sooooo the lightning DLC hits today s you can fight her and pick her up to add to your party as a monster.... sooo who picking up the DLC today???
 
After playing XIII-2 and seeing that its story is actually very good and, as far as I'm concerned, complete with a few mysteries surrounding Lightning, Snow and Sahz, I'm not as eager to buy DLC. This makes me quite pleased. :cali: Money shall only need to be spent on story DLC episodes that seem worth the money. :)

Having Lightning on your team would be pretty cool, but it would also change the story for me as she'd be outside of Valhalla. :ness: It would be interesting to see what her stats are, though. Does anyone know whether she's a Commando or Ravager (I imagine it's one of those two!)

Someone got the DLC and captured Lightning & Amodar, then posted it in youtube:

Lightning is a RAV, Amodar is a COM. Stats are in the video. But I don't think they are maxed stats, since Lightning is still at level 13, Amodar still at level 1.

My personal opinion is, I don't think having Lightning in the party will ruin the game, since she will only appear in battles. Although I am not too sure how they actually explained Lightning's presence in the coliseum in the first place, you can probably just think that she is a mannequin/robot or something like that, who takes the form of Lightning. Or there may be a better reason provided by the cutscene in the DLC.

I will probably get it once I think I am strong enough to face them. I am much more excited for story-related DLCs. I would like to see things continued properly. One of the reasons is because, I thought the concept they are trying to deliver in this game is really interesting.

(spoilers about the story. People who haven't beaten the game shouldn't read)
I really like the whole concept about seers. The relationship between AF700 Yeul and Noel, and the relationships betwen Caius and all the Yeuls. I wish I can see more of those. Unfortunately, I feel unsatisfied after the ending because I have so many questions on the story. Why does this happen? Why not this instead of that? And so on.

Hence I still haven't make a final judgment whether I really like the story itself as a whole. I will be replaying the game in English soon, and also by these story DLCs, hopefully I can make a stand on what I really think about the story.
 
I haven't got the money to buy Microsoft points for this DLC, but i will get it at any price cause I really love the game and most of all I am looking more forward to the story driven pieces being prepped up :)
 
im definetly downloading this because lightning is one of my all time favorite FF characters. I checked the PSN store and the DLC option on FFXIII-2 and its still not up. :(

Same I went on earlier today, and their was no content available. So much for a 2/7 release, I was browsing around and read that the xbox dlc came out today but psn might be tomorrow when they have an update for the euro version (unsure of how trustworthy that is).

that is correct, unlike xbox which updates every day early in the morning the psn only updates once a week, and for europe that will be around wednesday afternoon, i remember from when i was waiting for dissidia dlc....

here my first go at the fight..... yh i failed hard XD

 
Yeah you got uber boned when you fought the big guy & Lightning.

Tbh I think you need better partners in combat I don't think your current ones will work well :/ Cait Sith really sucks try to find a Cactuarina or a Alt medic with better stats and can cure multiple opponents

First off take a look at this guy's channel he's found alot of hidden monster partners some of which are extremely helpful. http://www.youtube.com/user/ItsNightlines?feature=watch

Next I would suggest you level up your characters more since getting.

I'm sure Cid will chime in and help more, I would help you out more if I had the DLC and wasn't in episode 4 atm XD

that the point, i knew i was going to fail cuz i'm inly on episode 4, i was just showing off the dlc

btw, psn got a costume today as well for $2:99
 
Well i just downloaded it about an hour ago and wow! What an annoying battle. This was the first battle I had to just quit on due to frustration. I mean these grenades that give you every debuff in the game (no joke, better have unicorn horns) then her curagas just created a never ending cycle. Everytime id stagger lightning I'd get screwed by debuffing grenades and by the time I was able to attack she was out of stagger.:raye:

Serah Level 99 rav and everything else is pretty much 50's
Noel 99com and 50s everything else
Flan medic, chocobo com, blue goblin thing rav.

Gonna go find better monsters.
 
maybe try a Sab? unless Debuffs don't work on these two.

and well Stevie you did ok for being only in Chapter 4, I'm tempted to get the DLC and try my hand at her I'm pretty much trying to get all the fragments/gates/etc. in every level so my stats are somewhat highish xD ((I almost killed that monster in Academa 400 the uhh really big one which probably has a Artifact D: )) only thing I lack is a good defense XD

ffxiii/ffxiii-2 has no defence stats, the only things that affect defense is equipment with resist magic/normal attacks and deprotect/deshell. apart from that however much you train the boss will still do the same amount XD that why i think health is a pretty big piroerty for me cuz that basicly your defense XD

After beating them twice I haven't been able to- I feel like they got better or something. 1% thats f*cking absurd, why the hell would they make it that low? Who wants to do the same fight 200 times... You got to be kidding me.

after looking some more it higher... it 7%.... that still not very high :wacky:
 
lol I know that stevie I ment by using the Sen Class to reduce damage xD

I mostly rely on a Com/Rav/Med and haven't delved into defensive sets yet but now that I have my Silver Chocobo I'll try to incorperate my defensive strategies :D

but yeah like I said I'll try to get the DLC and see if I can make a strat to beat these two D:
 
Well after finding out about these chocobos i went out and got a green one for my medic,farmed parts and raised it to level 99 . no problem winning now, especially with a gold chocobo as my COM. now to try and get the capture.

well after about 15 trys i finally have lightning. :D and wow is she strong, only had enough material to get her to level 10 and she has 900 strength/magic. my strongest character.

What? And get rid of Twilight Odin? Pshhh. Perhaps if I could swap her with Serah we coulda came to some sorta understanding. :smartass:

In all honesty though, I doubt I'll be buying it.

After my first run through I have enough to content myself with. Like finishing off crystarium with battlemania & rolling in CP fragment skills (Pleasing..), messing around with the Paradox Scope whilst getting the remaining fragments and having the most badass Golden Chocobo at the races.

I got Lightening on my 11th try. Which is 1/22 which means they probably have about a 5% join rate (1/20)| given I represent the average. This is without the fragment skill to help.
