This is different from 'Would you die from your country?' obviously, though it's easily confused, but just for clarification. ;)

How patriotic are you?
Would you defend your country, not necessarily physically, but in any other way than fighting if your country was ever bad-mouthed?

I know I would, even my adopted country the U.S.
I can't turn my back on the country I love.

yeah definately not for the rest of the uk but certainly for scotland:D
im 100% proud to be scottish and id never turn my back on my home

I think most people would. I know I don't let any slate on the UK, particularly England go. The English stereotype of a posh guy in a pinstriped suit drinking a cup of tea, with a butler called Jeeves and who plays cricket at the weekends pisses me right off.

lol haha i hate sterotypes!:D some people seem to think that cuz im scottish i am exactly like grounds keeper willie from the simpsons:mad:

I'd defend agains't the stereotypes of my country but i wont defend the simple truth - that the UK is going to tthe dogs and is generally a crap place to live.

Depends on what they say about America. For instance, if they say America has grown extremely pussified, I would agree.

I'm starting to not like America very much. Not that I'm not proud I'm American, just that the U.S. has been going to hell in the past 10-15 years.

Like I said, depends on what they say. Some things will send me right over the edge.

You mean you don't all wear kilts and have ginger hair? :P.

You can blame that on the chavs, and though it sounds horribly racist, foreigners. I'm going to sound like a front man for the BNP or something, but we're too soft on immigrants and the like. We've lost our values of being British.

No we dont lol:P ahh i just hate u english;)

i kinda agree with what your sayin, but at least here u can have a decent education, get a good job and generally have a pretty comfortable life. This aint the case in other poorer european countries.

Oh don't get me wrong, i adore where i live. but like the towns and stuff, the chavs have just taken over and make peoples lives hell.

Chavs and the pidgeons is what makes me hate the UK so much.

The English part of me is not patriotic, the welsh part is :D

This brings up an interesting point: If you're part of a mixed culture, then how are you supposed to be patriotic.

Take the U.S. for example, the melting pot for all nationalities. Take specifically the second World War, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
The Japanese-Americans were sent to concentration camps and whatnot but then again, they were still loyal to their adopted country.

But that's the good case, some German-Americans chose to side with the Nazis during the war, tearing the nation between two camps.

How are you supposed to decide which country to support?
Your home country, or the country where your roots lie in that case?

You bet I would.

I may not agree with some the policies we’ve taken in the past decade, but I still believe that America IS one of the places to live in world and has the potential of being one the greatest countries of all time, in my opinion.
