Raven and Luna headed out to meet the forces at the third defensive ring, (both of them are still at opposite ends though), these forces were mainly survivors of the Twilight Town Defense Force mixed with Noamnisan's forces.

On Raven's side of the ring, One of the soldiers said to him, "We're lucky to have a Keyblade Master here to lead us." Raven responded, "Let's not get carried away, we have a battle on your hands, as soon as the Heartless appears, give it everything you've got." Raven found a spare shotgun and picked it up. He also summoned his Keyblade and stood ready to engage

On Luna's side of the battlefield, she had similar numbers of men and vehicles as Raven did. She greeted her troops and stood ready to combat the Heartless. However, Luna's position was surrounded by forest, making it hard to easily spot the enemy forces there.

OOC: Tipsy, you can either join one of the fronts or create your own front. The battle ill be at least 6 posts per front hopefully and after the 6th post for each front the rocket would launch and the battle will be taken to the inside of the facility.
 
OOC: I'll take control of some facility defences from this console and help out a bit whilts I wait

IC: Hal said to Mirage

"Okay well tell me when its ready.. In the mean time let me control the defense network. Lets give the heartless a run for thier money"

Hal opened another screen up and started typing away to release some of the major defense systems. Starting with the weapons after all he thought.. a good defense is a good offense.

On the speaker Hal Said out..

"Raven I'll help out as much as I can from this end. We carn't launch yet though. But I can help the defense from this end. God Speed to you all! Hal Over and Out"
 
Chao frowned at the announcement. Shit always happened to them while the heartless merrily manage to always keep the light guessing. Wordlessly, Chao followed Raven and Luna out towards the thrid defense ring. While her friends took defense on two opposite ends, Chao walked straight on, taking on the front between the other two.

All the soldiers were tensed and jittery. Not surprising. Silently, Chao walked down to the center of the line drawing the eyes of several soldiers. As she reached the front of the defense line, Chao spotted two Minimi.

Hm... not my choice of weaponry, but good enough.


Slipping Rising Phoenix in its collapsed state onto her belt, Chao hoisted both guns in each hand with her ridiculously gorilla like strength. Accuracy was going to be sub par, she knew that, but then again, she could compensate enough for it. Cocking both guns, Chao smiled in her trademark combat grin.

Let's rock and roll boys!

Chao swung both guns straight forward as a chrosu of cry responded to hers. All along the line, the locking of bolts could be heard as everyone could instinctively tell that the heartless was almost here. The heartless may overtake this position, but the defense force will make it pay its price. Kill zones were set up all over the place, making it almost suicidal for those charging up.


 
Hal pressed a button and the base's defense system activated and a red flashing light was going on around the base control room.

He looked at the radar looking at the Heartless on the grid....

"Damn! They are coming.... Get that bloody rocket off the ground!"

Hal moved from the seat and walked down to the weapons room.. he could do no more and slowly he picked up his weapons... and slowly joined the battle line and stood next to Raven.

"Lets see an old man teach you all a lesson"

Hal attached his bracer to his arm and drew his sword...

"Raven... If this is the end... find the body and remove my bracer.. It'll help you more than you know.."

Hal injected his neck with some more medical resin to help his stomach for the fight. and lifted his cane off the floor as a second weapon..

"Well its now or never."
 
OOC: 5 minutes to launch.....

IC: The heartless began pouring out of the forest and began engaging all sides of the third defensive ring. Miltia men began firing at Invisible Gunners, wielding weaponry using Darkness-based projectiles to take out the troopers. Raven on the other hand was able to balance his shotgun (a sawn-off double-barrel model) with his Keyblade in a Solid Snake styled CQC style. Raven ran towards one of the gunners amid suppressive fire and shot a hole through one of the Invisible Gunners, while cutting a Soldier Heartless in half with his Keyblade.

Raven indeed changed since he started fighting in the war at the Battle of Radiant Garden, though he still has qualms about leading his friends to die and failing to live up to his own expectations, he has become a more competant warrior, adopting a fighting style totally unorthodox from any other keyblade master, (though he thought Chao might be that way herself), still Raven didn't care, he personally felt that he must protect his friends at all costs, and that is exactly what he will do.

Raven continued his assault, jumping in the air, then while in mid air jumped again over the head's of Heartless Defender's with shields. He then tossed his Key at the back of the Heartless's head, shot him in the foot, and then kicked it in the back, destroying the Heartless and picking up his Keyblade.

