fight for a future

the SC blasted upwards avoiding the BSR shots, then stephen pulled down the Keyboard and slammed through some of the systems, he edited the power output of the 580MM cannon mounted in the chest to a safe training level. he then targeted the Aegis "so, no long range, you forget one thing" Stephen announced as he pulled the trigger, Launching a beam at the Aegis.
 
Mary was amused, not because that "hunk of junk" was able to dodge her shots, but that she underestimated him, a mistake she probably would not have made had he still had been using the Strike Freedom. Acting quickly, Mary moved out of the way as fast as possible, unsheathing her shield in case of a potential shockwave. Had this been real combat, a direct hit would have been vaporized her and her Gundam by the cannon's firepower. She barely made it out, with the suit taking some minor damage.

Mary laughed, this was the first time she actually took on a skilled opponent since the Mexico City Massacre. "I've admit, I've underestimated you, that's a first fighting you." Mary said, "But I won't make the same mistake twice." She said as she took aim and fired at Stephen's chest, hoping to disable that plasma energy cannon.
 
Stephen used the rocket powered grapple to blockthe attack to the SC's chest, then in one swift rotation of the torso, Stephen Launced the left grapple at the Aegis' shoulder and pulling the right sided armour schneider combat knife from the leg sheath ready to attack. the plan was to grapple the Aegis and pull it in close enough to jab the knife into the head disabling the main camera.
 
OOC: the 90mm gatling is rather big, meaning its potential energy is much greater than the normal rifles. If you cop a full blast straight on, it will draing your Phase shift a hell of a lot faster than normal bullets. You'll still be okay, but i really hope you dont go and brush it off like its nothing

It was a bad mistake in getting that close. The boomerang shot past her suit and Riina knew it was already on its way back. Moreover, it was heading straight towards her left leg. Applying maximum boosting to her right leg, Le Cygne rurned at a 90 degree so that her legs moved just out of the way. Just in time, the boomerang shot back past her right leg and back towards "X".

Tch! What a pain...

Aegis had jumped in, which annoyed Riina a bit. She wanted the satisfaction of a well fought fight, whether it be she lose or win. Now two on one, it barely gave her the relief of releasing the pent up stress.

Argh! God damnit!

After a menial curse, Riina returned her shorter ranged pistols and her right hand gripped onto the 90mm Gatling while her left pulled out her Heavy Beam Rifle( HBR). In place of her wrist mounted guns, Riina let rip with the large gatling while she laid 5 large beams from her rifle at Calamity. She slowly drifted a bit further back so that she was out of the boomerangs range. The cannon was still a threat, but with Le Cygne and her skills, it was more than easy to dodge.
 
Stephen jumped on the booster, Launching himselfupwards to dodge the attacks of the Le Cygne "crap, ialmost forgot about her" Stephen muttered under his breath as he began running the numbers in his head, the drain on his power source was starting to take it's effect, Stephen hated the lack of nuclear reactor in this suit.

"Pilot X, return to the hangar by Captain's order" the CIC worker of the Archangel boomed through the com. "how does no sound" Stephen announced as he felt his Seed burst inside his head "here we go, you wanted two on one, bring it ON!!!" Stephen announced as the Calamity flipped upside down and Launched one of it's rocket grapples at each of the other suits, the Le Cygne's leftleg, and the Aegis' right arm.
 
When Stephen fired his rocket anchors, Mary aimed at them with her BSR. But they were moving faster than normal and in an unpredictable fashion than normal. "Damn." She said as Aegis's right shoulder (her BSR arm) was struck with the anchor. She was then pulled in by the Calamity. "Lucky shot." Mary said as she tried to cut the tether with her beam saber, but to no avail. It was looking like Stephen would finally get his close range duel, meaning she would have to strike Stephen in the head, damaging his camera and ensuring that he won't have any radar or major targeting equipment to use.
 
