I Am Legend

I saw this film, but found it disappointing. It had a really slow beginning, then aa really weak end. I'd give it 4/10. It was ok, but I won't be buying it on DVD.

i wont be either lol it was ok in my view but in some places was a bit boring, although i did jump a lot when i watched it lol

Lol, you said you thought it was very good when we came out of the cinema!

true but since then, i have gone over it in my head lol and found some parts boring, still made me jump though lol im not used to watching stuff like that

I liked this, i found it fresh. Everything these days seems to be sequals, prequals, spin offs and remakes and remakes. Pirates of the caribean, shrek3, Rocky balboa, spider man 3, super man returns, batman begins. Even all the big stuff to look forward to is the same. It was nice to have a film thats newly written

It was based on a book written in the 50's which was already made into a film twice already in The Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man so you'll find it's not exactly new material.

And Batman Begins was awesome.

When it came out, me, Aztec, and a few other buddies of mine went to go see it and I had no idea what to expect. I figured it was some post-WWI movie where some radiation caused Zombies and junk.

I think the best part of the story is his ritual he goes through just to survive. I mean you take a look at his house and he's got all this food, water, lab downstairs for his experiments and all, but take a look at the end of the movie when they find out where he loves. I mean
he's got the whole damn surrounding area around his house rigged with explosives and shit!
That was impressive! I don't understand though how he could be so stupid to
step into the foottrap before they are attacked and the dog is fatally injured.

I wasn't expecting the movie to be the way it was.

It wasn't really all that scary, but when I left the theater, my heart was beating quickly. Lots of moments where utter silence suddenly turns into ear-piercing shrieks. Kept surprising me...

Anywho, I thought the movie was pretty good. Not AMAZING, but worth seeing.

We just bought the DVD yesterday and saw the alternate ending scene that they included in the DVD. Anyone saw it yet...? I thought it was pretty dumb but it did confirm my suspicion that the leader was indeed searching for his mate.

Anyway, I thought the original ending was way better as it was truly more dramatic.

Oh, I really do hate Will Smith, and that
foot trap
scene just made me hate him even more. I mean seriously, dumbest move ever. If you see a
mannequin that can't move on its own
out in the middle of nowhere, then you don't
go over and try to talk to it!
It was a good way to capture the character's fluctuating emotions in his going over there, but it still annoyed the crap out of me. I hoped that he would
hang there all night.
Damn knife. :P

I thought the mannequin scenes were hilarious. Being completely removed from human interation for three years would be intense...to say the least.

Yeah. That, and those things were freaking creepy. Most of the time, I was expecting them to respond. I knew that if one of them said 'hello', I was going to get up and out of that theater ASAP.

Crazy shit that is. xD

I hate it when inanimate objects come to life. Creeeepy stuff.

I was also expecting the mannequins to move or say something--you know--just to show that Will Smith was losing his mind.

I coulda sworn Fred was gonna speak before Will...ended things. *cough*

I remember watching this last year sometime, but can't remember too much of it.

It was pretty freaky when he went underground into the dark. >.< I think he heard someone and thought it was another survivor (I think). And then he heard the groans of he zombies. >.<

But yeah it was so sad what happened to his family and that dog was awesome. I can't remember what happened to his dog now actually. I remember it getting hurt, but I don't know if it survived.

Great movie. I have it in my collection. Might give that a watch tonight actually.

old thread.

[Mod Edit: Regardless if it is an old thread or not, it would be pointless if I made another thread on the exact same topic when one is already open. =)]

i didnt read all of the book...not much of a reader, didn't think much of this particular adaptation either. i dont think any of the adaptations have stayed completely true to the novel (when do they ever?) but the omega man was a better "version" imo.

i dont think will smith was a good choice for the character. the ipod and reggae just got on my tits tbh.
