Final Fantasy VIII: The Twilight Hour

"SeeD and Cadets, this is Xu. Those participating in the Field Exam, finish your preparations. The mission starts now. Remember you contact us if you find out anything. Zachary and Wolf, please come to the deck. Xu out."

"Well, it's time, men. Let's get this show on the road!!"

Seifer ran through the front entrance of Garden. He wasn't issued an order to move out. All he knew was that he was supposed to clear a path for the next phases of the mission. He was aware of this, but wanted to make sure that he had a head start to begin his part in the mission. He was a little hasteful, but as always, did not care, as he was waiting for action for a long time now. He stood at the outer part of the entrance, waiting for "Commander" Squall and Xu to give the OK to start his phase of the mission.

"Be ready to KICK ASS, men. No woosing on this."

"DUH"

"It's all part of raising hell, you know"

The announcement over the Garden's intercom snapped Irvine out of his reverie. He had been mindlessly wandering through the garden, his mind unfocused, relaxing and preparing for the upcoming mission. He looked around him to ascertain where he was. From the shape of the building he had been walking towards, he recognised that he was near the Infirmary, a place he wasn't particularly familiar with and he had no wish to get to know it better. Irvine turned on his heel and began to walk towards the front gate, it was not a long walk and he found himself there quite quickly. A menagerie of students had already assembled there. Some SeeDs, some potential SeeDs and some otrhers. He was about to scan the crowd for someone he knew when he saw, almost straight ahead of him, Selphie.
He slowly sauntered over to her.
He said to her,

"Hiya Selphie, how's tricks?"
 
"Ready to go...? Wait, I don't see Jack anywhere..."

Selphie was so overjoyed to see Rinoa had come to the gate before it was too late. "I don't know where that Jack guy is." Selphie began. "But if it turns out that's it's just us two fighting it'll be okay."

Selphie stood there in the breeze waiting for Seifer's team to begin so that her team could finish the job and save Trabia. Selphie then saw the familiar man whom she knew and loved walking over to her.

"Hiya Selphie, how's tricks?"

"Say what?" Selphie asked.

Irvine's question had confused and worried her deeply.
 
After a long while Selphie spotted Jack sprinting towards them before collapsing.
"Sorry....I.....am......late......"

"Being late for a SeeD mission is bad! Remember to show up on time!" Selphie said cheerfully as she waited for Seifer's team. "Luckily it won't count against you this time Jack since we haven't started."

Selphie's heart sank, there would be time to save Trabia after all! She took a few stepps ahead and turned to her team. "Well i guess we're ready to go!" She said as she readied her nunchaku and magic for battle...
