So I'm massively bored lately, and have contemplated RPing again (even though my last debut was very short given real world issue and a lack of interest/doablity of my ideas
). I really want to do an HP RP, which I did an interest check a looong time ago about. At that point, I was talking a very complete one, which is impossible to run on a site like this that isn't dedicated to it. However, the idea has stuck with me since then, and I've developed it a bit and now I have a plan for it.
The RP will take place during the events of the later books, not sure exactly when, that's part of what I'd like to discuss. It will be AU, I'm thinking that Harry will factor into this story very little with the focus being on the PCs. How I would go about doing this is by basically having our characters (if any does show interest) make up a crack team of Aurors sent out as wave against Voldemort. Sort of a New Order of the Phoenix but much more kickass and less upstaged by a trio of youngsters. In other words, how it should have been.
The idea interests me because it would allow the RP to exist in the world of HP without being confined the structure of the books. We'd all be graduates from Hogwarts (or some other magic school), and we'd all be on the same level, just with different special talents and such. And just because we're called a team doesn't mean that we have to be together at all times, there's potential for people to be captured or just go off on their own.
So to summarize, HP RP set in the later books timeframe, probably fairly late since I would like the Second Wizarding War to be on full steam, but before the final book. In fact the whole concept of Horcruxes would be one of the points of discussion for this RP, on rather we go with that format and attempt to find all seven (which I would make a great deal more complicated than it was for the Trio just because it really should have been) or just all war and battling.
I think it's an interesting idea that needs just a bit more developing and I would love suggestions. It has a huge amount of potential though, and I'd really like to do.
I think the ideal number of PCs would be 6 or 7, I'd limit each person to a single character to be fair and give everyone a chance. I might add more slots or make two teams if there's a lot of interest. I'd like at least four interested parties before I make a sign up thread just so I'm not wasting my precious time. Or something like that.
Thanks, please post ideas, suggestions, or your interest.
