to be fair, i'd probably have sold my charizard for about a fiver.
I was eventually captured in a sting operation, and blamed my friend entirely
there were rumours that there was a black market for really rare japanese pokémon cards that you couldn't buy in the uk at one point at my school. i don't know if anyone fell for it though
I remember for football stickers there was a rumour they only put the rare ones in the packets after 6pm
we also used to think 1 in 5 packets of pokémon cards had a rare card in, so we used to wait around and try and work out when the best time was to buy some

Pokemon cards were worth more then money itself when I was a kid. Trading cards was some serious shit- one did not simply trade cards without witnesses, a verbally binding contract, and your homeboys if things hit the fan!!!!!!!!
