The price of a gift doesn't always determine how good it is.

I got my aunt a DVD of Labyrinth. I don't know how many people have seen that, but my aunt loves old school movies.
It cost a grand total of 12 dollars, and it made her more happy then any fancy gift.

$12 sounds like a lot for a film that was released in the mid 80s

Labyrinth is a gem, that's why. It's one of Jim Hensen's masterpieces.

Do you want a pat on the back?

I wasn't asking for one.

You know, there is such a thing as making conversation. You don't have to wear your obvious prejudice of me on your shoulders all the time. Get over yourself, please. Thank you :)

If I get alot of money, that'll make me happy!

Anyway, I agree. It doesn't always have to be some big expensive gift.

Sentiment is far more important. The only people I know who would derive more pleasure from knowing the cost of a gift are the superficial, entitled people I see everyday on the reality tv programs my sister watches. 'Don't tell the Bride' and crap like that.

Good call on the Labyrinth too. As the World Falls down is a Bowie classic :D

I saw the Labyrinth in the store today for $10... that's Australian dollars too, that's a bargain.

I went on a dvd shopping spree on boxing day. i also went on a drinking session on boxing day and left my entire bag of films in a pub not noticing til much later on at night when i was at a friends house still drinking. I had around.....19 DVDs i had bought from HMV and Entertainment exchange. This is about the...5th or 6th time ive done this when im drunk and everytime some nice person has handed my bag of films over to the people at the bar / wherever i am. I phoned up the pub i had left them in and once again someone had handed in my films. So i got them all back yesterday. Then went to HMV again to buy another few films.

Its a real good reminder that out in the world there are still some really decent people who will do the right thing. I cant help but wonder when my luck will run out though. Gunna need to be more careful in the future before i lose something very expensive and dont have the luck of having a good samaritan find and hand them over to lost and found for me. Needless to say if i ever find a bag of lost stuff myself i will be sure to hand it over.

we found a bag in the cinema last night and there was an envelope inside that had £100 in it. no one came back to claim it either.

what films did you get?

Do you have a reputation for leaving stuff behind in pubs? Wouldn't it be funny if the regulars were all like "Ugh, he's left aload of stuff behind again." and someone else is like "Ah, I'll go hand it in behind the bar."

Sentiment is more important, Id rather have something cheap that I thought was awesome, than something someone has spent a fortune on, just to say 'was expensive that'

I remember getting my mate a bag that was a whole £2, becasue I just knew it was 'her' and she absolutely loved it. :lew: I prefer thought to go into my gifts both for giving and recieving

Its always in the town so its never in the same bar :lew: Though if i was regularly at only one bar in the town ALL the time i would have that reputation definitely :lew:

cant beleive youve been that lucky everytime hahahaha

Have I ever informed you people how much Labyrinth scared the complete and utter crap outta me when I was a youngin'? :hmmm:

That would be funny. :D Maybe next time you should go to the pubs first and then go 'round the shops. :D