The Heartless were faring better on Luna's position, the Defense Guard, while using Shotgun's to devasating effect, were starting to be overrun, by the shear number of heartless. Luna swung at several Neoshadows and cut them down with ease. But it was like for every Heartless cut down, another one takes it's place.

Finally, Luna decided to just freeze her enemies. She told the troops, "Stand back." As she twirled her keyblade like a baton, charging it with ice energy. The Nomanisan Defense Guard complied and stood back as Heartless charged at the Keyblade Knight. However, before they could do anything about it, Luna slammed her Keyblade to the ground, causing the ground in front of her to freeze in place, including the trees, the creek and some of the invading Heartless. "Time to stay down." Luna said as she snapped her fingers, destroying the Heartless and clearing out part of the forest, giving her forces some breathing room.
 
Hal learnt down and picked up a gun that was laid on the floor...

"Time to do some serious damage"

Hal analysed the gun a second and then cocked it and started shooting at some heartless

Hal threw his arm in the air and signalled for the gunners behind him to provide him cover fire

Throwing the gun to the floor he once again drew his sword and started to walk forwards through the fields of heartless slowly striking each one the gunners didn't take out down himself...

"Easy as pie!"
 
Chao kept her finger on the trigger and the stream of bullets poured out of the muzzle. If one was to look down on Chao's front from above, they would see streams of bullets flying in every direction. The noise of the non stop firing echoed all around as trenches, bunkers and spider traps open fired on the herded heartless that had been forced into kill zones.

Even then, places along the lines were being over run. The heartless were being suicidal in its attacks, throwing themselves at the oncoming fire in waves. The defenders, were limited in numbers and slowly, were being wittled down.

UAGH! SHIT!

The men around Chao began falling as they were the front line. By now, heartless were beginning to swarm in and her Minimi's were becoming useless. With a hefty grunt, Chao tossed the two guns at the closest Heartless and called the fall back for the front line.

Front line! Fall back!

Wordlessly, the men began back pedalling, still firing into the black wave and into predetermined funnel positions which turn into killzones once the retreating men were clear. Chao, being the leader, should and is, the last to go. With both guns gone, Chao took out Heathen Flame and Cleansing Touch and began hacking at the heartless coming at her. Her funnel position was the largest as the most men were retreating into that position. She had to stay and play decoy for them.
 
Hal put his foot down hard as he threw himself into a group of heartless...

Slicing his way through the group he shouted

"Captain! WE MUST RETREAT!"

Raising his sword he pointed towards the towers and shouted " REGROUP!"

Hal stepped and turned and ran towards the encampment gates but 3 leaps away from the gates the medicine wore off and his abdoman split up from pressue

"NO! Not now!"

Hal fell to the floor.. Blood was seaping from the wound. Heartless were getting closer.. Hal pulled a generals pistol out of his pocket and shot the closet heartless.

"If this is how it ends let it be swift."

Hal shot the last round in the air and started to slowly crawl backwards as the heartless almost seemed animal like as they stood waiting infront of him as if to say "Come on.. you move first.." As if there was some higher power..
 
OOC: 4 minutes

IC: Despite the grim situation, Raven's forces held the line against the Heartless and their insurmountable odds. Eventually, and unforunately, Raven gave the order to fall back to a more defensible position. Giving up his shotguns when he ran out of ammo. He picked up a MP40 SMG from a dead soldier, and ran with his troops to the front gates of the main facility. With their forces garrisoned at the gate, Raven could now hold the Heartless back until the rocket launches.

On the way he saw Hal wounded on the ground.

Raven said, "Hal, dammit, you need to be careful, I'm not going to lose you here." He started to go and help Hal up and carry him to base.

Luna started to fare better against the Heartless horde, due to her magic causing a more area effect attack. However, despite the heartless suffering massive losses, they were not slowing down, and Luna was running out of magic.

"Fall back, Fall back!!!"

The troops began to fall back to the gate, with Luna holding them off.

