I picked metal gear because it has more excitement. At least I think it does. Also I like shooting games that has to do with strategy.

I loved MGS3...the ending was the best. But still, in the end MGS1 will always be my favorite.

I was gonna mention the 90 minute cut scene thing a couple days ago, but it turned out to be a false rumor. Apparently it was VERY over exaggerated...which tbh, disappointed me a little bit. I love my MGS and I had gotten hyped to be able to see 'movies' throughout the game. Either way though, I'm sure they will wrap this plot up smoothly.

Anyway, in a recent interview with Kojima he said that this indeed is not the last MGS game. Just the end of Solid Snake's story, but there 100% will be another game. Not sure how I feel about that. I love MGS, but I don't want it to get old. I wanted to see it go out on top with this game. Guess we'll see when the time comes.

To be honest, I've only played Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 on the PS2. I voted for 2 as my favorite, I actually prefer the environments in it over those in MGS3 *coughs* The only thing thats kept me from replaying it as much as MGS3 (four times now I think) is those two damn parts toward the end when you have to swim underwater. I generally end up shooting Emma in frustration once I get out of the water, I hated her anyway. I seem to remember she pisses herself at one point in the game too...or maybe I'm just thinking of when Snake pisses himself in MGS3 from being tortured.

BUT! I finally bought MGS for PSone today, I'll probably get started tomorrow. And I've taken the time to read up on the story lines and characters of MGS and the old Metal Gears so I know what's going on (I practically had to to get half the stuff in Solid 2).

Anyway, in a recent interview with Kojima he said that this indeed is not the last MGS game. Just the end of Solid Snake's story, but there 100% will be another game. Not sure how I feel about that. I love MGS, but I don't want it to get old. I wanted to see it go out on top with this game. Guess we'll see when the time comes.

That's no surprise, really. It's such a successful franchise he'd be crazy to end it, and there's always clones of Big Boss cropping up everywhere anyway. Snake will probably be around till the end of time.

Glad to hear your picking up the original. Personally, its my favorite game of all time. The remake on the gamecube was a huge letdown though, so the PSone version is still the best.
I sold my ps3 recently and I'm getting in the new MGS4 special edition one soon. Totally gonna be a collectible some day.

Didn't they change the original voice actors on the Gamecube remake? I think I remember hearing them say that on GT's retrospective

They're making a MGS4 PS3? Oh god, I want. It probably costs an assload though.

They all sounded dull and rushed. Plus they added in matrix type scenes where Snake dodged bullets, jumped on top of rockets and so on.

Actually the price of the new MGS console is a score. Its GunMetal with a picture of Solid Snake on it. 80gig, with the new rumble controller and MGS game all for $600. The controller itself is 55 and the game is 60 so I think with all that added your coming away with a great deal. Only problem is, they are selling like Hotcakes. A week ago when they went on sale online they all sold out in less then an hour. But on MGS4 release date June 12th Best Buys will be selling more. They expect them to sell at the same speed though. I know tons of people will be camping em like when the PS3 first launched.

lawl, no worries about spoiling the plot, I know how the entire thing plays out, I read up on it online so I wouldn't be all confused in MGS2, but thanks for the consideration

Ugh, I think I remember GT talking about that bullet-time crap. It's really been overused since The Matrix and Max Payne came out. And enthusiasm was lacking and things felt rushed, you say? Sounds like a recent Indiana Jones movie that came out *coughs*

Serious? O_O Damn, that is pretty good. Lesse...$115 for the game and controller, $400 for a normal 40GB PS3. So you're just paying $85 for an extra 40GB and a kickass picture of Snake on it, sounds like a ridiculously good deal actually. Have they said how long they'll be selling it for? Because unless it's for four to six weeks (once I get this job and start getting some paychecks), I got no chances of getting one in time

To be honest, I found it very hard to believe from the start.

I didn't even bother getting hyped up about it... it's not like having 90 minute cut scenes to sit through is exactly an exciting prospect anyway, is it?

I love the MG series, and of course i don't want to end it; however i found very hard to think about a MG game without Solid on it. Kojima needs to create a very charismatic character to avoid to repeat the Raiden issue of almost one hating him.

But Snake Eater doesn't have Solid in it, it has Naked

Now if you're talking about not wanting Metal Gear's main character to stop LOOKING like Naked/Solid/Liquid/Solidus, it's really not an issue. Liquid said there were several other clone embryos created during Les Enfants Terribles, but that they were all destroyed. Who's to say more weren't created that even Liquid doesn't know about, though? Kojima could certainly offer up that explanation if he wanted to, it would be no more ridiculous than Liquid's mind surviving in his arm and being able to take over Ocelot.

Besides, Snake is an icon, I don't think they'd do away with him.

I actually don't mind Raiden that much, I found his girlfriend and Emma to be WAY more annoying. Now as for what's become of Raiden in MGS4, he looks to have become a pretty badass character, so that's certainly welcome.

Sadly, Kojima said that he will definitely not be apart of the newer games, but Kojima company will. But its it makes me wonder how this MGS4 game is gonna turn out (twist wise). Because he went on record stating that Metal Gear SOLID will keep on going. Although, this is gonna be the end of Solid Snake. Not sure if he just meant MG or if MGS still means something.

But anyway, I like all of the metal gear characters. Gray Fox of course is my favorite. Then The Boss, Then Big Boss and then Solid Snake. So I'm sure they can come up with a new great character, because most of em seem to come out great anyway.

I agree, I liked Raiden. He wasn't as boisterous or as "bad-ass" as Solid Snake but he wasn't the big, gay wimp that everyone seems to make him out to be, either.

Let us not forgot that it wasn't Rosemary talking to Raiden throughout the mission, it was Arsenal Gear's AI. So we may never know what she's actually like.

I am also one of the few that liked Emma. IMO her scene is the best in the game, mainly because of her parrot repeating the "Hal, I miss you" line...reminded me of all the bosses death scenes in MGS1, they would always give you a great story afterwards.

He really wasn't a wimp like everyone says...sure, he whined in some parts, but you can't exactly blame the kid when he was being kept in the dark by his CO.

Birthed who, Solid snake? As far as I know Big Boss never impregnated anyone, he was sterile, thus why clones of him had to be created. Then again, the DNA used to make clones of him was taken when he was like 50...so who knows, maybe he had a secret batch of kids before he became a dud.

I didn't know he was sterile...

I did know that he didn't impregnate anyone though, one obvious advantage of this is the fact that Solid Snake, Solidus Snake, and Liquid Snake could have been geneticaly altered to become the perfect soldiers.
