all the crap he's dealt with in his life. He's strong enough to pull through the squalls of trouble, whether physically or mentally. I mean, it must have been so embarrassing for Cloud to have been telling his friends he did stuff he didn't really do. Did he cry about it after? No. He maned up and moved on from it.

4. Cocky.
I know he can doubt himself sometimes but in certain situations he's pretty freaking cocky. I think if he was with a woman he'd have an air of cockiness towards them in intimate situations, if that makes sense. Maybe confidence is a better word in this area? but either way, he's cocky in other places of his life, too. I think his fight against Sephiroth in AC is pretty cocky


5. Sexy.
What's not to like about Cloud's golden skin, or his cute spikey hair style and emotionless blue/green eyes Not to mention, the man has the best biceps and pecs around.

What? Your kidding me right? No, Nomura makes the characters, he directs them and writes them, he was both artist and original story/writer. Hence why when he directed Advent Children HE chose to make Cloud express emotion with his eyes and gave him a stiff upper lip and said that quote I posted before; bcause he controlled characteristics and personality, that's why he is the one being interviewed in Dismantled and the Ultimania's, that's why he's the one with authority to be able to say Tifa's a sweetheart or Clouds a jerk, or Aerith's a whatever -- because he CREATED THE CHARACTERS.

So let me sum that up; he designs them and he writes to story as well. So when he says a character is a jerk; its because he has authority too.

So, no you don't got me thar If you have ever read the Ultimania's or Dismantled ~ or hell, even opened the pamphlet to Final Fantasy VII -- you surely would have known this.

1) FIVE WORDS:

1. Shy I mean, come on. His entire story and life was determined because of his inability to tell his crush that he, well.... had a crush. xD Cloud is just a shy person whenever the topic gets too personal. It's an immense part of his character and is part of the reason why he doesn't talk very much, and as such this trait shouldn't be ignored.

2. Weak Obviously not in a physical sense (it'd take a lot of power to lug that sword around!) but as a character and in personality, he's a weak dude. Even Cloud admits it. He isn't confident, he isn't self-assured, he isn't bold and daring. He isn't the life of the party. He's the total opposite of Zack. It's because of his weakness that he's defined as a Classic Anti-Hero, and thus makes him such a popular character. Only because of his friends and some grade-A mind plumbing did he rise to the occasion and, after all those years of hating himself for being weak, he discovered that he was actually.... a badass.

3. Badass Which brings me to my next word! Seriously -- Cloud is a total badass. Been training since he was young -- check. Constantly pushing himself to be better -- check. Uses a weapon no one else could use -- check. Saves the world on multiple occasions -- triple check! When it comes to things like friendships and relationships and cooking, he may totally fail and be unsure of himself. But when it comes to dishing out the damage, well.... that is, quite frankly, Cloud's element. The man was born to dominate in battle. He's like a new person when fighting, one that is totally confident and in his capabilities. Not to mention, he enjoys fighting a great deal.

4. Dedicated I can't think of a more dedicated character than Cloud. First, there's the promise he made to Tifa. He made that promise when he was fourteen. Almost ten years later, he still holds himself accountable for everything that happens. Hot damn. Secondly, there's the deal he made with Aerith, promising to be her body guard. In AC, he's definitely being hard on himself for not fulfilling that role to a T (though he really can't be blamed). Third, he was the natural leader of the group for a reason -- he kept them all on a strict goal: Killing Sephiroth, by whatever means possible. His success cannot be understated.

When the man says he's going to do something, he damn well sees that it's done. No matter what the nature of the matter is, or how hard it may be to accomplish. Now, I wonder if that would apply if he promised to sweep the kitchen floor....

5. I'm not gonna say SEXY because everyone stole that already. Instead, I'll say SNARKY/SARCASTIC. Play the game, you'll see he actually tosses around jokes a few times, and takes some friendly needling from his friends too. I mean, we can't forget when the woman on the beach asked him to apply some sunscreen, can we? What did he say?

"With pleasure!"

Or how about in AC, when Reno admits that he's good and Cloud's only response is to lock the door? Or when he says he jammed on Tifa's piano?

2) Never actually seen him in anything but KH, and I didn't that at all. It looked like he mugged Vincent and ran away with his cape before he got shot. xD

3) Favorite Weapon: I'm gonna have to go with the Fusion Swords here. That is freaking awesome. I mean, talk about giving One Piece a run for it's money, right?

Zoro: I use three swords! I am the most amazing swordsman in the world!
Cloud: I use six swords.
Zoro: D: wtf.....

LOL! Anyway, as for the in-game weapons, I really like Ragnarok and Ultima weapon. Both are pretty awesome swords, and I like how Ultima is see-through.

4) AC hairstyle, hands down. I liked the original 'do, but in comparison to AC, the new one is just much better. No more cowlick!

Yes! I totally loved this one! Cloud is Snarky and Sarcastic; and it really shows in FFVII a lot and maybe some of the KH games too; but definitely FFVII and AC. (I love watching him kick the door on Reno, and when he says "In my head"; too sexy)

I almost forgot about Cloud jamming on Tifa's piano I can't believe he said "jammed" in a musical sense he's so quirky!

I guess I will answer this one, although my answer will be lame so, I can never personally think of these things very well. But here goes nothin'I'll answer the rest later I just wanna focus on this one right now.

Simplistic - And here's why; Because despite saving the world he truly is a simple man, he's not super intelligent, super strong or super anything; even before he saved the world few people actually took notice to him because unlike Zack or Tifa he wasn't popular or cool and he didn't have a lot of friends, but even as it went on to Before Crisis and Crisis core he found friends; he finds his own way and eventually gets a purpose of his own in FFVII and conquers his own problems in Advent Children and beat his own bad guys -- both inner and outer, lets face it not knowing vegetable and fruit names is an inner demon of his. And even Aerith calls him simplistic and "awkward" -- and I think she said it well. But despite not being the super popular, super famous ladies man that Zack was and actually being the exact opposite -- we still love him anyway. And before he even became Mako infused he still had his own strength and power.

Fortitude - Despite needing help from Tifa and Aerith to correct his mental issues and memory problems, I'd say he fits this word pretty damn well. Because he has got to have a hell of a lot of fortitude to endure what he has both physically and mentally :/ Sure people aided him when he was mental but anyone elde in that position wouldn't have even made it through to get help, and lets not forget the wounds he's endured by Sephiroths hand, both in Mt. Nibel and in the Midgar Advent Children fight. And lest face it someone with a practically cracked mind refusing the control over himself to not kill a woman has got a lot of fortitude. I am sure I'm forgetting other but this basically covers my point. He's a Fortitudinous fella if I do say so myself.

Awkward - Poor Cloud, he is always getting into awkward situations and for this I call him an awkward man, and that little head scratch he does says it all anyway, he IS an awkward guy. Trying to make friends and only ending up getting hated by an entire town, dressing up like a woman, having no choice but to perform CPR on an unconscious minor, being carried by Hercules like he's a sack of potatoes, a 16 year old girl putting the moves on him and Sephiroth tossing him around Midgar like its nothing, and on the possible occasion being in a hot-tub with a bunch of male prostitutes; Cloud has had his fair share of awkward situations he himself is presumably an awkward guy and I for one take Aeriths word when she calls him such.

Realistic - Cloud's no daydreamer, he's basically a realist, or a cynical ass one of the two, I mean in near death situations his words are either "We're doomed" or "Its over" one of those two; I actually recall him saying this on Cids airship specifically when things start to go haywire when something falls on Cid. When Tifa and Marlene tell him a joke in Case of Tifa his answer: "That's not possible", faced with an incurable disease: he gives up to go die, friend says she's all alone; he says "Yeah, we don't have anywhere or anyone to go home to.". He's a pretty realistic guy, I don't think the word idealist applies to him at all. I can recall few times where he showed a sunny disposition in FFVII, and they are very few. And even in Dissida he's all "Come what may"; and if that doesn't scream realist then I haven't the foggiest clue what does.


Cold - When you can tell a nice guy who wants nothing more then to be friends with you to "blow off" you are a pretty cold guy, now I am talking James Dean cold not Clint Eastwood cold. I mean Reno wanted to be friends and he kicked a door in his face, in Dissidia when everyone makes a joke and laughs he stays silent, Squall asks him to go fighting again sometime and he says "Not interested", messages pile up on his phone, he told 16 year old Yuffie he didn't care about her feelings or Town history, he keeps distance between himself and others and the only guy who's colder then him is Vincent and Cloud admires that (hence dressing like him in KH) AND when Cloud says something genuinely nice their reaction is; "Gee, Cloud...... that's so nice of you to say that. ......You sick?"

LOL I know, isn't it great! The man is so funky, he's always doing something that just makes you tilt your head to the side then burst out laughing. When I first played the game, I totally saw him wearing that expression on that emote when he said that. It was like a flash of connection, if that makes sense.

Okay, need some liveliness.

If you ever met Cloud, what would you say to him?

My list is simple.

1) I'd thank him for all he's done for the world, despite all the shit he went through.
2) I'd tell him that millions of people have faith in him even if he has none in himself.
3) I'd note the disappointing lack of spiky-haired babies.
4) I'd ask his opinion on which combat style he prefers, eastern or western. Also, what guard does he find most effective? Ox? Queen? Von Tag?
5) Where does he get his hair cut!? (This question drives me nuts! How the hell would someone even begin to strategize cutting that hair? I'd want to shake the hand of that stylist/barber.)

When I meet wacky Cloud, I'll jump up and down and scream. Then I will ask him to show me Omnislash He would be completely charmed by me and show me his moves. Then I will ask him why he ever even wasted his time with Tifa/Aerith/Yuffie/whoever when I'm right here waiting for him! Then he would have an epiphany and realize I'm the one for him, and he'd carry me off and we'd go on a date at the Gold Saucer, where we'd go on that roller coaster
