How did you feel about traveller's spheres healing the party completely?

Healing Save Spheres just remove a unnecessary step of buying and using tent when you save. Tents weren't so expensive in previous games and I usually just grabbed 99 as soon as possible so that I could stop worrying about not being able to heal when I need.

Do you save money then? I guess you do. I personally never run out of money in FF games. There might be one spot where I just waste all I've collected to get fully supplied but it doesn't take much time to grind that money back. In Final Fantasy X I actually DID run out of money often. One reason was Yojimbo of course because I wanted to be sure of getting Zanmato against Dark Anima and Bahamut^_^ But it's really easy to grind your money back in FFX also.

And I did find dungeons harder than in previous games. Like Mt. Gagazet was a pain in the ass because enemies deals something like 1000 damage which was 30% of my health (50% to some) so I had to use healing spells all the time. Eventually Yuna ran out of mana and I would have been in deep shit if it wasn't for... AL BHED POTIONS! (I had 99)

So the real question here is are the Al Bhed Potions overpowered:shh:

It was a bit annoying at times, because... well it was just too gosh darned convenient!!!!! Sure you can buy tents and do the same, but at least then you have to save up money to do so, HENCE, more of a challenge.
This being said, there were times when FFX was a challenge and the save sphere feature did not detract from this. I still feel it was too cheeky though...

I prefer the more traditional format. I don't know why, but I love buying potions, lotions and all such things. It makes you feel more accomplished. And then, when you don't have one when you really need it... things get interesting ;).

Not a fan really. Liked having occasional inns for resting like FFIII. Gives the game a bit of a challenge in that respect.

I think the spheres work well in the game. The game is still challenging, and it does make healing the whole party less tedious; the short animations when the party goes into a tent in FFIX takes some time.

The spheres in X didn't make the game easier. They were well-placed, you couldn't heal anywhere, and some gaps made it rather challenging. I'll never forget my battles against Evrae several years ago... It took me 50 attempts (no joke) and there was no sphere immediately afterwards!!!! So Seymours soliders killed me.
