Metal Gear Solid Thread

Metal Gearl Solid 1, but close behind is definately MGS3! MGS2 is still a great game, but not quite as good as the other 2.

I Loved the characters in MGS1, especially Liquid, he had the cool voice! Snake was obviously the best character, and possible the best character ive ever came across in any game, between him and Squall anyway. The Psycho Mantis fight was really cool..all the boss fights were reall coll to be honest! I also loved throwing guards into the lava or off balconys!

MGS2 was a brilliant game too, i didnt like raiden but it didnt really matter. The gameplay was top notch. Getting the dog tags was rather funny! And the sword fighting was awesome..especially in the last battle!

MGS3 is very close to being my favourite, but not quite, du to MGS1's story and characters! I thought the survival method was great, actually watching snake bite into a snake haha! The End sniper boss was awesome, i'm a sucker for snipers lol. And The Boss was really cool!

Ohh i loved this game to the full content!

But, any one shot all those green frog, put all the Bosses to sleep, did anyone find the snakes; Soildus, solid and lique?

I just completed Metal gear 2 solid snake yesterday. Poor big boss :( He was so hard to beat but in the end he was burned alive.

Im in the process of completing Metal Gear but I need to get 4 star ranking to make that woman call me for a rocket launcher.

Metal Gear Solid 4

I've never played any of the games before, should I still buy this one or will it be a sequel/prequel kind of storyline.
I've heard it's really good, but don't know if I should get all the other ones first?

I'd suggest you to play the first 3 games or you'll probably have no idea what the hell is going on as 4 takes story elements from all the Metal Gear games. Also they're on a whole very good games which is a good enough reason to play them.

MGS4 looks awesome, I want to play it soo bad! But I don't have a ps3. Well anyways I think even if you didn't play the other games in the series. It's still worth getting just for shear greatness. lol

I think that MGS4 would be pretty fun even if you haven't played the previous titles, but the story would be confusing as hell.

I can't say which one is my favorite. Everyone has an awesome story, great characters, and a really fun gameplay.

But, i could say that the end of MGS3, almost make me cry.

I've only played MGS3, and reached half way. Thing that put me off was the camera view. Virtually only defect.
If I had the chance, I'd play MGS3 subsistence, which supposedly has a 3D camera view.

I really like the MG series as it a brilliant evolution on the shooter game. It made stealth a mainstay of the shooter genre and gave many game studios inspiration to make shoot 'em up's with a more thought provoking storyline's and more innovative game concepts.

My favourite MG has to be MGS1 as it had the best story, characters and set pieces in the series. I liked MGS2's gameplay and replayability more but the story itself was sorely lacking in some departments.

I think MGS: Twin Snakes would probably be the best MGS (I've never palyed it I'm just going on its concept) as it fuses the graphics, gameplay and AI improvements of MGS2 with the characters, set pieces and story of MGS1.

And to think that i can't stand with the 3D camera of Subsistence. I really like the old camera; i prefer to look my surrounding at the same time; that only the front and keep moving the camera.

Twin Snake is awesome; but to be honest, part of the difficult of the original game is lost with the 1st person view. Most of the bosses are now easier with that camera. Besides that, the TS is as great as the original one.

Metal Gear Solid 2. That game was amazing. I personally prefered Snake's mission on the ship, but I loved Raiden's too. And Fortune, is she just not the coolest character you've ever seen?

I never played MGS3:Snake Eater. I should really get it from ebay and have a play because I played the frst and second and loved them.

Metal Gear Solid 3 was definately my favourite, the story lines good, and the Subsistence camera is much easier to use.

But MGS4 will be the best. ;)

I wouldn't be too sure about that. From what I have seen, they have changed many things from the original cast.

Well, I got subsistence about 2 weeks ago, am much further through it this time. 3D camera definitely makes the game more enjoyable.
The End was actually very easy for me, and the game difficulty is normal. Perhaps I should have started on hard instead.

Play Extreme. It isn't that hard compared to 1 and 2. When you get hit in this game, it takes into account of every bullet unlike before. This makes it harder, surprisingly.

The online demo for MGS4 came out yesterday :monster:
Epic demo is seriously epic.
Can't wait for the full game to come out.
