It's not 10 that you should worry about, 10 Part 2 is the girly game :mad:
 
Im currently about 310 hours into FF XII, I have most items, I'm just training to beat Yiazmat and get my second Zodiac spear.
 
Final Fantasy X is by far the longest game in terms of adding sidequest time on. Obtaining the Celestial Weapons, maxing Blitzball out, unlocking all monsters, defeating the Dark Aeons and maxing your stats usually takes over 100 hours for the average gamer. That's longer than any other FF game.

For the main story, Final Fantasy VIII is probably the longest for an avarage gamer.

Well I would have to agree with the pole that the originals were not as long. But since Final Fantasy VII they have all been pretty long and it really depends on how a person looks at how long a game is to me its actually completing everything get 100% completion.
VII only took me like 15 hours total
VII took like 24 cuz of the stupid items need for the final weapons
IX took like 10 hours(I got excalibur II or I)
X took like 45 hours or so sphere grid
But for me it was XII it took for ever to beat all those hidden summons
(90+Hours for me)

Obtaining the Excalibur II and acquiring the normal Excalibur both on the same file is impossible to accomplish within 10 hours. You would have set a world record if that's the case.

I have gotten Wyrmhero Blade and almost all weapons/acessories/Rare monsters my monster completion was at 99% All of than in 160H
Where did you waste that many hours? >_<

You can level up all characters to LVL100 in a few Hours. Abysteel method.

On Topic: Final Fantasy XII, It has millions of quests you can do, i wasted many worth good hours into that game :P
 
Final Fantasy VI was the longest for me, I can't remember exactly how many hours I spent on it but it sure seemed like a long time as I spread it out over about 5 months :wacky:
 
XII for me is the longest mainly because there is so much to do with leveling, AP points, having to walk on foot most of the time to get somewhere. I still haven't even beaten this game since I had around for 2 years.
 
X for me as i never got to finish it and got to around 60 hours
vii finished in 40
viii finished in 30
 
The FF games that I've played through so far are VIII, IX, X, X-2, and XII. Story-wise I'd say VIII, but on the other hand even though XII's story may seem shorter to me.....it took me longer to beat it since side quests are a must to keep your team balanced with money and equipments, so as to get through the game smoothly. FFVIII was just one event after another, which I really enjoyed from beginning to end.
 
Final Fantasy 10 was the longest! (im not joking)it took me 2 years too beat the game! Maybe most of time i was stuck on those Semour boss fights! after i beat it i never played it again!
 
Final Fantasy XII without a doubt. So many things are yet to be discovered. This is probably the longest game I've even played (excluding The Sims2 because it's never ending). I bought the game at the begginning of last year and I'm only going to Giruvegan. The places in FFXII are so large and realistic I could easily get lost without my map.
 
Gameplay wise, FFXII for me. Like everyone else said, there is so much to do in the game. You can spend countless hours going on all the hunts, looking for the strongest weapons, and getting all the summons. However, the game I have spent the most amount of time on is FFVII. I have the clock maxed out at 99:59:59, and my play clock for XII is at 105:00:05. I know if VII could go over 100 hours it would be close to, if not over 200. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten Sephiroth.
 
For me to get everything in X, it took me about 230 hours...i played VIII for about 190 hours and IX for 170...i'm at 130 in XII right now, but nowhere near done
 
FF X for me it took me just under 400hours to complete it, mainly cause i got caught up in blitzball for about 150hours and yeah i pretty much owned everyone at blitzball, but after that went i had the celestial weapons to collect, he dark aeons to kill without using Yojimbo cause i didn't approve of his methods, so that took me a long time.

Then it has to be FF VII just beacuse i enjoyed playing it so much i didn't want to finish it.
 
VII not only is it long. but you keep playing it over and over! X is more of a play a few times kinda thing. fingers crossed for the new one eh?
