I voted XII, since it's the first I've cracked the 100 hour mark with before beating it. Of course, the story time was pretty anemic, but it took quite awhile still. Most I've averaged at around 40-50 hours, VII included.
 
I have only completed two Final Fantasy games because I am a very slack person. :P Out of the two I completed, VIII took me the longest because I would stop playing it for a while and get back into it eventually. I also ended up at about 110 hours or more because I would leave the game running all day, even when I was away and I would keep forgetting to pause it. I started playing it again recently and it's not taking as long!

Final Fantasy X took me 105 hours I think, once again I may have forgotten to pause but I played that over a couple of weeks and completed it. I played VIII over two years and finally finished it lol. I get very slack when it comes to playing games.
 
I found that VII, X and XII were the longest Final Fantasies for me. VII and X have the longest storylines, but XII has the most hours put into it, because of the sheer amount of sidequests available.
 
Till now the longest time I played a FF and took me more time was with X. Guess it surpassed 160 hours, but I guess it was more than 200 (it´s normal for who wants to defeat the dark aeons)
 
I'd have to say the longest for me were VII and XII. Seven, of course, for it's extremely long story and twelve for the never ending sidequests it offered. I'm scared to look at the game clock and see just how many hours I put into it.. I know it was a lot though.
 
Hmm,depends how yo uplay the game.I think VII or IX.IX because i did all teh side quests and stuff.VII for story-wise and everything :)
 
XII definitely, think it was the tournesol that racked up the hours, didn't get everyone to level 99 and still weighed in at over 150 hrs! VII and VII both into the hundreds, IX was really short! and X was also quite long bout 130.

however couldn't be bothered with Penance in X so i think considering everything that you can do, X is probs the longest!

XII was the longest for me, not counting sideqwuests or story shizz, it just took me the longest time to complete first time, it just went on and on
 
For me too, XII was simply massive. Even if you don't do the sidequests and hunts, you are still going to take a long time to finish it.
 
Easily 9 my disk 4 cracked from heat before i could complete it Vii i completed in 3 days and 8 i completed 67 Hours
 
Hmmm, I can't really remember what my longest was although I had something like 150 hours on FFXII, mainly because of levelling and side quests etc. Although I could also have spent the longest on FFIX because that game was just epic, no denying it really.
I'm going for FFXII though.

Which FF is the longest to you guys? I'm not talking about the most difficult I'm speaking strictly in terms of game size and quests and what not.
 
FFVIII seemed to be the longest for me, what with trying hard not to level up at all and always drawing 300 magics from every monster I passed. Then get maximum stats on all my characters. Getting all the Guardian Forces. Upgrading weapons... Card collecting quest to beat, refining items into Heroes and Holy War Trials, etc.
 
It would depend on how you are measuring. Do you mean on a standard play through completing everything a speed run Cutscenees or no cutscenes
 
Probably FFX. Getting all the celestial weapons and completing the calm area etc took along time.
FFXII seemed the longest, because I found it boring, but that's not what you mean is it.
 
Thanks for the input everyone. I didn't really think of all those factors that were mentioned above. I guess counting watching all the cutscenes, getting every item, and beating every extra boss and quest which one is the longest in hours. I know some games can seem long because they are boring but in actual hours.
 
well i normally take most time on FFX as i enjoy collecting Celestial weapons for Yuna and Tidus (although they are thee easy ones) but i also like customizing my other characters good weapons, also collecting all the Aeons, beating their dark counter parts, playing Blitzball (ALOT) finding the best team (although i normally stick with a certain team) completing the monster arena part of the game and all
 
I'd agree with X. Celestial weapon and monster arena, it's a game I like to complete as fully as possible.
 
I have never played X. I have some friends who are all about it. I guess I judged and never gave it a chance , it looked to girly for my taste. I should check it out.
