I'm only fluent in English, though I know a fair bit of Spanish. While in high school, I could hold a conversation (with a bit of difficulty). Since I haven't spoken it in three or so years, I've lost whatever touch I had. Seems I didn't retain it well.

And I know insults in Tangalog or whatever you call it.

Lol "Tag-a-log". Tagalog. Or as some would like to say, "Tag-Along". xD Seriously, seems like those who do try to learn the language or at least pick up a few Tagalog words always learn the bad words first. o_O It's becoming a trend these days.

Anyway, I can also understand some Japanese words and phrases, although not a whole lot. This is mainly because I watched a bunch of anime a few years back, though I really need to get back to watching them again. I also have a friend who's actually rather fluent in Japanese and was teaching me a bit back then.

I used to have a friend who spoke tagalog, she and i taught eachother bits of the languages, sadly I cant remember anything :(.

I speak Spanish (native language) and I have in mind fully mastering English. I am actually trying to self teach Latin but I guess it is not working, so I'll just take a Latin course in college :monster:

After that, I want to learn French... because I believe that France is a very romantic place to visit with someone you care....

I still believe in romance >__>

so what? -__-

I speak English, duh, and I've learnt Latin, French and German in the past.

I'll be damned if I can speak in any of the other three though :wacky:

English, only.
I was forced to take three years of Spanish, but since I failed the class twice (because I was rebellious XD), I can't speak it at all, really. XD Spanish is overrated. :wacky:

I know a few things about the Japanese language from watching anime, but I'm definitely not capable of holding a simple conversation.

Let's say I am very, very, very close to you :)

Anyway...I wonder if learning German is hard....

And concerning Spanish being overrated....that is not true :stare:

English, French (I live in Quebec), Spanish (many years of tough stuff at school), Bulgarian (where I originate). :P

I'm sure I'll forget spanish soon enough, I very much disliked learning it.

Well, I speak fluent English obviously, and I'm pretty good at German. I wouldn't say I'm fluent, but I can speak, write, read and understand it well, so I'm getting there! I've been considering going to Germany for a year aswell once I finish school, so hopefully that will help.

I chose 3 though because I'm learning French, and although I don't know a lot of vocabulary yet, I'm understanding it well so far. :monster: I have an awful habit of starting sentences in French and then finishing them in German... much to the annoyance of whoever I'm talking to. :wacky:

I really want to learn more languages.. I think once I get better at French I'm going to try and teach myself Italian or Swedish or something.

Anyway...I wonder if learning German is hard....
It's apparently more difficult to learn than the likes of French, but that'll be because of all the grammar. German has lots of specific rules about grammar, and I never really noticed how much it had until I started learning French, but saying that I really enjoy it. >_> On the plus side, it's a phonetic language so pronounciation and spelling are easy-peasy. :monster:

Has anyone here took chinese or japanese? Those strike me as really hard just because of the writing. If you put a . next to one of the characters it completely changes its meaning :gasp:

I am somewhere in the Caribbean.

Anyway, my high school math teacher speaks German, and she tends to use it when she gets angry, which is rare.

I'd say I know 3. I know Tagalog (Filipino), English obviously, and a bit of Spanish. I know all the grammatical rules and all that, but my vocabularly isn't really all that sophisticated and infinite.

English is my first language...but since I am hearing impaired it took me many years and a lifetime of classes to sound my words our correct...which in turn has made it very hard for me to learn other languages.

Although I am hearing impaired I still started learning Spanish and Japanese in second grade and third grade. I retook Spanish in high school and I relearned Japanese by playing Final Fantasy XI online. I was one of the highest level North American players so I was forced into learning to speak Japanese in order to get a party.

So I just speak three...would have been four but my Belgian teacher moved away not to long ago. :(

2 languages english and german....
although iv forgotten most of it

I speak English and Chinese. I used to know a lot of French, but after 2 years of not speaking it, I kind of forgotten a lot of it.

I only speak English as of now, but I've always wanted to learn another language. I can say a few words in others languages such as German, Polish, Spanish and a little Japanese but not enough to say I can speak their language.

i took spanish last year as a shophmore and hated it.... so im just gonna stick wit english and say i have 1 :D
