My name is SilentMage, a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy series. My very first game was, well, Final Fantasy on the NES. Needless to say, the series has come a long way from those intrepid Light Warriors. :)

I joined this board primarily to see if this would be a good place to share Final Fantasy-inspired fan-fiction. I'm actually in the middle of a rather long story at the moment, so they'll be something to share very soon once I know where to post such things!

When I'm not writing, which is one of my recently revitalized hobbies, I'm usually out and about with friends or co-workers, hiking, biking, and logging as much time into my PC/console games as I can manage.

I look forward to meeting more of this community!

It is nice to know you write fan fiction and I am always interested to see what fellow members come up with, this is definitely the place for all your FF gossip and discussion Kupo!

Also nice to know you PC game as well :) What do you play on the PC then might have to add me on steam or on origin if its an EA game. (If you are on steam there is a FFF steam group which might be good for you to join)

Hi Mosh! I'm primarily a Steam gamer - my name there is "Deranged_101" (with the underscore). Currently I'm heavy into State of Decay, which recently got patched to the point where it's very playable on the PC without a gamepad (keyboard+mouse FTW!), but I play a wide variety of games, from FPS to puzzles and simulations to RPGs. I'll be sure to look for the FFF group once I'm home tonight.

I just posted my question on fan-fiction thread locations on the Help forum, but perhaps you can point me in the right direction? I do feel this community's input would be great on many levels.

Other writing comes under Spira>Luca>Writers Boulevard and there whatever subcategory like FF Fan Fiction or ordinary fiction etc.

I wanted to buy state of decay but because it doesn't have multiplayer I was disappointed by it, I felt it was a game that screamed co-op play with friends. I am just playing Battlefield 4 on PC lately I haven't got many new games on PC to be honest. I am starting to though an no doubt the coming christmas steam sale will put a dent there.

That seems a bit buried (four forums deep)... but hopefully there are forum-legal ways to drive traffic to posts. Either way, I hope the premise of the story is unique enough to get someone to read the first chapter. :lew:

As for State of Decay, I've been following it since it was released on the X360, but patiently waited for its PC debut. Paid full price, and now with it patched up, I feel it was worth every dollar. In summary, I feel that it approaches the zombie game genre in a unique direction that few games have tackled: group survival and the social implications of being put in a post-apocalyptic scenario. The closest game I can think of whose goal is this is Project Zomboid, but development for that's slowed down quite a bit in recent months IMO. For many reasons, I feel Decay really lives up to the job, though it could definitely be improved - hopefully the PC modding scene can answer that call!

And Battlefield 4... yeah, that will undoubtedly consume many hours of time, especially multiplayer. I fear the coming Steam sale... my credit card is not ready. And let's not get started about Humble Bundle! :busta:
