      Currency System

Information about the site's currency system and how they work can be found here. Please take the time to read carefully.

This site has three different currency: Gil, Community Tokens (CT) and GP (Gold Points). You can view your Gil, CT, and GP in vBCredits.

As users earn Gil and GP, they can purchase all sorts of goodies in MogShop.

Items that can be bought varies depending on member usergroup (for example, colored usernames are not available for new members to purchase), but for the most part, all users can purchase special privileges and upgrades for their account. Make sure to read the item description for more information of each item type.

      Gil Currency:

      What is Gil?

Gil is the normal type of currency used here. A member can easily acquire Gil by being active on the forums and performing 'activities'. To view your Activity Information, go to your Profile > Activity tab. Gil that a user has earned so far based on activity can be viewed there as well.

New activities (reputation, likes, thanks received) have also been added as a way for members to show their appreciation/support for contributory and quality posts.

      Points (Gil) System:

      ACTIVITY GIL
      Points for Posts 2
      Points for Threads 5
      Points for Poll Votes 5
      Points for Reputation (Received) 1
      Points for Blogs 10
      Points for Blog Comments 3
      Points for Thanks (Received) 1
      Points for Likes (Received) 1
      Points for Quiz Completed 10
      Points for Registration 25
      Points for Review Created 25
      Points for Review Comments 3

You do not earn Gil by posting in [Post Count Disabled] sections such as Spam, Final Fantasy Fun, and FF Miscellaneous section.

You can also earn Gil for winning contests and participating in events. Be on the look out for announcements as we hold a few events every year. Regularly-ran contests such as SOTW (Signature of the Week) and GSC (Game Screenshot Competitions) are easy ways to earn Gil, so be sure to join or at least cast your vote!

What can I purchase with Gil?

Members can purchase basic features such as increased storage PM capacity, user title perks, colored thread, and the likes. Final Fantasy sprites in the Ancient Forest shop are also great for gifting! In addition, users can purchase Birthday and Christmas gifts for their friends using Gil, and the recipient(s) will manually receive 1 CT via vBCredits. Birthday gifts are limited in stock...but available all year round! Christmas gifts are available in December only.

      CT Currency:

      What is CT?

Community Tokens is a new currency added in July 2016. A user cannot earn CT the same fashion as earning Gil - it is not tied to vBActivity in any way. Instead, CT is earned by participating/winning in our contests and events held throughout the year, so be sure to watch out for them! Features around the forums (Study Panel, Awards, Groups, and Raffles) are also tied to the CT. Additionally, CT is regularly handed out in GSC and SOTW so be sure to join and participate! For more info, please be read GSC/SOTW guidelines respectively.

What can I purchase with CT?
While Gil is mostly for basic features and permissions, CT is an incentive to boost activity through special perks like colored usernames, smiley purchases, and the likes.

      EARNING COMMUNITY TOKENS COMMUNITY TOKENS

      Forum Active Time Event Varies
Article Comments 1 CT per week
      Participating/Winning Competitions Varies

      GP Currency:

      What is GP?

Gold Points is a special type of currency that is much harder to acquire. A user cannot earn GP the same fashion as earning Gil and CT, due to the monetary value attached to it. Most importantly, this is another incentive for raising our community spirit and a special way for saying thank you for the continued support and contribution. The only way to receive GP is through Admin rewards, which will be manually adjusted (via vBCredits) and monitored. Earning/collecting awards via Milestone Awards is also a great way of earning GP so be sure to take advantage and reap those rewards!

What can I purchase with GP?
GP is strictly tied to monetary rewards (e.g. gift cards, games) so do your best to collect GP when the opportunity strikes!

      Redeeming Codes:

Members can also redeem special codes earned through various events and instantly get credited for it! It is the members' responsibility to redeem their codes as soon as possible since all codes have a one week expiration. If you miss the chance to redeem, then unfortunately you'll miss out on the GP reward. The 'Redeem' option will only work for user's own account.

How many times can I redeem codes?

Each code is designed to be redeemable once.

      How to Redeem:
Codes can be redeemed in the vBCredits pop up table. There are a couple steps involved.

Select Gil from the dropdown menu, then back to Gold Points.

The option to enter code will now appear. Hit Submit when you're done.

      Currency Donations:

New system implemented for Gil donations (GP cannot be donated under any circumstances). Users may no longer be able to use Donate feature under MogShop. Along with interest collection, this has now been disabled as of November 2015.

Users can now use 'Transfer' (the new term for donate) via vBCredits and this will be regularly monitored by the staff. To quickly access your Currency panel from the forum page, click 'Currency' underneath the navbar. Select Gil and a small table will prompt you to set an amount to transfer Gil from your account to another user account.

The transfer cap is set to 50 Gil per user account (once a month), so please keep track of your logs. If you donate 50 Gil multiple times to the same users in the same month, the staff will send a PM to both sender and recipient accounts. If it turns out to be a misunderstanding and not being aware of the limit, the staff will make adjustments to both accounts and restore Gil properly. Otherwise, any abuse or refusing to follow regulations will result in disciplinary action (e.g. adjustments made to recipient account but happily accepting extra 'donations' from sender and directing it to FFFBank).

The system will not allow you to donate more than 50 Gil to any users (staff included), so even if you donate 100 Gil, the system will only take 50 Gil from your account. Our system is forbidden to steal from users - unless you wish to freely donate funds to FFFBank (always accepting hugs and Gil).

You can transfer 50 Gil to multiple user accounts - there is no limit for this.

This is a necessary setup to create an ideal balance that will keep our users coming back to shop and also raise the value of Gil, especially through contest rewards that the staff organize on a regular basis. We needed to bring back stability to the whole system.

For questions regarding the Gil, CT, and GP currency, please contact the staff.
