This is my first thread and all so go easy on me:ohshit:

Have played alot Final Fantasy games, some of then completed several times and some of them not so many times, but i really love these games. I am looking for opinions at the place where i now i get the best results, here in FF Forums. Basically what are your thoughts which game i should go play again or which one i haven`t even played and should definitely go through. Finished FF7,8,9(perfect games and played them alot), FF10(pretty good too), FF10-2 and FF12(didin´t like them too much) FF13(beatiful game but lacked something alot). Thanks for responds!

PS. Random guestion, are PS3 versions of FF6,7,8,9 remastered HD?

PPS. Sorry for the bad english and typos:P

Welcome aboard. =)

Go try out the 2D classics first is all I can say. They're largely underrated, what with the advent of FFVII and the 3D revolution and all that, and they contain my personal favourite, which is FF6. I generally think FF4 and FF6 are the strongest of the 2D titles while the rest are decent at best. And shame you didn't really enjoy FF12 that much. It's not perfect, but I definitely found it a lot more enjoyable and larger in scale than FF10 and 13.

FF6, 7, 8 and 9 are all on PSN, but no, they're not remastered. You can't actually remaster any of them like you can with FF10 onwards without completely remaking the visuals from scratch with an HD engine.

I'd have to agree with Fleur and say try out Final Fantasy VI! Then IV. Having played a little of I, a lot of II, and a fair amount of IV and VI, I believe those latter two are the best of the 2D titles. :) Both have incredible stories and a good host of characters with well-written dialogue and (as usual) incredible, albeit dated, music.

The sprites are a nice change from the 3D graphics too; I like how this simpler kind of visual presentation leaves more to the imagination whilst still being clear.

The fact that VII, VIII and IX were your favourites, with X being 'pretty good too,' suggests you enjoy a good story, but you could research I, II, III and V. Although (I've heard) I, III and V don't really have a story, you should still consider the gameplay and how much you'll enjoy the classes in these. =)

Final fantasy VI is a great game. It actully is what got me into final fantasy games and rpgs in general. I know some dislike the 2D graphics but i really didnt mind. If you want to see how the series evolved i would suggest starring from 1 and working your way up. Even though each final fantasy has different battle systems i personally liked all of them. If you like games with jobs then i suggest you play III or V. Also if tactical rpgs are a genre you like then I highly recomend Final Fantasy Tactics.
so basically any games between I and VI would be a great place to start. On another note welcome to the FFF fourms

Play some of the older Final Fantasy games. FF and FF IV are both great, plus there is something incredibly charming about seeing the old 2D sprites

Final fantasy VI is a great game to go back a replay and you cant really go wrong with the psx era. Maybe give 13 another try, I found on the second play through that everything was much smoother, and I found my self appreciating a game that gets much hate for very petty things.
