Unfortunately for me, I've locked myself out of the house several times in the past couple of years because I either forgot the key to the front door or I accidentally locked the lock from the inside. The thing about the last part is that there's already a key stuck in the keyhole so you can't really open it with a key from the outside either...I hope that makes sense.

Anyways, it happened to me again yesterday. :monster:

I had to break in through my own window and open it from the inside.

Anyone else had this laughable and ridiculous circumstance happen to them. :(

I've got just one question. How did you get a key stuck in the keyhole?

Yes. :jtc:

When I lived in the apartment across the hall, I did it three or four times. The door automatically locked behind me when I left, so if I walked out of the house without my keys on me, I was SOL. Eventually I got smart and cut a duplicate key and stashed it out in the entryway.

Just the other day I locked my keys inside the laundry room. -__-

I'm terrible for losing my keys, so I've been locked out a few times when my parents have gone out during the afternoon and whatnot. I normally just sat on the porch and listened to my iPod until they got back. xD

Although, before the lady over the street moved, she used to invite me to sit with her until the parents got back, since I knew her kid and whatnot, so that was always fun. I'm much better with my keys now. I've got two copies of the house key though, one I take with my when I'm going out, and one I always leave in my bag, just so I'm prepared. :lew:

Actually it's just the head of the key. xD
That lock is so broken that one day we put the key in it, twisted, and it broke right off. So that's the story. :monster:

Now the head is stuck in there and we can't get it out. I've been told to never lock that in case we got locked out, but somehow I feel that it makes the place safer since no one could break in at that point with that stuck in the keyhole. xD

So how'd you get in the times you got locked out? xD

I've never locked myself out of anywhere i have lived recently, as I need the key to lock the door. Luckly... :8F:

I have done so in the past and had to break in through a window though

And my mother, she is a prize fucking idiot for it (guess where I get it from) Lucky for us, she used to always have a window open, so either me, or one of the lads would have to break into the house through one of the upstairs windows. It was usually my brothers window what was open though, so Id have to climb up the side of the house, on to the canopy above the door and get myself through the smaller window. it was mine one time though, Johnny had to go round becaue I could only get as far as scaling up past the kitchen widowsil, i wasnt tall enough to get to my window

It's one of those *pulls the door* -slam- Oh shi--- :ffs:

I got a ladder, hopped up on to the porch roof, and opened a window. I'm honestly surprised no one ever called the cops on me for breaking into my own apartment.

Rofl. I live right next to a cop and I'm surprised he didn't rush me when I broke into my own bedroom. xD Although I'm also glad that I don't have to use a ladder for anything like most of you guys.

I'm hardcore, never used a ladder, I just spiderman'd it up the side of the house

Of course, one time I was doing this (Whist not breaking in for a change) I fell off and broke my arm, knocked a tooth out and and lost a few precious brain cells with concussion. And I had the best bruise in the world down my leg :mokken: Oh and I have a scar on my lip

I've been a victim of this quite a few times but fortunately for me in my case I have someone else to open the door for me. I haven't done it recently though thankfully. I would imagine it would suck if I didn't live with anyone but I'd still give a spare key to someone I trust just to be on the safe side so I won't have to break into my own home.

Happened a few times at the places we've been renting.

One time we actually locked ourselves out just as we were going to a party and our actual house keys are attached to our car keys, so therefore we were stranded because both sets of keys were still in the house. >.<

We ended up asking one of the neighbours to lend us their electric screwdriver and drilled through the keyhole until the door knob fell off. XD

When I was 16 or 17 my mam never gave me a key so I whenever I used to skip school and head home the house would be locked up. Back then though she always left the two bathroom windows open so I'd climb into them off the wheelie bins.

Nowadays I have a key though occasionally I leave it at home or at a friends, and my mam makes certain she closes all the windows. I've been lucky though and either my dad was last out of the house(he's notorious for leaving windows open), or I have a sibling at home.

Got locked out once. Parents were out of town and had forgotten to give the neighbors a backup key. My sister had left her house key inside, so I ended up digging out some duct tape and a hammer from one of the garage cabinets.

Made a tape patch over a small portion of the window on the door that connects the house to the garage.

Broke a near-perfect circle in the glass, pulled the tape (and attached fragments) out, and reached through to unlock the door.

I lucked out because my parents had been talking about replacing that door anyway.

This whole thread is one big LOL! XD

Anyway, this has only happened to me once. It was about 3 years ago. We were having a BBQ or some shit like that in the night time, and my Mom told me to go get some spoons in the house. So I went and got them, but as I closed the door and locked it, the damn key broke inside the lock. I fucking panicked. My Dad came to try and open the door. We tried everything in our power to open the door. We must have tried for at least two hours. We eventually had to call in a pro to come and basically break the door down so we could get in. A bunch more stuff happened and eventually everything was back to normal and we were able to get inside. It must have been 2AM by the time we got back inside.

Damn key.
