It's almost christmas and once again I have to choose what to get. I think that the touches look neat, and I've read some reviews, but I figured I'd ask people here, who might be more honest.

Should I get one or save my money, and buy something else?

Well, that all depends on what you're looking for. If you want a glorified iPod, then sure, get the iPod Touch. I've got one and so far I've been extremely happy with it. It's pretty neat, especially with its wireless internet capabilities and the apps are always fun. It is kind of bulky though for just a music player, but if you plan on using it for the internet a lot as well, then it's a pretty awesome little gadget to have.

I said no, only because I would prefer to save the money and put it towards something more useful such as a car.

However, that's just my own opinion.

If you really love music and you know that you will enjoy the Ipod Touch, go for it. I just see those things as something that is constantly being upgraded and pretty soon you'll want the next best thing out and go and spend your next lot of money on that.

I for one love music, but I also drive around a lot, so I got a decent music system installed in my car. Whenever I'm not in my car I'm on my computer and I listen to music on the computer. So I've not really got any need for an Ipod really.

Still if you really want it go for it.

If you don't mind the price, by all means, buy the iPod Touch. It's got rather favourable reviews, has a wide range of apps and songs you can readily download from the App store. It's the ultimate form of a portable player I know of- and only falls short of being a phone. It is sleek and well designed with good wireless internet capabilities.

I would go for the iPhone. It's basically everything the Touch is, but with the added bonus of being a phone. That way you have everything all in one package, which is how I like to do things. However, the expensive contracts of the iPhone 3GS scares me because I would hardly use it. Not to mention the 0.1% chance of exploding.

(I don't own one, but I've used a friend's.)

They look really good to be honest. It's an iPod, but it's got internet, eBuddy, applications.. like an iPhone without the phone. I suggest that you do get one, they're really good. It's very useful and handy :3

My girlfriend has an iPod touch, but she's on her fourth one, the other three all stopped working - one wouldn't power up, one wouldn't accept any earphones, and the third one had the same problem as the first - luckily she had a years warranty, so was able to replace them for free.

However, they do look pretty funky, and if you want more than just a music player, go for it. They have loads of apps and are quite fancy, I suppose. I wouldn't buy one myself, but that's just because I'd feel so limited by the 8GB space, when my Ipod classic has 80GB and works perfectly even after two years :jess:

Well, I went ahead and got one. It's 32 GB, and I haven't really got to miss with it yet. Thanks for the advice everybody. You're all the best.

Oh, I think about 279.99, because we bought at Sam's Club.

I played with all weekend, and it's really really neat. Woohoo, I'm happy.

P.S: I made some posts to this site from it.

I have one and I'm very satisfied with it. Serves well as an MP3 player as well as your photos, videos, and games. If you don't have an extremely long time to play games but find yourself with a few minutes to waste constantly, you'll really like it. Even the (well, especially the) free applications are best.

I wouldn't recommend it if your strapped for cash, but they do have some for as cheap as $200.

It's a great music player AND a game player. But I didn't get one because my music library is 18 GB and the 32 GB was too expensive for me. I just ended up getting a 120 GB iPod Classic. But some day when flash memory is cheaper, I'd probably get a big iPod Touch. But if you only plan to use it for music it might be over kill honestly. But it does make a good movie player, much better than my Classic. However if you like the idea of the Apps and can afford a size that will fit all your stuff, I say go for it! ^^

I just got one today an its really awesome. I put most of my music on it and I go on youtube with it. Sucks no flash player until Apple decides to have it but its still awesome. Its beautiful and the touching commands are awesome. Its worth it

I got my iPod Touch back in October, spent around $200 on it brand new, and I've loved it ever since. It's crazy simple to use once you get the hand of it and organizing songs, and everything is a lot easier.

I've had 2 previous generations of iPod's with the 1st generation, as well as the Classic 80GB that came out 2 years back, but this iPod is by far my favorite and best in my opinion. I got the 32GB which of course was a bit pricey, but I don't think you'll be disappointed once it's in hand.

What I like about the touch is you have the same pinch and scroll gestures from the MacBook line of computers. Apple has probably the best track pads. Two finger click ANYWAY on the bottom half of the pad for rightclick =D

Also, you should check out some of the really funny games from Adult Swim. Meowsinarries (sic) is FUN!

Spell my finger is good too! There is also a version of RE4 for iPhone/iPod Touch.
