Clearly this is the greatest PS game of all time. Better than all those shitty finaru fanatariji games everyone here seems to be obsessed with.
This thread is to discuss and praise that great game. I assume that is the purpose of these threads. Who remembers it etc etc, what did you like about it etc etc. That kind of shit.

It really is an awesome game. I hate the fact that we never saw a sequel to it, because this was genuinely one of the most addictive and funniest games to have popped up towards the end of the PSone's lifespan with such little fanfare. I think what I remember fondly when playing it was the multiplayer, where my sister and I would take it in turns to lay hands on the controller and use our turns to just steal as many pickups as we could get in the alloted time before blowing each other's pigs up with bazookas or cluster grenades, or just jumping into a tank and running over an enemy pig. I remember bits of the storyline - the stereotyping of the Americans, Brits and Russians for example - and I loved the voiceovers, particularly the accents each of the different pig armies had. xD

Overall, it's one of those crazy, imaginative games that come out of nowhere to really captivate you. It's RPGs like these that really sober you up after being drunk on all these JRPGs with super serious storylines and whiny brat characters. I love games that take the mickey out of themselves (taking turns to blow the crap out of each other in war is very polite indeed, General). It's a huge shame that no sequel or anything came out of it. I can only imagine what new kind of maps could have been created for the PS2 or something. :gonk:

it was absolutely excellent, at least as good as worms but a lot more underrated. me and my mates used to spend hours on the multiplayer, i thought that was definitely its strength rather than the single player which could get a little repetitive later on.

the russians were my favourite, but i always ended up being the english.

I was always the Japanese, they were called the Sushi Swine, I think they had the best lines but I can't remember. It's been ages since I last played it.
I agree that the multiplayer was the best thing about it. I made my parents buy me a multi-tap just for this game. Me and my friends used to spend hours playing, there were two types of games, one in which if the pigs died they didn't come back, and one when if they did die you got more pigs.
I never managed to finish the single player, partly because I wasn't very good at it and partly because I used to let my friends play and they'd get all my promoted pigs killed:rage:
