Leona Lewis

I won't argue with you here, but I still think Leona is better. Whilst I do acknowledge that Snow Patrol should have the credit for making and writing the song, you gotta admit that Leona's made it sound so incredible and breathtaking.
It was already incredible and breathtaking - all Leona did was add a female voice to the song, making it appeal to the girls instead. Personally, I think that song is much better suited to a man's voice - Leona should just stick to her R'n'B beats.

R&B?

No, Leona isn't really R&B. Unless you're referring to Forgive Me, which I'm not a very big fan of.

It was pretty funny though, the way Leona is so telenetd and she used X-Factor to get noticed. Smart gal, maybe I'll do the same :P

Well, it's thanks to the X Factor that's made her such a big star today. Yeah, try it and see if you get your five minutes of fame. I'll be watching! :P

I do think she'll be the rare exception to The X Factor and have a long career. Although there are a few contestants this year who could do well - Ruth, Laura, Alexandra, Diana...

But I think Leona will remain X Factor's biggest success story. All of her songs have hit the top 5 so far, and that's something no other X Factor winner, or alumni, has acheived.

I must admit, I don't really mind Leona, she has a great soulful voice and comes across as such a nice person as well, but as far as the X-Factor is concerned, my favourite, Rhydian didn't win last year, yet I am still glad he has managed to shift out an album which has peaked at number 3 in the UK charts (although it is missing his fantastic performace of "You Raise Me Up"). Hopefully this will just be the start to his carear as out of nearly all of the contestants who have been on the show, his style has definately been one of the most "unique".
Back to Leona though and she is no doubt a great singer, but watching this years X-Factor, and judging by the song they share in common, I think that altough Alexandra sung Without You at a much earlier stage that Leona, her performance this year wasn't as good as Leona's, and she is my tip to win this year, so in terms of quality, once more, Leona is set to top that list for at least another year.

Yeah, I think Alexandra will win as well.

However, I'll always stick by Leona as my personal X Factor favourite. Run has gotten to the number one spot over here, so that makes it her third number one single within two years. That's pretty impressive!

I saw the need to revive this thread. :rage:

This song has become my new obsession and it's so beautiful. When I first heard Leona was going to be recording a new song for the film Avatar, I honestly didn't know what to expect. But now I'm absolutely in love with it!

I'm definitely looking forward to this year, especially since I got concert tickets for Christmas to go see her live in concert in June. Got floor seats, but not too sure where exactly it is that I'm sat yet. The tickets don't come until May, so I'll have to wait until then.

I so agree there. After listening to that song about 5 times- I am still loving it and it really does an amazing job conveying how vocally impressive Leona Lewis really is.

I See You is an excellent song choice for Avatar- which in itself is a beautiful movie. A beautiful movie has a beautiful song to go with it- I say it's perfect. Leona is really hitting it high lately. One song for Avatar and one for Final Fantasy XIII. Whoever said she will disappear quickly? Take that, previous doubters -__-

And Ami- I really envy you there for having the tickets! I hope you have an awesome time there- and if you can, you should really try and say hello to her!

I bought her second album, Echo, yesterday. I've listened to it all once and I absolutely love it. It's definitely a step up from Spirit. There are far more upbeat songs and her voice just seems to get better all the time. I particularly love Happy, I Got You, Brave, Outta My Head and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

I'm still disgusted that she's covered Stop Crying Your Heart Out. It takes something incredible to be able to cover an Oasis song, and she just isn't it. I think her voice made it quite bland and boring; she took all emotion out of the song rather than putting it in, like most people seem to say.

I didn't like Leona Lewis that much at first until I heard the Avatar soundtrack.
She really did an amazing job and that song became my fave in no time. When I heard that the soundtrack from FFXIII was also hers I was excited and again she did an amazing job. Thanks to that song I downloaded her album and enjoy at least the half of her songs. My fave until now from her album are: My hands, Broken, Stop crying your heart out and Happy.

Well, she was fantastic last night when I went to see her live. It was a very carefully planned out tour. It was surprising to see her cover the songs Cry Me A River, Sweet Dreams and Could It Be Magic. And as ever, she's amazing live. I can't stress that enough.
