In my opinion, Kimahri is a good addition to the team, and can be just as useful as anyone else on the team for the first half of the game.
However, after Highbridge, I've found that I rarely, if ever, use Kimahri again. It's frustrating, he's not available on Highbridge, yet it's the best training spot in the game at that point, and can really make transform your characters.
After Highbridge, I just don't bother with Kimahri as anything he can do, someone else can do much better.

When i got all characters at max, then i was thinking... hmm let's make a strongest party and Kimahri wasn't in it. He is strong, but Tidus, Auron and Wakka are stronger... I don't like Kimahri a lot, but i guess i can say that FFX without Kimahri isn't FFX anymore :]
