Missable Enemy Skills?

Trine can also be missed if you're careless to not know that the Boss Materia Keeper uses it.

There ARE ONLY 2 CHANCES to get this skill, and it not easy.

Pandora's Box is not really miss-able since you can go back to the North Crater freely and out if you wish.

However, only Zombie Dragon does it.

Shadow Flare. Although it's not so much missable since you can get it from Sephiroth but one would want to complete the Enemy Skills before Sephiroth. :hmmm:

So if you don't kill Ultimate Weapon, this one is sort of missable, I think. :hmmm:

Tia,

I also think the ZOMBIE DRAGON in the Northern Cave also does Shadow Flare.

Aqualung is also a easily missable skill. The first opportunity to learn this is when you get the buggy. Run around the gold saucer area, (desert) until you fight a chimera, it does Aqualung.

Now that I think about it, you're right. :hmmm:

I think a lot of the enemy skills that seem missable can be found in the Northern Cave. :8F:

I think Trine may be the only one that if missed (at the Materia Keeper and Gaea Cliffs) can no longer be acquired.

Yep.

Although, the major one that's a real pain to get is Trine.

Do you think the creators deliberately only gave the player 2 chances to earn this move?

you can learn Trine from materia keeper. The sad thing is you will only have 2 enemy skill materias by this point. Take the Yuffie side quest and fight one on one until you fight Godo. He will use trine.

A thing about enemy skills is that you can learn it, only as long as the player don't know the skill yet. So say you got two enemy skills equipped and one has Trine and the other one don't. You won't learn trine on the one that didn't have it. Another thing is, you can't teach your characters enemy skills by casting it yourself. Dumb.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was sort of panicking because I thought I couldn't get Shadow Flare because i've only ever been tolled you can get it from Sephiroth, and that would be pointless, but now I know you can get it from the Zombie Dragon, which makes everything awesome :D

Actually, if I remember rightly, you can only get Pandora's Box once, so you have to get it in the first fight as it won't be used again. :hmmm:
I'm sure I read somewhere about that.
Something like the fact that you have to kill it quickly or it'll run out of MP and won't be able to use it as it's finisher move (think Final Attack), but it'll only use it in the first battle of it's own will and you can't Manipulate the attack out of it.

Also, as others have mentioned, Shadow Flare - you can only get that from Ultimate Weapon, Trine - Materia Keeper and Godo, and if I remember rightly Gaea's Cliffs (inside) is the last (or only) chance to get Magic Breath.

Not 100% as I haven't played VII in awhile, but I think that's semi-right at least. :andry:

You are wrong about Shadow Flare. Shadow Flare can also be learned from Ruby Weapon, Safer Sephiroth, and Zombie Dragon who also has Pandora's Box which is another powerful Enemy Skill, not just from Ultimate Weapon.

There's also a monster in the northern crater that uses Magic Breath, if I remember correctly. :hmmm:

Trine, however, can only be acquired the three times mentioned and then can no longer be acquired. It should be easy to learn it from the Materia Keeper though since it uses the spell often.

The monster that you were talking about is the parasites. They too have the Magic Breath attack.

Does'nt the Stilva also have trine? Or aqaulung aswell as magic breath.
Stilva is the the big red lobster guy in the Gaias cliff if you didnt know the name,
If you really desperate for the main Enemy skills apoken of in this thread you can always try the battle arena its the luck of the draw in that place though.

There are some really useless ones like frog song or Lvl 5.....something, you get it from squirels near the chocobo ranch.

Magic hammer is cool you get the from te Shinra mansion and a few other places Dragon force is good for single defence boostsalso northern crater, Death force is kinda handy for the rare monster the can KO you in a single move.

Dont wanna list all of them, but these are the ones i think you can miss if you dont pro-actively look for them.

Or maybe not?
