Or does Versus XIII look absolutely incredible? Don't get me wrong, XIII looks fantastic as well, but VXIII looks to be in a league of its own. Just from watching the trailers released thus far, the music, everything; it also seems to blend together in just the right way. You can tell that it's already been incredibly polished, and you can practically feel the inherent complexity of the characters and story, even while knowing practically nothing about the game. Anyone else feel this way?

Now I am totally against all these spin offs, sequels, compilations etc that has been happening with the new games (and back to the old ones now) as I think it should be one title then onto something new but Final Fantasy Versus XIII does look amazing. Out of sequels and compilations etc, this is the first I am actually looking forward to.

I still don't understand why it has to have "XIII" in the title (the same goes for Agito) as it has been stated that they are developing these titles like they are one of the main numerical games and do not have any direct interference with each other. Well then in that case why NOT just put them into the main numerical franchise instead of a compilation?

So far Versus gives me great vibes, just hope they have the character progression and amazing story to back up the amazing Trailers!!

Versus looks the best out of the three XIII titles planned for release so far. I just like the way Square Enix have taken a different approach and are planning a tragic and dark story opposed to every other game which ends up with the villain trying to destroy the world and the hero beats them >.>
Plus I like the fact that their using the Kingdom Hearts battle system and developing it, because that was ace. :)

Admittedly, new scans give me more of a reason to like XII, especially the recent ones of Lightning. But I'm still looking forward to Versus much, much more. :-)

I agree! :D

As for the whole "spin-offs and compilations" things, Kain's Lance, I actually like what they're doing with XIII. The whole concept of "Fabula Nova Crystallis" seems inherently appealing to me, on some level. I guess it makes me think all the games will tie together in subtle ways to present an epic, cohesive whole. Anyone else share my opinions? :D

I believe so too.I loved the music in the trailer, everything is so detailed in VFFXIII I think. It's more interesting from FFXIII mainly because it's darker and the main character seems like an enigma.Plus it's the nearest to the real world rather than FFXIII with all those mythical creatures and advanced technology.

I agree. I like the direction they're taking with both of them, but Versus seems more ambitious. And yes, the music, the detail; all of it's fantastic! :D

I've also heard the Noctis (the protagonist) is going to be unlike any FF hero so far, which seems interesting. So be prepared for some complex characterization.

Well ya What can I say it is just amazing but I would like XIII a tiny bit better because I like Lightning she is amazing. As for Versus I am freakin getting this game it looks SIck!!!

You do know that that isnt actually gameplay (If you watched the trailer im thinking of) The one where he fights that army by himself whatev. :D but there is no way the gameplay could be that good and not be featured on like 10 disks or something ridonkulous.
I think I can speak for all of us when I say "I wish the gameplay could be that good"

Of course I realized that wasn't gameplay. :P

It's possible in the near future that SE could pull something like that off, though. Blu-Ray has a LOT of storage space, so it's not outside the realm of possibility to make something play and look THAT good on the ps3 if you REALLY pushed the system.

I think both look incredibly great. I mean, overall I want a great plot out of both of them, and surely one will be better than the other in the end, but you've got to marvel at the beauty of them as screen-shots and trailers are shown off every so often now.

It will be quite interesting to see how the games stack up against each other in terms of sales in the end. No doubt FFXIII the man game will rack in the most sales and $$ overall since it's multi-platform, but Versus may creep up and make a not-so-quiet riot.

Yeah; I have no doubt in my mind that XIII well sell more, but the way things look, VXIII might end up being the more critically acclaimed of the two.

I'm wondering about the battle system too.Even though I really like Lightning, she's strong and independent,I have to admit that I prefer Noctis. He seems more compicated as a character.

Well lightning and Noctis both got there styles. Noctis in my opinion is probably the coolest guy in final fantasy and lightnimg is the fastest girl in final fantasy. What do you think Noctis's true objective is?

I was thinking it looked pretty good, both of them... But I'm more in favour to the traditional RPG styled battling, rather than the Kingdom Hearts style where you could move around hacking and slashing.

I won't comment much on the characters though. It seems they're good in their own ways. I'd rather wait for the story to come out before i judge them further.

Honestly, I'm bound to be pleased with pretty much any direction SE sees fit to go in anymore. I used to lament the growing lack of traditional RPGs, but I've changed my perspective a bit since. As long as the story is solid and the gameplay engaging, I'm happy.

Well personnaly I think the gameplay for Final Fantasy Versus Xiii is going to be amazing and so will the story. It already looks amazing if you have seen the trailers. Noctis dodged all those bullets that was epic!!!
