Okay, Cloud had a pretty bad ass attitude, if you ask me. And personally, I thought he looked really cool, too.

Characters in the story comment on how manly or tough Cloud is. But, since all these characters say he's so manly why can the Don and other guys be tricked into thinking he's a woman?

He's got manly hands, shoulders, and a build--so what the hell? Are all those guys gay or something. :gonk:

I love Cloud and all but I'm confused on how men could think he was a girl.

That still doesn't answer meh question. But what ever. I still say they were gay.

I don't think there is any definite answer to this question. I'm rather curious as well. :hmmm:

We'll just have to assume that it was one heck of a disguise to fool the Don like that - even to get him to choose Cloud over Tifa and Aerith. xD

Either that or the Don was focusing on the least manliest part of Cloud - his face. :dave:

Grr, Cloud's face is hella sexy *growls* No but, yea. I agree he was probably focusing on something else... but what. Maybe his face, but I don't know.

OR, the Don is actually attracted to men and he was okay with it.

Well, there are plenty of men out there that can easily pass for a woman when they cross dress. :hmmm:

Either Cloud made a really attractive woman or the Don was so horny he didn't care. Or possibly because it's a game and you're reading way too much into it. :dave:

Lol, probably both. And it's supposed to be a silly nonsensical thread :britt:

Then I shall move it to where all silly nonsensical threads belong: FF Fun.

Let the nonsense commence. :dave:

Damn, I always forget about that place >.< Thanks xD

I never got the scenario where Don picks Cloud (thankful for it, too). After Don hands Cloud over to his henchmen, one of them tries to feel him up only to mention that his body felt a bit muscular. Considering his already lean frame and the dress that covers his arms, I'd say Cloud could pass for a lady under the right lighting, mood, and make-up. Well then again...so could every FF male protagonist.

In the beginning of the game, he was a pretty decent hardass. Like the part where he's talking back to Mr. T's, gun-arm equipped clone was pretty cool. But there's nothing really "manly" about a guy who spends all of his time talking about how he let people down and blah, blah, blah. I had a friend tell me that he hated Kingdom Hearts because they "pussied up" Cloud and I just asked him "Did you see Advent Children?" Through out the whole movie, "I'm no use to anyone." Yeah, reeeeal manly.

I wouldn't say Cloud is the manliest thing around.. But you're right, he does have some masculinity. I also agree that this is heavily lost in his facial structure. He has a thin face and very cat-like features. He may be muscular but he's also really thin for a man.

That still doesn't answer meh question. But what ever. I still say they were gay.

ROFL. I lol'd so hard. I needed that laugh. Seriously, he woke up in a house with other dudes, not remembering what happened, and went along with cross dressing. I don't care what anyone says, he could've refused, and Tifa, and Aerith could've easily pulled off that stunt without him.

He gay.

I would consider him manly if he finally admitted that he likes Tifa or Aerith, but he's always so conserved about it. Or if he kissed a girl, but really, he's just strange. Maybe gay, but then again... Maybe... :hmmm:

Now this is a common happening when there are voiced spin-offs of old video games that didn't really have voiceovers. Advent Children's events obviously will have a bigger impact in your memories since, for one, odds are that was watched few years/months ago, unlike the original Final Fantasy VII. And also, because obviously, it's Advent Children lol.

Unlike pretty much 80% people here, I do think Cloud was, indeed, quite a manly character... well, maybe not MANLY as in Chuck Norris manly, but if you REALLY want Emo, just try Squall, the guy who's most common quotes include: "..." and "...Whatever."

No, Cloud was indeed quite decisive and headstrong. He was mindf*cked in Advent Children because that's the direction Square Enix wanted to go with his personality. Why? It'd make it more interesting. Everybody loves the emo boys. Even big-shot companies like Square Enix catches on to this. No matter how much you pick on his "weakness", you would never really have it any other way.
But in the game, he was actually a pretty strong minded fella, and you never even see much of his emotion up until Aerith gets killed and... little else. The man talks about Sephiroth destroying his village like he's telling his kids a bedtime story.

Now, I do think they were "trying" to appeal to the fans' humanity. Let's not forget that all of the spin-offs that Final Fantasy VII suffered were NOT planned back in the day, and after introducing more segments to the entire storyline - inevitably using Cloud as a piece of the puzzle - there would be things about him that you wouldn't even guess just by playing the game, such as the ending part of Crisis Core, which, I obviously am not gonna spoil for anybody else who hasn't finished.
After all that's happened, Cloud was obviously traumatized in a way that a real human probably would have. Unlike Squall who's... well, just generally acting like a spoiled brat who gets bullied in rich-school by Seifer.

Was he manly? The guy lost his memories, lived with memories that this hero actually destroyed his village and killed his mother, eventually finds out his memories are all mixed up with those of the man who saved his life and died doing so, then has the only girl he ever fell in love with killed in front of him by the same hero he loved, falls into a pit of Mako and becomes catatonic... I mean. What do you expect him to be, freakin' Rikku?
The fact he still comes to his mind to help save the world from the Remnants and Sephiroth in Advent Children in and of itself is already a proof of bravery that a lot of people seem to ignore. And that, is sort of... uncaring of them.

I say he was like 40% manly. He whines ALOT and as stated earlier, he doesn't show much feelings towards Tifa or Aerith. In Advent Children all he had was Tifa, and he still didn't show that he was interested much. I just think he's one of those reeeeeally sensitive types who don't really like opening up...

And to the person in front of me....um....this is about Cloud and his manliness....so um....that could mean in looks or personality...You're basically agreeing that he wasn't manly saying that his experiences made him that way. You added alot that wasn't really asked for....Maybe you should make a rant thread about it! You seem good at it. ^_^

But anyways mostly ALL of the guys in FF are a little feminine so it would be way too easy for those guys to think Cloud was a woman. Heck! My mom thought Vincent was a lady at first! :P

I can see that his face is the most feminine thing on him. But his body isn't really thin. He's only 5"8' and he's "bigger" in body structure than most men that size--Johnny Depp, Zac Effron for an example.

:mark:
Have I ever told you how I killed a man with a spoon because he called Cloud gay? :thehell: Cloud's got girls throwing themselves at him left and right. And he's dated three, he's a pimp.

That last part made me lmao. You funny, man. But yea, I agree.

Wow, bravo! I completely agree. That's why I love Cloud so much. He's dealt with so much but he never really "cries" about it, like what Squall does. And in the end, that pretty much makes Cloud pretty damn manly.

Why is this in the "fun" section again.

Someone called Cloud Gay? :thehell:

Anyways, I thought that he was very manly. He sure acted manly imo. And he looked manly, too. Even as a polygonal figure, he showed many characteristics of a man, the big muscled, the burly shape, everything. Wow, he had one tranny scene where he dressed up as a woman. Even the guys that wanted a "fun time" with him realized that he was in fact no woman.

He may have acted emotional in AC, but it was not to the extent that he could be classified as a man. He was just blaming himself for events that he thought he held the blame for. He later manned up and accepted the fact that what happened happened and that he needed to move on, becoming even more of a man. He really never came across to me as a woman in the least

I love your way of thinkin', mate. I completely agree. He looks like man--his muscles, hair, even his clothes, so he's pretty manly by that. And you're right, him moving on and forgiving himself for the past really does make him a man.
