For me it's FFX hands down, the sidequests are so bloody annoying :wacky: Getting some of those sigils made me want to kill someone, srsly

The Dark Aeons are also a pain in the arse, they are just such swines. I have been working on the same file for as long as I can remember

Getting round tha sphere grid is a time consuming pain in the backside aswel

This however is also why X is one of my fave games ever because I actually feel like I have achieved something when I FINALLY beat a hard boss (or dodge 200 lightning bolts in a row -_-)

It's just so bloody infuriating :monster:

Yeah, it was X for me too. The sidequests are what got me! Especially dodging the two hundred lightning bolts. I'd rather be doing something else. Besides, when I get mad, I don't play for a week and then I miss out on good gameage. Seriously though, the chocobo race deal. Just no. No . No. No. I never got that either. xD I'm hopeless.

FFXII.
I'd have loved that game, if 70% of the game time wasn't spent on side quests. Not to mention...side quests with no real prizes, since the Espers were a waste of effort, and there was always plenty of money, making the hunts not so necessary.

FFVIII, the controls were clunky, I hated the battle system and the storyline and characters make me want to die.

And, by the 15th attempt, I didn't really CARE if Rinoa was lost in space forever.

Mystic Quest... the gameplay, the story, the effort it takes, everything... its just pathetic... Legend 1-3 and Adventure would easily be runners up, though. All those games sucked, and spending my money on games that suck really tends to piss me off... and then there's Crystal Chronicles... heh... yeah... lots not even go there.

Probably Final Fantasy Tactics. All the business with leveling up jobs to acquire different classes got to be a pain. Tactics required a different approach.

Great game, but I found myself getting annoyed with it often.

XII. Game made me constantly feel like I was PMSing. So many things about that game pissed me off:

1. Having to walk EVERYWHERE. Exploration is fine and dandy, but I do not want to spend 50% of my game time walking everywhere. Even with teleport crystals there is still an assload of walking.

2. Time limits on chocobos. Seriously, what idiot came up with that idea?

3. I couldn't play for Archades. They had the right motives and the most interesting characters (like Cid), but noooo, I had to help a stuck-up, ungrateful, spoiled brat get her precious nethicite and help the Occuria stay in control.

4. Summons were complete shit. You couldn't command them and half the time they were too stupid to unleash their strongest attack before they got killed from being bum rushed.

5. At lvl 99, everyone's highest HP was approximately 6000. It was a pain having to either keep the bubble belt on or use the spell constantly and drain MP. Given the massive amounts of damage some hunts and optional bosses could deal out, a break HP limit would have been really nice.

6. That damn bazaar. I'm used to synth shops being expensive, but the bazaar prices were just ridiculous. And to make matters worse, you had to have extremely rare items, some of which were near impossible to get unless you were a high enough lvl to survive the monsters you had to obtain them from (and by then it was likely you didn't even need to bother with stronger weapons).

7. The goddamn chest spawns. This was hands down the most infuriating aspect of the game. Games get you used to the whole "work your ass off, get to a hard area, open the chest and you get a win item." But nope, they had to toss that out in XII and instead go for "work your ass off, get to a hard area, open a chest and now you have a CHANCE to get a win item." Complete and utter bullshit. I don't know how many times I spent running back and forth three screens to get chests to respawn.

I really could keep complaining about this game all night, but I cba to list out everything.

^ He pretty much summed it up.

FFXII was soo infuriating!!! It took me FOREVER to do all of the sidequests, not to mention the leveling up it took in order to complete them. If you add that to everything Carnage said, this game made me use more than a few choice words.

X is pecking m head beyond all imagining at the moment. I never want to play it again atm v_v

I would like to throw it out of my window and stamp all over it until theres nothing left

FFX-2

Because they wasted the greater role Shuyin and Vegnagun could have. Vegnagun looked great, but was easily pawnable, and Shuyin was just a simple fight, at least better than fighting Yu Yevon (Yevon, after beating the summons)I would have made a prequel instead of a sequel. Shuyin and Vegnagun had great design, and Shuyin was even better and less annoying than Tidus. FFX-2 and the whole plotline and also the attempt to copy "Charlie's Angel" in this game ruined it.

I would have loved playing a game as Jecth, Auron being the main character since he is the only one between Braska, Jecht and himself, who is a playable character in FFX. Or perhaps playing before the Zanarkand War, on either Bevelle's or Zanarkand's side. Braska and Lenne were both summoners, so we would still be able to summon, not like in FFX-2....

