I couldn't disagree more.

Electric guitars are a lot thinner making them easier to hold and strum and the necks are generally slimmer making for much more fluent play, also, the space between the strings and the fret board is a lot smaller ensuring a far less painful experience, literally. Unless you've got got a very expensive acoustic, the saddles are also far superior making the strings more flexible and easier to tune.

But you can make up your own mind, play an acoustic and an electric before deciding. A tenner says you'll find it much, much easier playing an electric, though. :wacky:
Acoustic guitars are cheaper, and unless they have nasty steel strings, are much easier to play. Because holding down the strings is a lot less painful, it makes it easier to change chords, and chords are fundamental to playing guitar

I had no problem using an acoustic guitar. It did leave my finger tips hurtin but that's cuz I just learned and stuff, besides no pain no gain amirite?

I disliked acoustic guitar because I played electric first.

Sliding on acoustic still tears up my fingers. =\

Acoustic strings themselves are hard on the fingers, it doesnt' matter what they're made of, they're completely different from electric strings in the sense that they are a lot less flexible, they're a lot harder and generally thicker.

I feel your pain.

I've been playing electric guitar for around 5 years and my acoustic still tears up my fingers. :wacky:

I learnt on an acoustic but it didn't have steel strings, and electric strings always hurt my fingers. D: But they've kind of gotten used to it now.. my new acoustic has a slimmer fret board making it rather easy to play, although not when i'm used to the wide one <_<

Wide fret boards are gay, it's like learning bass guitar all over again. :wacky:

Especially when the acoustic has nylon strings, those buggers are unforgiving. :gasp:

Steel strings ftw, those fuckers make your fingers bleed

I'm going to balance out the intelligence in this thread with a stereotypical drummer's comment:

I have no idea about guitars and have no idea what you're talking about.

Now, go see Miss Kitty and she'll fix you up with a nice hooker.

Buy one and I'll teach you over MSN.

You can't go wrong with free lessons. :neomon:

I'll send my old guitar down, and then he can teach you. You can't go wrong with free guitar AND lessons. :neomon:

I'm starting to want to learn guitar lately...
