Korean company sued for plagiarizing FF7: Advent Children

....Well, some garage band got incredibly bored. :lew:

The video was shit. The costumes, the obvious digital background, everything. And that song's a bit annoying as well. I love though how they fully acknowledged that they took it from AC. :lew:

and Koreans actually hate Japanese people, I think they were screwing around , serves them right they got sued :rofl:

Yeah something like this was discussed it was on the the ronso/avatar thing and should Square Enix sue because there both blue but thought someone already showed this video on that thread anyway still hate the song but the fight scene is good.

I brought the video up in that thread. :ohoho:

But it is definitely old, old news I remember reading about them taking the company to court a good 3 or 4 years ago. But they will have sued them for money, the company will have used Advent Children as a way to promote the single, hence they'll have gained a profit using Square-Enix's material without consent.

I think Square-Enix ended up winning about $300,000-$400,000.

the actual vid seems to be uploaded 2007 already..no idea when its been made though..probably a year earlier lolzz

So they didn't ask permission to recreate this? They just said; let's do this! Copy a movie's scenes and do them in live action!
 
The song was complete garbage IMO but I didn't hate the video itself. The live action recreation of the fight scene between Tifa Lockheart and Loz wasn't all that bad really. Now if they had asked permission from Square Enix, assuming they would even give such permission, and performed the video to a better song and maybe try to make the background look a bit more realistic they could have had something really great here. A nice tribute to the movie while promoting their own song.

It's a shame they dropped the ball.
 
Hah. A good effort I must admit (the fighting, not the music that is), but yeah, they should've asked permission. And the music sounds like its base tune was stolen from Beethoven.
