First day as a n00b.

It's hard being new to something, and so goes the same for being on the forums. ;)

Recount or recall, whichever :P, the first day you were on the site.

A couple of ideas:

What were your impressions of the place?
the people?
Were you nervous? (not likely :rolleyes:)
What were your goals? Did you want to make new friends?
Anything.


Or anything else you could share.

I'll share mine later as I'm too lazy right now. :P
 
I was on AIM and Bustamo IM'd me out of nowhere.

BustaMo: Join. Then he linked me.

I wanted to figure out what the RPG was so I made 50+ posts in one night.
I was up until 5 AM.

I thought it was going to be very fast and active, which it is.
 
An old FFF that I was at was dying out so I was in the middle of a chat with Fields on AIM and he linked me here and said how killer this place was; so I joined.

Since then I've helped bring over a bunch more whom I've been internet friends with for a while including PreZ, Melancholy Rockit, Red Fox, Aztec, Relient A, and etc.

This story isn't true. I left a forum that Busta was a mod at, and he was like 'WTFBBQ?' and i was like 'lawl, ur ghey! BAAAAAIIII' so he searched "Fields + forum + Final Fantasy", tracked me down, and joined.
 
I was on the original FFF god knows how many years ago, so i decided to come have a look and.... wow it changed, new members completely.
I am aiming to make friends , I am getting somewhere fast, i have one friend so far!
 
First Day:

Darkblade invited me to FFF and I came. Met cool people, loved the RPG ever since I knew they were going to bring it back. Was really enchanted by the Role Playing Central and here I am...

The rest, like some people say, It's story ;)
 
I was a high posting member in the Bethesda forums with over 13,000 posts and thought about joining a similar forum that was Final Fantasy based. I searched and found this place, which I love. I still post in the Bethesda forums sometimes.
 
I admit...when I actually first started posting (January), I found out about the RPG Inferno and wanted to reach 50 posts just so I can play it. =) I did so in a few days, and was playing the RPG for a few weeks. Then I got to actually posting because I wanted to...

And I loved it. xD

Was I noob? Oh yeah, very much so. I wasn't as bad though, considering this is my first forum. I didn't chatspeak or anything. My goals? Nada. Just wanted to find out about FF as much as I can. The sole reason why I joined back in December - needed help with FFXII, I think.

Nervous? Haha, that's funny. What's there to be nervous about? It's all text, avatars, and signatures you see here.
 
Mine wasn't anything particularly memorable... hence why I can't remember it. :monster:

However, I made my face (then 'Vergil') known in the FF section, and only seemed to post in there for a number of weeks. I was pretty impartial to all forum drama and such for a long time... well, until I was asked to join staff. I had an unfortunate run-in with Lady Aerith who -at the time- was a nasty little angsty goblin who seemed to do nothing but threaten me. xD Had a bit of beef with BustaMo back when he was a Section Mod too.

I wasn't liked by staff. :monster:



I didn't exactly make friends as such, but Mitsuki was the first person to ever like... be nice to me, and give me a usernote. =D I think I was slightly intimidated by Vegnya during my first few weeks... xD
 
Stryfe told me about this place. Sooo, I joined. This isn't my first forum. So, I think I fit in pretty well. *shrugs* I am still pretty new though, so I don't have too much to say.

I wanted to find Friend codes for Final Fantasy 3 and get some help from other Final Fantasy games.
Im now trying to get 50+ posts so i can see what the RPG is like.
The community here is very friendly here from what i have seen so far.
 
Okay, here is mine:

It was a regular boring day.....:rolleyes:
...it was after school and I decided to check out a forum for this strategy PC game that I was playing at the time because I needed help, so then I saw what a forum was like after finding one on Google, so I decided to check out more types of forums as I went through the night.

Finally, I think it was about 8:00 I figured, hey, why not check out a Final Fantasy forum. :monster:
Typed it into Google, ran a search, and voila, this forum at the top of the list. :monster:

I decided to just visit for a while, take a look around, found some good topics, until I stumbled upon a topic that was drastically getting some weird answers and I just felt the need to put an opinion in. ^_^ I joined 2 days later.

And, here I am, as n00bish as ever. :monster:

P.S. Oh yeah, I remember my first username JACE, and someone accused me of being a Busta doppelganger XD
 
I randomly googled the phrase "Final Fantasy forum" and this was the first result. So, yeah. I guess I didn't pick the best time to join...the forums are slightly dead with some of the most active members being involved in the Survivor competition. But it's still been a pretty cool experience so far, and I've kind of met some people. The main reason I wanted to join this place was because I wanted to get involved in another fan community (the one that I had previously been a part of was getting sickening and way too controversial for my liking). So...now I'm here. Huzzah.
 
I'd been spending all day trying to find a good FF forum, since myspace has been boring me lately and the FF forum i used to be on died...and after quite a bit of googling and being redirected to tons of sites, i stumbled upon this site.

I checked it out, looked pretty good, made sure to look at the member activity to make sure it wasnt dead, and once i saw that it was pretty active i joined ^_^

And i must say, i'm quite impressed with these forums so far. I've seen alot of people who love IX and actually agree with me that Kuja is a great villain AND that Nomura is highly overrated. Other forums i've been on are just filled with Sephi and Nomura fanboys who love VII or X only, so it's nice to see people who actually can recognize and appreciate deeper aspects of FF.
 
I didn't have a goal when I first joined, I just wanted to find a good FF forum where I could make constructive comments on FFX. I think I was having a little post count war with another n00b on my first few days...I won of course :monster:

I think the only person I've ever been intimidated by is Mortanius/Saix because of how blunt and argumentative he was but now we get on fine