Also I would like, if this were to be ever done, a Final Boss who is not disappointing. Come on they can't be that retarded to make the same mistake with the same storyline three times in a row ;)

I was actually very good at the games in FFX, so I didn't really have a problem with it. The most infuriating game was probably FFX-2, because of how good it could have been even though it was an add-on that probably shouldn't have existed in the first place. At some times I was having so much fun, but at others I was just annoyed and bored. A flawed system, a flawed storyline, and flawed mini-games (especially Blitzball).

Agreed. X-2 was particularly annoying because of the sudoku minigame and how you got so little exp from monsters, even ones that were the same lvl as you or higher.

Also, this thread needs a poll :elmo:

Most infuriating? Probably FFVII annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd...FFI.

FFVII - Not terrible as such...but the gameplay was boring, and everything was just so depressing.

FFI - I like challenges, but this was ridiculous.

Final Fantasy X for the pure reason that the Sphere Grid was a terrible invention. It should've been optional... Surely you could've chosen a levelling up system instead? >_<

FFI was also irritating... It was boring to be frank, and so hard to get a hang of. Funny how it was the beginning of something so good. :P

I tried to add a poll, but you either can't edit the fred with one or Im thick and don't know how to do it :wacky:

Nope, for some inane reason only mods can edit in polls. Needs to be changed, imo :neomon:

VII had some infuriating moments to it...the worst being that stupid snowy mountain or w/e it was called. Ugh, hiking around in all different directions in the blizzard trying not to get lost, then scaling up the mountain and always having to stop so you wouldn't freeze. The chocobo races were pretty horrible too.

hah yeah that blizzard was a pain in the butt, the amount of times I got lost >_<

I think FFII is a pain in the arse aswel, I point blank refuse to even play that game anymore and I barely got an hour into it. Stupid skill levelling thing -_-

I agree with you 100% and you win at this thread

I agree with you 100% and you win at this thread

Why thank yew :wacky: Maybe I'll go ahead and continue that list of XII annoyances:

8. The amount of HP bosses and hunts had. Seriously...why? What was the fucking purpose? It just drags out battles and makes them boring. It's always pissed me off how in action games *glares at Onimusha* you figure out a boss pattern in the first minutes and have to keep hacking at it for another 10 minutes because the HP is so high. Well thanks to the brilliant people at SE, we now have that in our FFs. I mean it takes 1 to 2 HOURS to beat Yiazmat. There's no excuse for that.

9. Gambits. I've said it plenty of times before and I'll say it again: games are meant to be actively participated in. When you have a system that you can fine-tune so much that you can leave the game on overnight, come back in the morning and your party is STILL alive (Negalmuur, anyone?), it's not much of a game. And I realize you have the option of playing without them, but the game practically forces you to use them if you don't want battles to take ages or survive the tougher hunts.

10. Clan Centurio. Now it isn't the clan itself that infuriates me, rather, it's that some of the characters you encounter in it and its hunts are more interesting than main characters. Like say, that one bangaa (I forgot his name) who was tracking the person going around killing hunters.

11. No double wield. With the enormous amount of weapon choices given to you in the game, you would THINK it would be reasonable to let your character double wield like Zidane (hell, even Tactics Advance lets you double wield). But nope, instead they just gave you useless things like rods and hand bombs.

12. The Zodiac Spear. I had to mention this. It was obviously a gimmick to make you buy the strategy guide. Ever since we were little, games like Zelda and Final Fantasy and everything in between have conditioned us to OPEN chests when we see them. The worst thing that could happen was a Mimic or some other monster popping out. X even gave you chests to open IN battle. But along comes XII with an uber weapon, but to get it you can't open four chests and you'd only know which ones if you had the guide. Now of course there are walkthroughs online...but the accuracy of those would depend on a thorough playthrough which would likely require *gasp* a strat guide.

No you don't win at this thread. Good God, someone had to inflate your e-ego and make come in here and flippeth my lid D: -ismad-

Pfft, complaining about double wielding? OMG, big deal? Does every final fantasy have like..loads of characters double wielding? Noooooooo, nooooooo they don't. So yeah, I have to lol at that comment. Nothing personal, you know, erm, you know how I feel when it comes to FFXII bashing. :wacky:

1-2hrs to take on Yiazmat? Dude, I so did not even think it was possible to defeat him that quickly o.o

You complain a lot. Heck, even more so then me :wacky:

Go to sleep lovey. Before you explode :wacky:
