Oh my god, this has happened to me so many times and I swear I never learn my lesson! I need to learn to keep my files apart, but at the end I always forget. Since my friends like to play FFVII, I also save their files on my memory card so one day I was letting my best friend save her file and when I went to play my file I realized it was gone. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAINING AND RACING MY DAMN CHOCOBOS!!! TT__TT Third disk and I trained Cloud, Cid, and Tifa to get to at least level 87 or so.:gonk:

ONCE. And it will never happen again. I swear, I went on a rage rampage when I did it. And then a couple weeks later my friend deleted it again... I never let anyone else touch my game files anymore, lol.

Occasionally. I've only done it once or twice to myself, I think. But the one I remember most is when I accidentally overwrote my brother's FF7 save. :ffs:

Our copy of FF6 would occasionally just lose files. That was aggravating as all hell. And one of our seasons on NCAA Football ....2003 I think it was... got corrupted. My brother, my cousin, and I were 3 different teams in the same conference. It was good times.

It's so frustrating isn't it?! XD I swear I yelled a good couple of...not so nice words when I found out and I sulked for a day or two. I started replaying but I was like awww f**k it! I've lost my motivation XD

It took me forever to get back to the game. I was too frustrated. Plus, I knew that I would have to redo everything, and thats what pissed me off the most.

All the hard work and effort. Starting over again is just so hard...especially when you're stuck with Barret at the beginning @_@

I especially hated it when I don't save, like, right after I beat a really hard monster, or trained for a really long time. Thats what drives me nuts. Because it's just like erasing a game file! :rage:

I did it once, because I thought my game was glitched. I was still on the first disk, so it wasnt that bad. It turns out, however, that the game wasnt gitched and that I restarted for no reason -__- Another time I had to delete a save was because my memory card was broken and I lost my data cause it was corrupted.

I'm pretty bad about running out of space, and quickly delete things without thinking. So, then I come back later and they're gone, and I get all mad. So, it's not like I really "lose" them, but I just lose them. I hate it.

I hate when you face a really hard boss, and then you face another without a save point between. It's like losing your soul.

Hahaha! A pain I know all too well, I learned eventually to save my files simutaneously incase of corruption or overwriting, all my games have at least two saved files, just the one file is a huge risky mistake.

It wasn't Final Fantasy VII itself that had a file erased, but Crisis Core. My brother and I would fight over that game and whose turn it is to play. I reached Modeoheim with Zack at a mighty LV 40 when my brother came along with his save at Banora- and saved over my file "by accident". This basically happened: :eek:uttahere:

Once I was playing two files at once. In the first slot I was at the Temple of the Ancients and in the second slot I was at Junon. After getting sick of Temple of the Ancients (like I always do) I started playing the Junon file, and I accidentally saved over the first file.

I don't know why I do the things I do.

I remember this one time that my brother also wrote over one of my files. I was devastated. :( It's hard for me to touch a game and not cry about all the hard work I went through for the damn thing!

I haven't deleted any of my FFVII files and thankfully I don't have to delete any files to clear up space seen as I play my PSone and PS2 games on my PS3 now. There was an incident when I was playing FFIV on an emulator and I lost my file when my computer crashed. Also I accidentally saved over my main FFX file when was doing a speed run to show my friend the game. But besides those two incidents, I've never lost any of my FF files.

I've never deleted my own files because when wiping files out I'm always very careful to wipe out all the game files from games that sucked and that I'm really unlikely to ever play again before I even think of wiping out any game I actually liked.

However I have had a a few get corrupted on either the PS2 or PS1 not sure which, and it is a pretty big pain in the ass. Also on the Xbox 360 everyone just constantly saves over my games. I have to tell them "not to save until I show them how" because for some reason people who have always played video games, but not the Xbox 360 can not operate one for shit.

I've never had this happen.

Usually what I do is I save all my precious save files over onto a spare memory card so that if I do happen to accidentally erase one on my main memory card, I know that I have back-up.

I think I would die if I ever saved over my files. I wouldn't want to start any of them again ever. v_v

I'm the same as Kandy as well in terms of it never happening, although the reason being is that I'll only ever play an RPG one save at a time so I'd complete the game before restarting it. I'd even let my brother or sister play on my save if need be.

The only chance really I'd have of deleting them is if I needed to format my Playstation 3 for some reason or another.

Since this thread's about FFVII, no I've never had this happen to me on that game.

However, I did it once on FFX-2. I started a new game and accidently saved over my other save file, and guess where the save file was? Before the last boss. I hadn't finished the game yet, I just wanted to do a play-through for 100%. I didn't know about the overwriting your save after you finish. I cannot think of the name for it for the life of me... /idiot

Also, on the PS1, my memory card always said "corrupted file" or something along the lines of that for FFVIII. Which meant I had to try a few times for it to save or load. Luckily, it never deleted them. I can't imagine how mad I'd be if it did, though.

I dont think Ive ever erased a file on FFVII, Ive done it a couple of times on other games (FFX, PSO - that one crippled me, I had a level 96 character :sad3: and mysave file got corrupted on another character, 46 I think she was. SUCKS)

Anyway, my problem has always been the memory cards, there's nowt worse than having several games save files saved on a memory card and one day the fucker just ceases to work. I lose everything, and thats happened with a couple of memory cards now ]: Also, I had one stolen too (along with other things, but still, take what you want just leave the fucking memory cards:sad3: )

I have two save files for each game at all times. I alternate overwriting each file, so I have one file from a little while back, and one from where I had just saved. This way, if I get stuck for whatever reason or miss something important, I can go to the previous save file. If one of my save files get lost, I only have to get like 10 minutes of gameplay back, or none depending on which one I lost.
