Hi. Im new here so if this post is in a wrong place or has anything wrong please erase the post. I just wanted to know in your opinions wich are the easiest and hardest final fantasy games.

Of the games I have played (and completed) which is
- FFX
- FFX-2
- FFXII

I must say that for me it is FFX.
FFX had a not to hard main storyline when it came to bosses thou I must say alot of the boss battles can be and will be frustrating in that game. Like some of the forced battles are a pain in the ass. The post-game is hard as absolute hell for me so I will say it's the hardest.

FFX-2 is easier but mainly more draining and time consuming on a ridicolous level. Especially when you are trying to get 100%.

FFXII is only hard until you figure out the battle system.
I think someone with a bigger knowledge of the FF series can help with information here thou.
:se7:

I found the hardest Final Fantasy game to be the very first one actually. It is hard only if you don't bother grinding and levelling up enough. I didn't have the patience to do any power levelling, and I found some bosses rather punishing, especially as you only have the "Attack" or various other abilities such as magic at your disposal. FFI has no limit breaks or summons to aid you additionally.

I remember hating Mount Gulg so much. I found the long corridors, the harmful passageways and the waves of monsters hard enough without an angry Marilith staring at my party and trying to deep fry them consistently.

As for the easiest, it is either FFX-2 or Crisis Core (in Normal difficulty). Of course, getting 100% in FFX-2 is by no means easy (just tedious), but beating the game cannot be easier. The enemies were mostly weak, even the final boss. Crisis Core was the same if you're talking only about the main storyline content.

Final Fantasy XII was definitely the easiest. You can set-up the gambit system in such a way as to let go of the controller and just let the game beat everything for you. I think it was in the mines where you could let the game fight those skeletons, come back a day later and be oodles of levels higher and still at full-health. If you didn't want to use the gambit system, it didn't even make it harder--just annoying--, because the game pauses every time you want to attack. Worst battle system evar. Final Fantasy VIII was also ridiculously easy.

As for the hardest Final Fantasy game... I'm not sure. There were hard parts in most of the games, but none of them were extremely hard overall. They just had a few hard battles.

I'd say FFIX was the easiest, as long as you kept up to date with your equipment, and had a few abilities, it was pretty easy. During my first playthrough, only Necron provided a challenge, the rest of the game was easy. I'm only going on storyline battles though, since each game has a ridiculously hard optional boss.

I think FFIV or FFV was the hardest FF. The amount of grinding needed in those games are ridiculous. I've never managed to complete either game, they just end up annoying me. I dislike having to grind for hours before advancing in the storyline >_>

I thought Final Fantasy XII was comfortably the easiest, I think the only part I struggled on was the Elder Wyrm but anything up until then was a breeze and after I levelled a bit to beat the Elder Wyrm is was breeze from there on after as well. Even if you didn't use the gambit system (I never touched it), it was still easy. Final Fantasy X was pretty easy too, mind.

As for the hardest, I'd say Final Fantasy I or II (from the ones I've played) especially the original versions. The PSP remakes aren't too bad as you aren't thrown into the deep end pretty much straight off, but the dungeon crawling is still horrible.

Hardest: FF 1. It seemed too hard and they didnt separate the monsters near your level from the higher level monsters, thus I was brutally killed sometimes :thehell: Having to level grind so much did not help either

Easiest: FF X. It seemed pretty easy to me after I got Tidus to go down Auron's route on the sphere grid. The Omega ruins were a walk in the park despite how scary they looked. The bosses were quite easy and the items that Rikku could use made surviving a little too easy.

Hmm, I really haven't play the first FFs but i've played FFV and up I really don't have the hardest... that I can think of because most of them were fairly easy IMO (didnt get to finish V T.T but the easiest was probably IX or XII I think IX because when I played it was just too quickly. As long as you have money and things to synthesis and get in tip-top shape then from there it was waaay too easy >_> The only guy I had an issue with was the last boss >_> I didnot like him at all.

Easiest: FFX-2. Not much of a challenge, although it made up for it by being fun.

Hardest: FFVII. I wouldn't call FFVII a hard game in comparison to other genuinely hard games I've played, like Devil May Cry 3, but it was hard for me because it was the first ever RPG I ever played and I only gave a shufti at the tutorial so I struggled through a lot of the game. For example, it took me 30 hours to eventually realise that my characters took more damage while standing closer to the enemy and I remember being consistently battered and killed by the Materia Kepper's stupidly powerful 'Hell Combo' attack. Not fun.

Easiest: I'd have to give this to X. Although, I did find Sin haed on the airship. X-2 followed as another easy game.
Hardest: I could say XII, because I found leveling-up took way too long to keep with the bosses. II was hard too, because of the stat system...how many times must you hurt yourself to increase your health enough to carry on?

Easiest: FF9 or FFX

Hardest: FF2. Most of the harder FF games require you to grind more. FF2 pretty much requires you to have a working long term plan for your characters.

Hmm. I asked this because I didnt know what to play, X or XII. Gess Ill try both. And I used to really want to play I and II, but not anymore. Thanks for all the replies!

FFIX is by far the easiest FF I played (I played every game from VI to XII, besides XI). If you learned all the abilities from the equipment, you were pretty much immune to everything later on in the game when you have enough ability stones. With no worries about status effects and automatic healing every turn (auto regen), the only thing left for you is offence, which is also really easy if you take the time to max out the power of some abilities (Freya's dragon attack, Quina's Frog Drop, etc.)

Every FF after VI was really easy with VII being the hardest of the games after VI. This is from the opinion of someone who does first playthroughs without a guide(much more fun I promise, and it makes the second playthrough more enjoyable because there is more to find). VIII, IX, X, were super easy. Hardest one I've played it III. Just played it recently.

I found VIII and XII the hardest actually and X to be the easiest...
VII was also pretty challenging but I never had any major problems with it (apart from the weapons sidequest...) and IX was quite easy, but also very good.

Just to say, I only ever use strategy guides 2nd or 3rd playthroughs, just so I can do everything. But, I had to look up a few things about XII up on the internet just to get through the first playthrough of the main game, so I guess I'd have to say that's the hardest game I've played.

I wouldn't say difficulty always makes them the best though. XII is no way by far my favourite...

Easiest: Probably Final Fantasy VII. If you don't go for any of the Weapons, there really aren't any enemies that are particularly challenging.

Hardest: Final Fantasy Tactics. The difficulty level could be absolutely punishing at times in this game. I don't think I was more than 3 battles into it before I hit a fight I needed 4 attempts to get past.

FFXII is very easy indeed, but only if you get adjusted to the battle system and set your tactics correctly. It starts off a little difficult, but evens out once you get used to it. At least, that is what I found.

The hardest FF...I'd say that would be Crystal Chronicles, if you're playing it by yourself. That moogle companion has absolutely no stamina whatsoever, and it becomes highly inconvenient - and dangerous - carrying that chalice around by yourself.

That said, the recent remakes of FFIII and FFIV on the DS were absolutely unforgiving. The ending of FFIII is horrendously punishing, and there is no one to hold your hand in either of the games, meaning you'll get lost quite a bit, and that is quite often fatal if you don't find your way back to a town...

Easiest had to be Final Fantasy 6. I completed that with no ease and relatively all the side quests.

Hardest: Well, none of the FF games have been hard for me but FF9 originally took me 86 hours to complete EVERYTHING (Apart from Excalibur II) without a guide and not knowing what I was doing.

Easiest: Final Fantasy X-2 hands down.

That game was easy because it required no strategy whatsoever. You could practically beat the game even if you were comatose.

Hardest that I've played: toss up between Final Fantasy I and V

The job system gives Final Fantasy V a difficulty which hasn't yet been matched for me. And Final Fantasy I was just plain stupid hard. It was insane.

FFVII, for me, was very easy. Unless you were willing to spend time trying to obliterate the optional bosses, the boss monsters that were story related really weren't that bad.

Now, the hardest I think.....is FFV. To be honest, half the time, I had no clue whatsoever what I was doing, and when I did know, I'd get my ass kicked all over the place by the boss. I think that's the only FF that made my brain throb so hard.