As Chao had expected, the second defense ring offered more resistance than the first. With a smaller front and more troops, the amount of firepower being thrown at the heartless increased. However, that means that they also lost ground. In a battle, a second was eternity and Chao had to go all out in covering the 30 seconds for all the men to have gone into the second line. The moment the whistle shrilled through the air, Chao leapt high into the air and landed at the top of the trenches. Men in front of her began setting the fuses for land mines and drawing close the barbed wire and spikes in preparation of the heartless charging up the funnel. Dispelling her Keyblades again, Chao took one of the heavy MG44 belt-fed machine guns and aimed down at the heartless before opening up. One good thing about this sector was that there was no cover between the slops of the first trench line and the second. Those in the second had open line of sight down over the first trench line and beyond. The men were fighting with tooth and bone for every scrap of land, verging onto suicidal. Despite their bravery, Chao knew it wasn't enough to overwhelm the tremendous waves. The least she could do was stay with the men as long as possible and ensure that some could survive and head back into the third and last line of defense.
 
OOC: Halfway there, only 3 minutes remain, as for Raven, he cannot do anything till Hal posts.

IC: After 30 seconds of antagonizingly stiff defense, Luna was able to get all her troops to the gates, surprisingly with no casualties.

They were able to get support through the use of Recon Vehicles and their 12.7mm Heavy Machine Guns, the Heartless showed no intention of slowing down.

Their defensive lines were also strewn with land mines and barbed wire. If it wasn't for the fact that they are defending the rocket, it would be something more akin to World War I.

When Luna saw the waves of Heartless approaching, she drew out her keyblade, Guardian Soul, and prepared herself for the attack on the trench lines.

With the dropships all but destroyed, Col. Curtiss, the commander of the Arkbird said to the crew, "Flip this ship around, we need to provide support to the forces down below." He called on Raven, Luna, Hal and Chao. "All forces on the surface, 50% of the dropships have landed on Nomanisan, we're sorry we could not take out all of them, however we can support your forces with Pulse Cycle Cannon support, just give us a position to shoot."

Hal looked at his electronic bracer... There was a strange power close by..

"RAVEN!... Its...... He's... Damn it Captain Its now or never"

Hal took his final vial of medicine and injected it and took off his lab coat revealing a black commado vest protecting him - he tied his jacket around his body which was covered in blood. "This better help the bleeding"

Hal picked up his cane and his swords....

Slicing through closeby heartless he ran to Raven's side

"Raven.... Scifanxi... my bracer.. he's near... I must go to him..."
 
It was useless. The tighter the defense ring, the more thicker the heartless swarmed up in a horde. The front grunts took the bullets as meat shields while the stronger and nastier heartless gained ground from behind. Several of the front trenches have been infiltrated and had degreaded the fighting to hand to hand. Chao had long since abandoned her MG 42 and had reverted back to her twin keyblades.

Damnit. We aren't going to last...

Of the soldiers who had fled the first line defense, about only a quarter are still alive and at least 2/5 of the second line defense had been killed. There was no other choice. The line was too thin to do any good other than sacrificing the remaining soldiers for suicidal defense.

All units! Fall back to the base gate!

A confused look appeared on several of the troops.

Ma'am! Don't you mean the third line defense?

No! All of you head back and fortify the gate to the fortress. With only one path leading through the third defense line, i'll cover that opening with the those soldiers. Now GO!

It was not a slow fall back. It was a retreat order. Men dropped grenades and smoke cover before running at full speed up the mount and past the third line defense. Chao followed as the rear guard and stood atop the incline that led into the trenches and towards the fortress. Again, mines were set and the incline cut off. It was this front's last stand. This trench was a good deal different that the last two. The last two had an open top and was dug from the ground. This one was carved into the hill with concrete protection at the front and a steep wall at the front. Only way for ground troops are through the incline in which Chao stood.


 
OOC: 2 minutes

IC: "What!?!" Raven exclaimed, "He's here now???" Raven looked out to see if he was leading the charge, only to see a green haired female attacking the island militia with her broadsword.

Raven said to Hal, "Hal, stay here, I'll come back to get you out soon enough." He then walked towards the female who just cut her last opponent's head off. He said, pointing his SMG at the female, "Just who do you think you are, trying to kill our guys?"

The female said, "Insolent fool, I am Zaharada, a warrior born of darkness, I want your heart, Keyblade Master!!!"

"Well now, that's just not nice." Raven said before he started shooting her, but she quickly move and took cover under the trench until Rave ran out of bullets.

Raven summoned his Keyblade and got into fighting stance, "Come on, I know you came to stop us, you're gonna have to get past me to do it."

Zaharada drew out her broadsword and swung at Raven which he blocked, "It wouldn't matter, you would have died either way."
 
Hal looked at the battle...

"Stay here unlikly"

Hal pointed some soliders towards Raven and shouted - keep the heartless off them.

Hal walked forwards slicing his way as easilly as he could through the heartless behind Raven and stood next to him

"You're not fighting her alone kid!"
 
Two figures ran from the under-growth nearby taking out heartless as they went "Youre right old man" one said in a rough male voice as he ripped off his camouflage to reveal jeans, boots and a black tank-top his hair slightly out of place as the second one added to the first statement "you both have us, weve been chasing her for weeks and decided to wait for her here" the second figures voice was alot more feminine so it was no surprise that her camouflage ripped away to reveal a slight young woman dressed in a variation of metal armour. Both figures had red glowing eyes and the same glow shrouded their hands as both summoned two keyblades into the fight. They took stances and nodded to each other. "Ihope youre..." "...Ready Zaharada" They said finishing each others sentence in that creepy twin-like way.
 
OOC: Don't give in now, we have 1 minute remaining till SSTO launch....change of music will be made now.

IC: Luna continued attacking the Heartless in the front line. Swinging her Keyblade and destroying 4 Heartless Soldiers in one swing, she ran forward and fired a Blizzard spell at a big body, taking it down quickly.

The heartless were still letting up when Mirage called her on her communicator.

"Luna, your friends need help, they've encountered the leader of the invasion force."

"All right, I'll get Chao and head to my friend's location."

After turning off the communicator, Luna entrusted the leadership to one of the militiamen before heading to Chao's location.

Raven looked to the side towards the twins, he thought, "Keybladers? Well, didn't expect reinforcements, but they are on our side so..."

Zaharada wasn't so happy, saying, "You two....I thought I killed you when I razed your world to the ground!!! No matter, I hope you appreciate, humans, that everything that happens here will be on your heads. The skies will blacken, the oceans will boil, the soil will run red with the blood of thousands...and after you watch while we destroy everything you hold dear to you, will I end your life..."

At that moment, Zaharada got into her fighting stance, with her Sword pointed perpendicular, close to her face. "...LET'S GO!!!"

Armored Core 4 OST-Fall

Raven took off his black jacket, revealing the white no sleeve shirt underneath. Closing his eyes, he felt a serge of energy that he felt before fighting Xaldin in Radiant Garden, all his fustrations and his anger. His eyes started to turn bluer as he went into his drive mode. "Well, we'll see about that...." Raven ran forward charging at Zaharada at blistering speed, and swung his keyblade down at the female Heartless, but she countered by moving her sword up and then using her free hand to try and knock the Keyblade Knight away, but Raven moved back before she could connected, and landed, or floated a foot off the ground, a few feer from her.
 
Hal put one sword onto the floor and picked up a nearby pistol pointing both at Zaharada he walked forwards. Hal used his sword to balance his arm as he shot but slowly slipping the 1st bullet landed just before Zaharada's feet.

"Damn it" Hal threw the pistol down and threw back his jacket to remove his second arm which he used to grab the handle of his sword ready to strike
 
OOC: Whooowee. Sorry abt that. FFF is acting up on me and i just got back recently.

Despite the tighter defense, the tide of heartless seemingly push the entire defense line back. Gunfire from trench slits and opening were hitting targets less than half a meter from their position. THe small trench circle has become so hectic and violent that blood from the casualties dies the ground red and was beginning to turn into a small stream. No man took one step back. It was victory here or die trying. Chao had to commend them on their gallant effort, almost worthy that of an Eastern Cloud warrior, but most were filling in the latter half. With her being the vanguard, the heartless horde was held at bay, but the inadequete skills and troops of the local militia meant that her flanks were collapsing. Should she not retreat, her vanguard could become encircled. Rage and fustration boiled through her whole system at the inevitability of the deaths of the men under her and the endless sea of darkness.

All Units! RETREAT AT ONCE. CEASE FIRE AND REGROUP WITH REMAINING SOLDIERS!

Many were reluctant to go and leave Chao to defend by herself, but she had made herself clear. Hurling the last of their explosives to cover their retreat, the militias streamed by the lone figure, offering all that they could give, a salute. Chao did not register the symbol of respect. Her eyes had begun to go white and her skin was beginning to turn lighter and lighter. The air all around the trench began to heat up and form a haze as the temperature rose.