As the Calamity reeled in the Aegis, Stephen realised how large the predicament he was in, he retracted the rocket anchor headed towards theLe Cygne and pulled one of it's beam boomerangs and threw it at the Aegis' head, hoping to disable the it by decapitating it on the way past and then comming back and taking off it's legs.

As Stephen watched the beam Boomerang head towards the Aegis' head, he realised just how well his Seed ability boosted his piloting skill.
 
As Mary saw the beam boomerang coming towards her head, she had her Beam Saber ready. "This is gonna be close...." She said. As soon as the Beam Boomerang came close she used the beam saber in her left arm (the one not pinned down by the anchor) to prevent the weapon from decapitating her. Unfortunately, the boomerang did however manage to cut some of the armor from the head, leaving a scar-like portion on the left side of the head. "Dammit." Mary said, although she managed to deflect the brunt of the attack. Her radar systems were damaged in the attack. "So much for detecting anyone."

Mary activated the boosters of the Aegis. She was hoping either one of two things. Either Stephen use the boosters in an attempt to free Mary's arm (and run the process of losing an arm completely, but having her able to use her BSR again), or him not using his boosters and dragging the SC close enough to strike it with the sword.
 
as the Aegis booted it's boosters Stephen smiled he turned the calamity as he cought the beam boomerang and fired a round fromthe chestmounted cannon, directly at the Aegis, this was basically testing how well he could mix and match the SC's weapon's, so far the boomerang and grapple had proven effective, as for the cannon and grapple, hewas about to find out.

the shot was aimed at what remained of the Aegis' head.
 
"Heh, I'm gonna need a new head anyway." Mary said as she continued to pull the anchor off Aegis. The chest beam hit the head, disabling most of the targeting systems and all NVG equipment. The blast's concussive force also helped to remove the anchor meraculously without taking off the arm in the process. Because the head was gone, she could not precisely hit SC with the BSR, making it nothing more but a high powered semi-auto beam rifle. "Dammit, my BSR is no more use to me." Mary felt her SEED burst inside her head. "Well then, I guess we're gonna have to do it the hard way!!" She said as she activated both her beam sabers and came charging towards Sword Calamity at high speed.
 
Riina's heartrate was still high and as the battle raged on, it only became faster. The grapple hook from the SC came flying at Le Cygne's left leg. It was going to be hard to dodge and in that instant, instead of her leg, Riina let the claw it her left arm. The coil slackened slightly and with this opportunity, wrapped her arm around the coil a few times before shooting forward. Ditching both guns, Riina drew her light saber from the recharge pack and let it lead her flight along the grapple hook's line. THis will endure that her aim will be on the mark at the end of the coil as it eventually leads back to the SC.

EAT THIS!

In that precise moment, Riina's SEED ability kicked in and at the end of the line, Riina launched a side sweeping kick with her left leg and sent the saber in her right hand swinging right. It was intended so that he could neither dodge forward or back, only up or down, in which her grip on the coil line will enable her to restrict his movement.
 
as both the Aegis and Le Cygne came in with their beam sabers Stephen knew how this pincer like movement was going to end "crap" he muttered as he rotated the SC on the spot to avoid massive damage. as the attacks from both sides came in, Le Cygne and SC removed one of the Calamity's arms each.

As both arms exploded the Calamity was thrown backwards, now armless there was nothing more Stephen could do, and his eyes regained their normal State as his Seed ability ended, Stephen looked at the other two suits and smiled "well played ladies" Stephen muttered through the com as the SC spunand headed back towards the Archangel.
 
Mary's eyes regained their normal state as her SEED Ability ended. She said, "You're not bad yourself, X." She said before Aegis sped off to the Archangel, docking at the hanger.

At the hanger, the maintenance crew was shocked to see the Aegis in such a disarray, the head was pretty much gone and there was a 6 foot hole in the right shoulder. One of the maintenance said, "What the heck happened?" Mary responded, "Well, lets just say I had to take care of issues, now be a good boy and fix up the suit will ya." "Tch...fine."

Mary headed back to her room, she had a good day of course, but now that she knows that Stephen won't be such a liability in that suit, Mary looks forward to the next mission and her pay.
 
Zeria was in the hangar bay when they would all get in. She didn't look happy at all. She looked a little angry, but mostly sad. She resembled how she had back before she'd left the Hunters and joined Earth Forces. She was sitting atop the Blitz, talking to it.

"What do I tell him, Blitz? How do I make it clear so he understands how much it hurts?"

She sighed, shaking her head.

"Of course. You can't talk, so it does me no good to ask you questions"

Zeria watched the Calamity come in, battered, missing it's arms, and frowned, becoming worried. She was waiting for Stephen to get out, so she could take him somewhere to talk in private about something important...something that was beginning to really bother her...
 
Riina floated around as her SEED began to die out. Her eyes weren't quite focused on the surrounding nor on what her two comrades had said. As both Gundams made their way back to the hangar of Archangel, Riina continued to float about.

Hey! Lazyhead. Wakey wakey. Get back to the ship or the Captain'll be mad.

The comm buzzed with short static before cutting off. Le Cygne still gripped onto the cord of the grapple hook and the arm of SC. After a few more moments of silence, Riina let out a heavy sigh and looked high. It wasn't quite what she wanted, but it was the best she got.

I guess i can forgive him...somewhat...

Riina boosted off sidewards, grabbing the 90mm and her HBR, mounting it on her waist before she headed back. Unlike the other two, Riina's suit was in good condition since she didn't go close quarter against SC. Landing heavily, Le Cygne once more occupied its rack as tekkies began scrambling all over it again.

What the? Is this an arm?

Riina had not noticed, but her Gundam still held SC's arm, which was connected to the coil. When she had servered it's arm, she never let go.

It belongs to Sword Calamity. Take it over there so repairs are faster. Also, tell them to page me in my room if i'm needed. I feel sick.

Without waiting for a response, Riina drifted out and subconsciously changed out of her suit and went back to her room. She locked the door so that no-one could disturb her and she flopped back onto the bed. The best medicine for melancholy was sleep. Turning over, Riina began to snooze, planning to continue so until she was called once again.
 
As the Calamity entered the hangar bay, Stephen saw Zeria sat atop the blitz "she still talks to it then" as he put the Calamity in it's 'bay' the cockpit opened and noticed the captain stood gobsmacked as the he stepped out onto the Cockpit cover Stephen looked down at the Captain.

"I HAVE PILOTED THAT SUIT ONCE, AND IT CAME BACK IN A BETTER STATE" the captain screeched in anger "X I AM TRANSFERING YOU TO THE ETERNAL!!!!!!!" he added still furious Stephen floated down to the ground floor and the Captain glared at him, Stephen rolled his eyes under the mask and smirked "yea, whatever" Stephen announced "maybe they will have a decent suit i can use" he added.

"NO" the captain blurted out "X you are grounded of sorts, you are going to the Enternal for a probationary period, you shall have no suit, and not piloting, Zeria is going with you, she shall be the judge and jury of when you are allowed to pilot again" the Captain finished his lecture of sorts and left, Stephen looked up at Zeria and smiled before heading out of the hangar bay.
 
"What?" Mary said in shock when she heard the news. The captain said, "That's right, pilot X is suspended from combat duties and is forbidden from piloting a suit until further notice. Zeria will be going with X to the Eternal to be the judge during his probationary period."

"With all due respect sir, I don't think that that is such a good idea."

"Now Mary, I know you're upset, but please, it is for the best, now come with me, we need to discuss the next mission."

Mary, annoyed with the captain's decision, had no choice but to abide by his orders and walked with him. "So what's our mission."

We will be heading back groundside as soon as Stephen and Zeria leaves, which means it will be you and Riina on this mission. You will be team leader during this period.

The thought of being team leader again put some worry on Mary's face. The last time she led a squad was to their deaths in Mexico City. Mary sighed, knowing that once the captain made his decision it would be almost impossible to make him shake off his decision. "I understand sir."

"Good, Once repairs on Le Cygne and Aegis are complete and we are in the atmosphere we will begin the briefing." The Captain said, and with that, he left.

Mary sighed, saying sarcastically, "That's just wonderful. Kick Stephen out and put me in the driver's seat." For the first time as a mercenary, she was not looking forward to the next mission.
 
As he floated through the corridor towards his Quarters, Stephen contemplated why he would be sent to the Enternal, after all, they had suits of their own, and a probationary period "complete bullshit" he murmered to himself as he passed the cafeteria "hey yo, X" a man's voice shouted to him Stephen stopped his forward momentum and turned around the see a mechanic, but with the Captain's symbol on his chest "so your the guy who ruined the Sword Calamity?" he questioned "indeed i am" X replied "and I'm guessin', your the one who has to fix it" he threw into his previous statement "Good luck" Stephen ended before floating down the corridor.

Stephen figured it would be good for him to stay out of the action for a while, get back in touch with why he wants to be a mercenary, after all, now that the strike Freedom was gone He had no idea what he was going to do.

Arriving at his Dorm, Stephen grabbed his bag and threw it to the bed, this Zero Gravity lifestyle was great he thought to himself as he packed the bag with clothes and toiletries. he picked up the bottle from his bedside locker and drank a mouthful before letting go of it and leaving it to float beside him.

Stephen picked up a picture of Zeria, Himself and another man, he looked at it and shook his head, "there was nothing you could do man" he muttered to himself as he stared at the picture, in which he was stood in the middle, with an arm around each of them, his hand positioning showed his feelings more than anything, his right hand on Zeria's waist, and his left on the man's shoulder "Giulio, I'm sorry" he muttered as he put the picture in his bag.
 
Zeria had been stunned to find out that she and Stephen had to go to the Eternal, and that she was his probationary judge. Well, that solved part of her problem anyway. She sighed, patting the Blitz, and then drifted down, before heading into her room. She picked up a framed copy of the same photo Stephen had, sighing.

"We've all changed so much...well...not you, Giulio...but I'm sure you're keeping watch over us..........I miss you..."

She put the photo in her bag, tossing whatever she had in it. There wasn't much, because she'd never had much in the first place. She'd always kept her duffel bag in the Blitz. She gave a half-hearted laugh.

"I finally have a reason to come back here...and then they're sending me off again...but at least I'm with Stephen this time..."

She sighed again, taking one last look at her room, empty now, before turning and heading towards the hangar bay again. Zeria took a deep breath and perched herself up on the Blitz, waiting for Stephen.

"Well old friend, seems we're off again to new places. But he'll be with this time. So it's not just us all alone"

She smiled softly, her eyes sparkling.

"I'm just glad he's coming...I care about him more then I've ever told anyone but you, Blitz..."
 
Stephen slung his bag over his shoulder and looked around, he grabbed the mask he had been ordered to wear. Puttin on the mask, Stephen exited, he was getting some strange looks from the crew, as a pilot, X was loved, but as an all round member of the crew, people didn't like him, aparently it was impossible for him to fill Stephen's shoes.

The crew had been informed, Stephen was sent to Zaft for punishment for his actions and had been sentanced to death by firing Squad, and Pilot X was the replacement.

when he arrived at the hangar he saw Zeria sat atop the Blitz, and then looked at what he would be taking to the Eternal, it was a small and pathetic Mistral, Shook his head in disgust "Seriously?" he mumbled to himself before climbing in, there was enough room for two, but luckily, there was only a few metre's to travel and there were no enemy combatants in the area.

throwing his bag down, Stephen got toed onto the catapault, and then Launched. Flying through the sky, Stephen was bored rigid as the flight was slow and boring, what would have taken him a few seconds in the Strike Freedom was taking him nearly 5 minutes in the Mistral.
