As you all could probably tell, I am rather new here (joined approximately 3.4 minutes ago as of writing this sentence). I stumbled upon an advertisement for your site on another forum I once frequented. That forum's long dead now, and as I usually do when I'm bored and want to find something productive to occupy my time with, I scour the advertisement & affiliation section of forums I used to call home in search of a new one. Unfortunately, given the duration of places I've recently been on, they're more like a chain of hotels rather than homes. This place looks very active, so if I enjoy my time here as much as I anticipate to, I think I've found a new nest. I also hope you guys enjoy my company as much as I will yours. It's very hard for me not to get along with people unless they are particularly disagreeable, and I hope I will meet nobody like that here! c:

What brings me here, you ask? Even if you didn't ask, I'm going to tell you. Years after abandoning my FFXII playthrough, caused by a condition I like to call "gamer's apathy & lack of committment syndrome," I've since forgotten about the entire realm of Final Fantasy. That is, until a few months ago a friend of mine mentioned that the thirteenth installment in the series was in development and soon to be released as he showed me a trailer, which promptly caused a glimmer of hope to shine within my heart and my pants to grow a little tighter. "Will there finally be a decent and intuitive RPG that will capture my interest for the entire duration of the game?" I asked myself, and upon hype generated by my friend alone and my own expectations of Square Enix, I immediately got my ass out to EB (Canada's Gamestop chain) to pre-order it.

I never went on the internet to search for people talking about FFXIII. I didn't want any more videos of it other than the one my friend sent me. I wanted to limit my exposure to pre-release game information so that I would have little to no preconceptions about it. This way I did not expect anything of the game, and could formulate an opinion as I played it.

After waiting in line for the midnight release, I finally got my game, with a promotional poster and mini-guide included for pre-orders. I regret not purchasing the collector's edition guide, but I was strapped for cash at the moment and I disliked using guides because they ruined the experience for me. As soon as I got home I popped the first disk into my 360 (don't throw rocks at me :c), chugged my coffee, and began my 8-hour or so session of playing FFXIII. Square Enix did not disappoint me.

Anyway, this sparked a desire to find a community where I could discuss the game that rekindled my interest in the Final Fantasy series, so here I am. I hope to get to know you all better and possibly make some friends. c:

Nice intro there. "Chains of hotels"...lol.

Welcome to FFF, my friend, and hopefully we get to see you more around here. :) Have fun playing FF13 - I know I am.
