To be honest, square are a bunch of A holes! The Japanese always do the exact opposite to what the western world want them to do (unless you got a couple of a-bombs.). Take the present whale chrisis for example. there are only about 70 blue whales remaining in the entire world folks... THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! Soon they will be extinct because of the Japanese arrogence and greed. Sure i love their games, but i somewhat dislike their arrogent greedy ppl. And greed is what is preventing this remake. Take lucasfilm company for comparison. Wether its a money buster or not, if the fans demand it, they make it. George originally gave you star wars for 2 reasons. For his own amusement, and for his story to reach the world. Earning money wasnt in his head when he originally thought of the idea. And that people is the difference between square and lucasarts. In one hand you have a company built entirely on greed, and in the other a company built from passion.

What im trying to say is simple. If reproducing ffvii is not in squares pocket interest, they WONT do it. And i dont know why, but they obviously beleve it would be a waist of time and money. And even if they were to remake it, just face it. It would be as if its an entirely different game all together and not ffvii. It would be destroyed, because different people to who worked on the original would make it. It wouldnt have the FFVII "FEEL". And to be honest, if square made the remake it would be a cheap liniar heap of s--t... let me express the word "LINIAR" again. Just like FFX, FFX2, FFVIII, FFIX, Dirge of Cerberus, and just about any game they've made. The reason FFVII was so good, apart from the storyline which was 80% of its good factor, is because it gave the ILLUSION of a non liniar game.

Heres my proposal... If square wont do it, or if they dont do it well, lets just do it ourselves!! Lets unite as the original Final Fantasy VII fans and f--k this puppy! I will begin work on the remake as soon as june 2008 when i have all of the resources. It will be a mix of my two favourite RPG's to produce what could be one of the greatest fan made games EVER! I will reproduce FINAL FANTASY VII (For its fantastic and magical storyline) with the engine of ELDERS SCROLLS III MORROWIND (For its pure concept of an "UNLINIAL" universe). IT WILL BE A PURELY UNLINIAL VERSION OF FFVII REMADE TO EXACT SPECIFICATIONS! AND IF THE MAIN STORY WASNT ENOUGH I WILL PRODUCE HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF SIDE QUESTS!!

If anyone with 3d model making skills would like to assist me, please feel free to step foreward. Get ready people. In about a years time i will torrent the new ffvii to you. and food for thought (inc ideas on side quests) will be welcome. Although please respect that i will keep the original plot ORIGINAL.

Secondly, where in the world do you intend to gather the funds, equipment and other 'resources' to carry out this task?

Honestly, we must admit that the RPG genre is falling, and fast. If you want to do something about it, find a way to become a game designer and try to make square-enix hire you for the job.

Racist much? It's COMPANIES who make the games, and COMPANIES who do the whaling. Companies are always run by greedy individuals, no matter what nationality.

And now George Lucas is a senile old graphics whore who made shitty movies to reel in new fans. He couldn't even hire decent actors aside from Samuel L. Jackson and Ewan McGregor. Whenever Star Wars is at its best now, its when OTHERS are granted permission to work with the license.

Uh...lets see, first off, SquareSOFT made VIII, IX and X, not SquareENIX. I think you're having trouble comprehending that those are two different companies. Secondly, VIII and IX had just as much a "non-linear" feel as VII did, if not moreso.

Yeah, that's the most idiotic idea I've ever heard. Soon as you start making it SE will catch wind of it and shut it down, because you don't have the license for it. It'll be Chrono Resurrection all over again.

Your point is? I really wouldn't throw the company out on the line for a major money loss just because some people I don't even know want an extremely smexy remake of an alright game. A company bowing down to the fans is a shit company, and doesn't have their eyes on the prize. I'm also sure that Square Enix are also working on a lot of other projects, such as Lord of Vermillion, Fabula Nova Crystallis, Crisis Core: FFVII, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 days, and many more. They're not going to halt all production to get an FFVII remake under production. That would just be retarded.

That's a bit too much, I think I nearly shat in my boxers while I was pissing myself jolly with laughter. What you're talking about making is something that would ultimately fail as a Final Fantasy.

Also, I really don't think that Square is going to give someone so rude a license to remake Final Fantasy VII. If you're planning on making it illegally, prepare to be caught before you've even started - they've been stepping up their anti privacy enforcement and attacking individuals and organizations who infringe upon their property.

Besides, the idea is very narrow minded when people know that there's already patches out for Oblivion to make your characters look like Final Fantasy characters. I once had Morrowind and had a patch that made my character look like Kadaj, and there was another patch so that I could use another sword as a Shield and shit.

I'd lol if he just released a modified version of Morrowind.
 
If all he's doing is modifying Morrowind, it's really not as hard as you'd think that it would be if you've got the skeelz.

Though, I wouldn't expect the environment to be anything too spectacular.

Instead of making a copy of an already existing game, make something completely different. But that would be way too creative.
