Is Lighting a good lead character?

As for your other two questions, we won't really know the answer to either until the game comes out, which is a pretty long ways off :/ Lightning looks like a kick-ass character imo though, so my hopes for her are high.

I don't think anyone here will be able to answer either of these questions yet, I'm pretty sure that this information hasn't been released yet. So your gonna have to wait a while before you find out.

Plus how can we possibly comment on whether Lightning is a good character? The game isn't and won't be available for aaaaaaaaages.

I really don't think Lightning is going to be all that great, she'll get popularity of Cloud fanboys but the majority of people are sick of Cloud whoring and if Lightning is meant to be the next Cloud then it's going to be rather boring.

Plus, imho, I don't see anything about Lightning that strikes me.

Smart lady. I believe Lightning will only appeal to those who have a crush on Cloud, so if you are a guy well.. just think about it.

Cloud started the trend, and I doubt that it will be ended on account of how popular the series has already been because of him. It's very hard to tell if Lightning is good or bad, but to be honest I am not really caring if she is or not. My mind is already set on Versus, looks like a different story line, with a different look for characters. I need a FF that breaks away from the norm, same look, same love story, different drama, different setting. Only so much I can handle.

I'm not entirely sure about Lightning to be honest. I think it is great that they are finally making a FF game with the lead character a female (Exclusing FFX2, because, well... you know why), and she does look pretty cool and that, but that's what is worrying me. The fact that she has been based on Cloud Strife, leads me to believe that once again this is going to be very similar to him and FFVII, rather than breaking from the mould and trying something new. We'll just have to wait and see.

Why would you even ask if Lighting is a good lead character when the game isn't even out yet? You can only speculate on what type of character she will be, and base on judgment how good of a lead character she will be.

From what I've guess, she seems that she will be a manly main character, different from any other female FF character. From the clips and pictures of seen of her she seems very "bad ass." I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be a female version of Cloud.

Well we can tell if she will be a good lead character because in the trailers she looks like she is. Snow looks like a good character also but what about Sera? Personnaly I believe Lightning will be like cloud and plus she also has a gunblade.

That said, I don't really think she looks *that* much like Cloud, by FF standards at least. To me, most of the characters look a little too similar...

Until the game comes out, we can't really say anything. I doubt Nomura would be so unoriginal as to make her Cloud with boobs. It'd take the fun out of playing as her, not to mention make the story/character development more predictable.

Indeed. I don't think there is enough information to work off of besides look and small bits of background story.

I mean how are we supposed to know how feminine or masculine she really is just from looks and relations to a similar story line (directed at cloud).

Until we know for sure, I think we hope for the best, if they make the mistake in making her a straight up copy image of cloud. Well I'll just take her for a lesbian (no gay bashing intended). I won't look at her the same way as I would look at say... Rinoa or Tifa. There's just something about a girl who is too masculine, you can only go so far till people start to ponder things.

Well, I think its too early to judge her ability to be a good lead character... The trailers so far only told us more about her combat capabilities, and some of her team mates.

Though, if i had to decide, I guess she looks okay.. I suppose with enough depth and emotion, she could be a good lead...

She could be a good leader...because Cloud was a good leader too, but he was a bit insecure and full of regret. Hopefully Lightning won't be so held down by her past, (whatever that may be) and I think she'd turn out a strong leader. Basically, she'd be better off with a slightly different personality...*sigh* How much longer must we wonder?

She's hot, dynamic, badass and seems kinda Strong, Adventurus and Restless!
