I was a huge KH fan back in the day in my pre-teen years. I totally loved seeing my favorite Disney characters and recognizing the heroes of multiple FF games. I recently went back to Kingdom Hearts and did I play through (KH1 and 2) I found myself feeling a bit disgusted at the portrayal of the FF characters and the general mix of Disney and FF. I'm curious to see other people think. :worried:

Is the mix of Disney and Final Fantasy a good idea all around for a true FF fan? Or strictly for kids/people who don't know any better?

I'll elaborate in a bit on my opinion, but first I want to see other's thoughts.

I dont like that FF characters role are next to nothing, everything is about Disney: Villains, plot, temathic and so on. And the original characters are all annoying compared to FF characters, in KH2 you only get ONE FF party member Auron and then nope.

Where is my ultimate team of Sora (If he werent the main i would had dished him out) Leon (Squall), cloud and Auron? But no i have to put Mulan, goofy, donald, ariel, Tarzan and a lot of joke characters......

A huge missed oportunity.

as long as disney allows square to have the final say in how the story gets told, then its a fine mix. i felt that having the FF characters in the game helped promote the game series, even though most roles were a bare minimal. i also liked how the character personas, (many of them younger) were made to add to sora's story. Now had disney taken full control over the characters say and action and made square do as they say.. this would have been an oil and water project and would never have had any success at all, in my opinion.

The Disney characters brought me into the world, but the FF characters made me stay. I was curious about FF after I read about Cloud after seeing him in KH 1. I played and studied FF, and then I played the three PS2 Kingdom Hearts games again, and it was even cooler the second time. I knew the stories behind the FF characters the second time, so it was pretty cool seeing guys like Mickey Mouse interacting with these serious FF characters. In my opinion, it was a awesome mix.
