What would you do if you was the boss of Square-Enix?..........Like in charge of every department......from Final Fantasy to Kingdom Hearts............




Personally I would get every single person working on a FFVII remake!........This way maybe it won't take decades to make.....Instead of working towards making new ff games such as FFXV..........Maybe I would let a few people be working on FFXIII Versus (since it looks good) ...................Then a couple of years down the line I would work on an FFX Prequel.

Do you agree?
What would you do?

i personally would get everyone working kh3, ff7 remake, and well..... i will stop right there as my list is too long
 
FFVII remake in HD would still take about 3 or 4 times more time to develop than FFXIII. It won't happen, deal with it :mokken: You'd plunge the company into bankruptcy or something.

The World Ends With You sequel would be all I want. Or a prequel. Doesn't matter.
 
id put a poll up on FFF.com asking what people want, whatever wins happens. Then i would be enjoying my money and would be having fun in Japan.

it would not take that long i refuse to believe it! if you already have the game witten out and you already know what happens then it can't take that long
 
Well if I was the boss and I could make SE do whatever I wanted, these would be it:

  • Forget any FFVII remake. We don't need it. In fact I don't get all the demand for it. I would invest time on something else - preferably something new.
  • Put the bulk of the effort into Versus, but don't sideline other major projects such as Agito and 3rd Birthday
  • Get straight into Kingdom Hearts 3 once enough members of the teams are done with Versus
  • Or similarly, consider FFXV and get planning on it
  • Let the Compilation of FFVII die.
And for things not related to FF or KH:

  • Have Tri-Ace make the next Valkyrie Profile game
  • Make a new Chrono game
That's how I would want things to be of course.

I don't see my self being bankrupt after the release of FFVII Remake.............could always employ game developers to speed everything up lol-wonder why square don't do that.

And you'd think these developers will be good? You think that their contracts and training wouldn't cost much? What about organizational culture? You think they'll fit right in? You think these new developers are going to be loyal to Square Enix? What if they can print their names on some good production and immediately leave for another company, use all the training and things they've learned from Square Enix for better pay?

If you're talking about outsourcing, which is basically outside help, then Square Enix does that all the time. They even recently employed the late GRIN to develop the codenamed FORTRESS and pulled the plug on that one due to quality concerns.

They could just as easily get Eidos Interactive, whom they now own by the way, to develop the FFVII remake for them. But you can see why they wouldn't do that. They still have a good number of the people who worked on the original Final Fantasy VII and the teams that worked on the compilation. They know their way around it, and don't forget they get the bulk of their feedback from the Japanese consumer base (or at least the ones they could better understand).


Going back to the topic, If Square Enix was under my complete authority then I would do as follows:
1) Keep the course and direction the corporation is going. I know this may sound hypocritical, since I have many issues with the bullshit SE are putting out these days but in the end, it's a business. And so far, SE is doing a great job from a business standpoint.

2) The FFVII remake will not see the light of day, for a while. The PSN VII re-release is to see how many people are willing to pay to play this game. And it would be nonsensical to put a development plan after such a short time of the PSN release. If the remake were to come to a reality, I would have it developed for the PSP and 3DS. It doesn't take too long to develop and it doesn't cost much. Everyone will own a 3DS and many others own a PSP, especially in Japan. That seems to be the best course of action from a business point of view.


These are the only things that I currently have in mind, and I know that these are purely business oriented, but that's what it is; a business.

If I were to do something that's purely to my interest, then it would be doing anything to hire back Yasumi Matsuno, give him the complete freedom to do whatever he wants with his projects and supply him with his own development team. I would also have only teams headed by Alexander O Smith to localize future projects. And anything that has anything to do with Final Fantasy VII can rot for all I care.

Personally i would make them make a Final Fantasy game that's like the classic's (Turn based or ATB whichever) and make a fighting game like Dissida (but not exactly) that has all the Final Fantasy Character's and Kingdom Hearts Characters in it (and Chrono trigger)(kinda like Dragonball z has all the Character's from the show in their games)

I would implent my own ideas if I was the boss, maybe a horror FF title.

Lately a Heavy Rain type of FF is making me fantasize.. :D
 
List of stuff.

2010: Work on FFXIII Versus and Agito nonstop. No other projects until 2011.

2011: Finish up FFXIV while mid-way through developing Verus and Agito.

2014: I'd get them to work on a FFVII remake, and that alone. NO OTHER PROJECTS, EHEM!

2022: Final Fantasy XV. NON STOP!

2030: Final Fantasy XVI. NON STOP!

2039: Kingdom Hearts 3. :3 Sorry KH fans! :D
 
If I was in Wada's big chair, what would I do...?

First I'd want to lessen the gap between game's released around the world. FFXIII coming out only 3 months after Japan's version made me very happy, so I think keeping that up is key. Better to have more money at once with long period between games released than only some money at a more frequent rate I think :hmmm:

Of course I understand that would make releasing the games for Japan a little harder, but...I think it's about time we even the grounds :monster:

As well, screw the whole "appeal to the west" idea they decide to go with. Don't be intimidated by all these MW2 fanatics. Stick what you do best - JAPANESE games. Wanna appeal to the west? Add optional Japanese audio. Japanophiles like me who liked S-E in the first place would appreciate it.

Second, I'd release a XenoGears remake for the PSP or at least release the original game on PSN, and again, decrease the time the regions get it. Hell, if it's on PSN, it should be done on the same day.

Third, make a third Chrono game. Cross disappointed me, and even though I loved Trigger so much, the weaker Cross kind of bleeds into how much I love Trigger, so I say make a trilogy to round it up in a way I can love again. And it's easy money. For shits and giggles, make it for the PS2 to blow people's mind :wacky:

Fourth, rather than a FFVII remake, make a FFVII finale. Close the fucking gap DoC leaves at the end and finish the FFVII story once and for all. And again, make it for the PS2 to make heads explode. In fact, make it a really long game, spanning at least 3 discs. Should give some nostalgic feelings of switching discs people will either love or hate.

And following the path of KH Re:Coded, bring Before Crisis to DS as well and release it over seas. That should bring in some extra cash :hmmm:

Save the FFVII remake until the story is actually done. That way all the new stuff can get included into the game (which it will people, you know it). Whether people hate or not after won't matter because they'll still buy it and FFVII will finally be DONE.

BUT BEFORE THAT GET A FFV AND FFVI REMAKE DONE ALREADY!

Fifth, once KH 3D and Versus is out, get right on KH3, but make sure it remains on the PS3. Give Nomura whatever he needs to get it done because he's one of the only things I like about S-E, and pay Utada Hikaru to come back and do a 3rd opening. I'm half convinced KH3 is taking so long is because they're trying to figure out what the opening theme should be.

Sixth, the Wii, XBOX 360 and PS3 should be as far as Square-Enix goes for planning console games. At least until 2020. Piss off the gaming heads maybe when they stupidly release their next over-priced console, but I think the people actually playing the games would appreciate it more.

Seventh, release a sidescroller action game on the Wii. Why that genre? I dunno, I just figure it's the most entertaining kind of game to play on the Wii :awesome:

Eighth, release one exclusive XBOX 360 RPG and one exclusive PS3 RPG. They will be absolutely different games, not games that only differ because of one character. It will piss off the many gamers who only own one of the consoles - and also make them happy as well.

Ninth, allow worldwide customers to buy their merchandise. Why S-E doesn't want money is beyond me.

In terms of big ambitions, I'd love if Square-Enix bought out the Tales' series from Namco-Bandai. It's is dying under Bamco's love of Naruto and DBZ games, and needs some S-E exposure to save them. They started with FF, and then took on DQ. Imagine Tales getting in on this...That's be one hawt three-way :gasp:

Also, I personally want to see The Last Remnant get brought to the PS3, however on a business perspective, I think I can see it being a flop. It's been too long and a lot of people don't care as much anymore. No point using resources to do a mere port *sighs*

1. I would release a new Chrono game instead of rerealesing the same game 3 times and making 1 prequel...
2. Make FF games more/less modern. Like today. No magic and dragons and stuff, no huge spaceships and airships.
3. Release a new Secret of Mana game that is good.
4. Make more KH games.
5. Remake FF 5&6 in 3D
6. Make a game for the NES just to surprise the crap out of people. :3
 
If I were the boss, I would concentrate on bringing the old school "Final Fantasy" feel that has been gone since FF9. I really do not care much for the futuristic styling of the current gen games. Also, I would press for the FF VII remake and a PS3 port/remake for FF III.
 
Well I'm sure if I was boss of SE and work on an FFVII remake............I'm sure that will generate money on the release,LOADS of money then I got that to do whtever I want!
 
I would get Final Fantasy I - XII up on XBLA, PSN and Steam with achievements/trophies ASAP.

I mean think about.... If we could get good ports of these games without loading (im looking at you FFIV-VI on PS1) or any of that other crap that has come from S-E being lazy with their ports. All of that topped off with achievements and trophies I think the sales would be massive.

True I think SE .............Maybe just VI to X............Not I to V or XI to XII..............VI-X are the best ones in my opinion.
 
If I was the boss I would demand the inclusion of more chocobo side games. I mean, we seriously need more chocobos in our Final Fantasies
