While I will still be working on the MogShop this week, I'd like to take this time to announce that we've added a new currency called "GP" (Gold Points). You can check this by viewing the Currency in the navbar. This will be a special type of currency and cannot be earned simply by posting or making threads. GP will be manually adjusted by admins and mods (if they're doing small competitions). GP can mostly be earned by participating in big forum events such as Birthweek and Survivor. Occasionally, we will give them out as rewards (anywhere from 1-5 GP) for smaller events like Secret Santa, White Elephant, and other miscellaneous competitions we might be doing throughout the year. Basically, GP will be much harder to earn than Gil and are rarely given by the staff.

All mascots that we put up on the shop can be purchased by GP only. Every now and then I will toss a gift card that costs GP, first come first serve. There will be other incentive for earning GP, so do your best to collect GP when the opportunity strikes.

Other ways of earning GP:

In the MogShop, I've added three custom items called 'Exchange Ticket'. Members can purchase a ticket (with Gil) in order to exchange some of their Gil with GP. The most GP you can earn through this little system is currently 3 GP, and you may only purchase one ticket every 90 days. This is due to the fact that there are many of us who have tons of Gil (plus Bank interest). So do expect that these tickets will be pretty expensive...and continue saving up Gil.

Also, we have a new event coming up soon, which involves earning GP for upcoming mascots sale, among other things. So stay tuned!

Edit:

This info is outdated. Please check Gil & GP Currency instead.

I'm totally pumped for this. Nothing will stop me from earning that mascot....provided they are not just a whole bunch of cactuars. :sad3:

I also like this incentive in terms of getting the community spirit up, it's very inspiring. :grouphug:

Speaking of mascots btw, where was that other wave of thons since they were so little in number?

this is a very fun idea... very competitive, too. good job, guys. :ryan:
