Final Fantasy XIII Boxart Revealed in Traditional Style

Square Enix has lifted the wraps of what appears to be the Japanese boxart of Final Fantasy XIII

It’s now live on the Square Enix shop to look at. It’s here.
Apparently, it was meant to be something like this, but now, it seems, it was just a placeholder.

This could be the boxart for the UK and EU as well, if past boxarts are anything to go by, so don’t be surprised to see the same cover when it releases here next spring.

I'm not too surprised about that. I knew it the traditional cover would be inevitable. There's no reason to change it because though it may not be the most beautiful and captivating cover ever, it is still very iconic to have solely the logo.

Im glad its not the bottom link I chucked a spaz over my FFIV having a black case and my RW having proper pictures on it. I prefer the white background with the text and a simple image, it looks FAR snazzier. I'm glad they went with that one

Same here Bambi, white background, good clear text and a nice picture to top it off. Clean clear and modern, thats what it appears to be and it's a nice change that looks good and will get it some decent sales from people who window shop.

I like the classic cover. I remember always thinking that the Japanese box art was usually better than our (NA) box art for Final Fantasy games.

I like the plain white cover with just the logo.

It's always so much easier to find when you go looking for a Final Fantasy game at EBGames or wherever.

There's too many games these days with the entire cover plastered with images.

So I'm all for the first one. =D

I kinda like the classic style, it looks good. Sometimes less is more. I feel the second one just isn't.... final fantasy like.

Yup, I totally agree.

The second one reminds me of random games, it definitely doesn't have that Final Fantasy feel. I really do love the simplicity of having just the logo. And the art behind the title is, as always, beautiful.
