Okay, I had no idea where to post this thread so I hope I haven't put it in the wrong place.

I just bought Mass Effect 2 for the Playstation. I've watched Mass Effect 1 on youtube (the movie version) and was going to play through the comic so that I get to choose some of the options you get. However, I just realised that because my game is pre-owned I'd have to pay £12. That's rather expensive and I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Do the choices make that much of a difference or are the default choices decent enough?
 
I tried starting a new game of ME2 with default settings once and the choices that came with it were vastly different from what I usually ended up with in ME1. Of course, that's just me...the point of choice is that some people can choose one thing and other people can choose another thing. It might not bother you like it did me. As it is though, you wouldn't exactly know what you're missing out on, so I honestly doubt you'd be frustrated with the given choices at all. They're decent enough, just not the most imaginative. It's kind of like there's a canon story that you're free to deviate from, and if you don't, you end up with a more stock-feeling sci-fi story (if that makes sense).

In other words, do I think you'd be happier being able to make the choices? Yes. But is the £12 worth it for a comic version of ME1? Probably not.

The full game ME1 is only 15 bucks on PSN. I bought it you should buy it its totally worth it! The comic wont do it justice.

I didn't know you could buy the game on the PSN! If I buy it and play it will I be able to transfer my save over into ME2?
 
Yes my brother waha they released ME like in november I think and importing is possible cause I did it hehe.
More great news wednesday they will update EU psnstore and ME3 will be free for PSN+ subscribers!
 
That's great! Well, in that case I'll buy the game and use that transfer :D I can't believe they're charging £12 for the comic when you can get the game for £15 that's pretty weird.
 
I agree main reason why I never tried mass effect was because I never owned a xbox and when ME2 finally came to playstation I still didnt try it because of tht comic.

Last november they released ME full version and I never knew until 1-2 months ago. Bought ME loved it. Bought ME2 loved it and soon ME3 !

Enjoy ME is great!

Do all assignments if possible and get your characters to level 50. When you import to ME2 you'll get a bonus.
 
Actually, Ive just gone to buy it and the game is now £12. So you can get the full game for the same price as some pricey little comic. I can't wait to play it!
