there were rumours that there was a black market for really rare japanese pokémon cards that you couldn't buy in the uk at one point at my school. i don't know if anyone fell for it though
we also used to think 1 in 5 packets of pokémon cards had a rare card in, so we used to wait around and try and work out when the best time was to buy some
I traded my cousin a shiney shitty Kangaskhan for his shiney Raichu (which was apparently quite rare) but then his mum found out and made me trade it back
Pokemon cards were worth more then money itself when I was a kid. Trading cards was some serious shit- one did not simply trade cards without witnesses, a verbally binding contract, and your homeboys if things hit the fan!!!!!!!!
