From wikipedia:

According to the New York City Police Department, Ledger was found dead in his apartment in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan on January 22, 2008.
Sewell Chan of The New York Times writes:"At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A of 421 Broome Street in SoHo for an appointment with Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Ledger unresponsive. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near his body."

Yeah, I read that too O_O That was something I seriously didn't expect. I really liked him as an actor :( I hope they finished The Dark Knight. It'll be his last hit.

...That sucks. I just read the news online a few minutes ago. And he just finished playing the role of The Joker too. And...I heard that he was 29. Well whichever...

It could have been the role of The Joker that killed him off, since it says on Wikipedia that he only got like 3 hours sleep a night so he'd have that crazed look, or something =/

Sad that a good actor died, but I'm relieved he finished the next Batman film first...

OMFG!!! what hes dead????!!!! he waz one of my favorite actors!!! please say this is a joke!! omg im hyperventilateing (cant spell it)

Although the film may have been wrapped up the predicament is, do Warner Bros actually the release the film on schedule and everyone remembers it as Ledger's last act or do they take his family into consideration first?

They will most likely release the film but until they make an official statement then who knows what will happen.

dam, just found out. i was at school so when i found out i was shocked.
its tragic that he died so young

this is horrible!! he waz an awesome actor :( i am going to miss watching him onscreen and i feel horrible 4 his family. why did he have 2 die so young???

the good die young. also he isnt the first and wont be the last, but i doubt his family will take much comfort in that.

they havent determined how he died yet, but i bet he ODed on drugs

It's been said that he accidently ODed on drugs, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Tragic however it happened.

And I can't see WB delaying the film because of this. It's due out in June and I'd imagine they'll have released a statement way before then.

Yeah, I was talking to my friend about this today, she said that she heard he took an overdose on drugs, but she thinks it was prescription medicine?

Such a tragedy that he died though. x_x Personally, I've never seen any of his films, but it's always terrible when someone dies so young. =( I just hope that his family are coping.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. It sounds like it was an accidental overdose. How stupid and avoidable.

I really hope they don't mess around with the Dark Knight because of this. :( And I guess there will either be no more Batman movies by Nolan or the Joker won't be in them. Dammit! The Joker is my favorite Batman villain!

I also heard rumors that he died at Mary Kate Olsen's apartment...but then they were denying the report after.

Ah well, it truly is sad...he was a very good actor.

the horrible thing is he waz just starting to make his way up. all of his movies up until now hadnt really been oscar worthy, but he waz starting to try and take more noticable roles. i just cant believe it :( im still in shock.

He was a very talented actor, and he was young too and still had a lot ahead of him. I was a fan of some of his movies, didn't like his acting that much in his earlier films though.

I kinda wish I knew if it was deliberate or not. It is sad to know that someone who had so much would succumb to that, and I don't think my view on him would change even if it were true.

My boyfriend texted me about this and I was very upset. He was a great actor and its harsh for him to die so young. May he rest in peace.

I just realised that this is the guy who played Patrick in 10 Things I Hate About You. God, he was really good in that. I might check out more of his films... such a waste of talent. =/

what can we say? life is just unfair sometimes
he was a very good actor I liked Knight's Tale it was pretty good
