Not really, if they have recieved special instructions from SE themselves due to the special circumstances, then its more than possible for this kind of thing to happen, and its definatley not unheard of, the same has happened before with the likes of Halo 3 and even Half Life 2.

The first instance of street date breaking I remember was Streets of Rage 2's release, after the runaway success of Streets of Rage 1 they allowed it to be released a week early due to the heavy pre-ordering so its not uncommon for this sort of thing to occur at all.
 
I got a text from GAME, saying that my copy is ready for collection, however, im not allowed to get it until the 9th:S what was the point in the text?

What that means is if you are using texts to track your order, the copy has arrived from the distribution centre into stock, but that particular store is not distributing it until release date, which I would guess is what will be happening with most people that are posting on FB, aren't they in for a big suprise when they try and collect it before the 9th :wacky:
 
i have just been told of an employee of gamestation that they got the first batch of ffxiii in today but sadly he told me it wont be on sale till tuesday, but he did however say it looked really good (the limited edition that is)

Anyway, I'm hitting the town on Monday and going to investigate myself. Since it will probably be delivered that day, there's a possibility it will be sold. It's not uncommon as Ryan previously mentioned.

In fact, I'd be gloating if it were released a day early.
 
Then where's your evidence? All I see are statements and no proof to back those up.
 
I'll make a journal starting tonight, and when you play it, you'll see that I wasn't lying. Or I will take some pics tonight!
 
MVP what you are doing is gonna get you banned from even using your Xbox so all I will say is take those risks if you want but you will regret it dude :gasp: As for me 3 dayyyss :woo:
 
hmm i preordered XIII at game today just in case, so the worker and i where talking to worker about how epic FF is and all that jazz

I may go down tommorow and have a peek at the GAME in Manchester Fort. Im worrying now cause I havent pre ordered but my plan is to get there on Tuesday before it opens and get in there first! Im just hoping some people go to the bigger outlets like GAME in Manchester or even tesco or Asda. Think Ill check them also tommrow as sometimes they put stuff out eariler then they should! But there is always a chanc eof a ban getting games early :/

If it is released on the Monday i'll just stay off PSN for a day, problem solved :mokken:

On Monday, if it's not released early i'll just take a note of the opening times and make sure i'm there early :hmmm:
 
I'm going to have a look in town in about an hour, to see what is going on...although I've pre-ordered my copy from Amazon and its being dispatched/has been dispatched today, so I SHOULD get it tomorrow...I'm content to wait. Unless its in store when I go have a look, then I'm going to have to tell myself repeatedly I am content to wait. I could always send the copy I ordered back and get a refund, I suppose. Plus I'd rather like the special edition, I've decided...just because. If I get it from GAME I can get money off, because I've got a ton of points.

I absolutely MUST have it on the 9th, though. One way or another. Since I've decided I am going to the London launch event, and if I don't have a game I can't get it signed ._.

Although I'd rather get the guide, to be honest...that isn't being sent off until the 10th. That is ANNOYING...
 
I found a place selling it at midnight, imma grab it tonight and get started, I can't see sleep being on the agenda :mokken:

Alas, it wasn't on sale anywhere today...nor was the guide. Hopefully I'll get both tomorrow though. Although if I don't, I'll just buy the special editions and send the ones I've got coming back when they come.

I think there were a couple of midnight releases, but...nah. If I'm going to London tomorrow, I need to sleep. Staying up until gone midnight is inadvisable...especially considering I'd probably play the game until morning...maybe tomorrow night instead. XD
 
A relative of mine bought it for me from some website which i don't actually know and I got mine today as well. Nobody else I know has it and people had preordered it from GAME and didn't receive it as expected.
It baffles me slightly
 
I was talking to someone today and they said it arrived from play.com this morning, i got annoyed that i didn't order it from there ahh well i'll have to wait till tomorrow during school hours to collect my copy :D
